Saw this ad today in my new Autoweek magazine and thought the Equinox looked really good up front. After looking at a current model, I realized the changes. Small print at the bottom says its only a test vehicle and not for sale, but it looks good to me.

It looks better with the Pontiac Torrent lights and new grille.

I'm sure the Torrent headlights, hood, fenders & an all new bumper

cover will be 2009 restyle....

Interesting comments from the show room yesterday, in case anyone from GM is listening. A 30 something couple with two kids in toe, came in to look at the '07 Equinox. They had just looked at the Acadia (loved it, but not going to pay $50k for it), then the Vue and the Outlander. They were not impressed with the back cargo area of the Equinox, the cheapness of the fabric. The husband even thought the inside door pull felt flimsy on the driver's door ( alittle cheap looking, but not flimsy, IMO) I didn't argue with any of the points. I was unsuccessful at slowing them down enough to get them to drive one, or actually price it out.

Sigh. Back to selling on price, not that I can't do that, but it takes more time. It is easier to impress customers with the overall general appearance of the vehicle. The Equinox rideds and handles great, surprisingly well, in fact. But getting them to drive it after bad first impressions is not easy.

I am hoping for a major, major refresh or replacement of the Equinox before those 4 year leases start coming up.

when I drove one, I was very surprised how good it's giddy-up was considering the engine under the hood and all the armchair bitching that goes on in this forum about it.

The five-speed auto really makes a difference.
