How many model/nameplates in each GM division appeal to you? I don't mean that you think a given model is a good choice in class, makes sense for you, is financially sensible.

I mean which do you look at and say "I'd like to have one of those".

How many from each GM division make the cut for you?

Hmmm...sadly, not many, if any at all, really.

Let's see...

GMC ... perhaps the Canyon ... otherwise, nada.

Chevrolet ... perhaps the Colorado ... otherwise, nada.

Buick ... Even though it's FWD, I kinda like the looks of the Lucerne.

Pontiac ... GTO and upcoming G8 for sure ... along with the current Solstice

Cadillac ... STS, XLR

Saturn ... Aura (wouldn't buy it though, FWD) ... SKY.

For cars I would actually drive:

Buick: 0

Pontiac: Solstice GXP, G8, GTO (assuming you could still find one)

Saturn: Sky RL

GMC: 0

Chevy: Corvette, Camaro

Cadillac: CTS-V, XLR-V, CTS 3.6 DI

Hummer: 0

Saab: Perhaps the 9-3 convert

Now, for which cars I'd like my family to have (for other members of the family, but not me personally)... cars that do something for me but aren't ones I'd actually want to drive:

Buick: Enclave

Pontiac: same as above

Saturn: Sky RL, Outlook, Astra, Vue

GMC: Acadia

Cadillac: same as above and SRX, Escalade

Hummer: H3

Saab: 9-3 convert

Chevy: same as above, Tahoe

If I were going to buy a car right this moment:

Buick: Lucerne

Cadillac: CTS, STS, XLR*

Chevy: Cobalt Coupe, Corvette*, HHR Panel, Impala SS, Silverado single or ext cab.

GMC: Sierra single or ext cab

Hummer: none

Pontiac: leftover GTO*, Solstice*, G6 coupe, G6 convertible*

Saab: 9-3 vert*, 9-3 sedan

Saturn: Sky*, Aura XR

* - these get eliminated from contention if I have no other way to shuttle my bikes around.

Cadillac - CTS

Chevrolet - Corvette, incoming Camaro

Pontiac - incoming G8

Saturn - Sky

The Vette would be borderline affordable for me at 70K+ here, who has a car > their mortgage.

This thread turned into an interesting read.

Even so, I guess that I should have realized that everyone would list the cars rather than the numbers (which I was actually looking for when I posted).

Oh well, I'm actually sort of glad it turned out this way instead.

Just for grins, anyone want to try to put names to my numbers?

Cadillac CTS-V. Not in love with the exterior looks though.

The Camaro, if and when it comes out I would have to look at.

Only one wrong so far.

I wasn't sure on the SRX. So that ones probably it. Though yours aren't too hard to guess, since they are so similar to mine.

Oh I forgot Pontiac: Solstice, G8, GTO

Only one wrong so far.

The ones Caddy listed for Chevrolet were the only 5 I was able to determine, too. So, I admit, I'm curious what the additional 1.5 are.....
