Well, it's getting to be that time of the year again!

As many of you know, the Dream Cruise is scheduled for August 18th. Just wanted to see if anyone that isn't local is planning on attending. Or if you are local, when you will be down there, since chances are you wont just be there on one day.

Some people have probably already seen this...

Mightymouse and I will probably be spending time around 12 1/2 mile and maybe a little time up in Pontiac.

So if you think you will be in the area, let us know! Its always nice to be able to put faces to names!

Ahhhh...I'm going to miss this event ENTIRELY this year.

It doesn't look like I'll be going to PA next weekend for the family reunion, so I'll be missing out on my annual stop in Michigan as well :(.

Hopefully I'll be there next year again ... it really is a cool cruise ... and I've enjoyed meeting people there :).

oh well - I am already in for 5 spots next year....bring one of the Montes next time maybe...

I wont be making it down this year though. I have been stuck with a family reunion the weekend before and can't get down both weekends because of work. Personally I would choose going to Woodward because me and my dad loved it. We talked about 12 families in to going down to see it. Next year I should definitely be there and with the T-Type as well. I am still waiting to get it painted but it still gets lots of looks.

It looks like for the first time in five years, I might actually have part of the dream cruise weekend off! (Sunday)

I think it would be cool to meet up with of you guys!

Now I just need a classic!

How's it going? looking forward to meeting you guys and having some of your cheeseburgers again. These spots are very close to where you were last year right? Are there any tours of GM's private collection like there was last year? This year I plan on getting to Detroit for Thursday afternoon so I can enjoy the action on Thursday night and all day Friday.

Yes, just a little north...

We were going to stop by last year but everytime we drove down that way we didn't see Mightymouse's Malibu so we figured you guys weren't there. We also went out really early last year while it was raining and we drove the cruise at 7 or 8. It is an excellent event. We stayed north of 13 mile most of the time where Chrysler and GM was. I couldn't find Ford though. We were told where they would be but we went and couldn't find them. There should be plenty of 57 Bel Airs again for their 50th and the deuce coupes for their 75th this year.

Movie Stars and Other Cool Cars from General Motors Featured at the 2007 Woodward Dream Cruise
Posted Image

DETROIT - Cars and trucks with storied pasts and bright futures, starring roles in blockbuster movies and personal connections to NASCAR racing champions are just a few of the reasons to visit all three GM exhibits at the Aug. 18 Woodward Dream Cruise.

For those who can't attend, GM will for the first time offer multimedia coverage of the Woodward Dream Cruise from links at www.gm.com beginning Aug. 16.

Chevrolet will take over the Birmingham Triangle with a presentation of more than 60 classic and tuner vehicles, including vintage cruisers from the personal collections of some of NASCAR's biggest names. There will also be a full-line display of the newest Chevy cars, trucks and SUVs, highlighted by the new Chevy Volt and Camaro Convertible concepts.

Located at the junction of Woodward and Old Woodward south of 15 Mile Road, the Chevy Triangle will offer visitors a chance to participate in interactive games, sample great food from local vendors and enjoy live music. The Chevy Racing Tour and the XM Ultimate listening Tour will also be on tap.

A mile south, the Athens Coney Island parking lot will take on a Hollywood flavor as four of the automotive stars of the blockbuster movie Transformers take the stage. They will be joined by the all-new 362-horsepower 2008 Pontiac G8 rear-wheel-drive sedan and the Holden Efijy retro cruiser concept from Australia that rocked the 2007 North American International Auto Show with its global cruising theme.

Located on the west side of Woodward south of 14 Mile Road, the GM Athens exhibit will also feature some of the cars that made Woodward a cruising icon, such as '57 Chevys, split window Corvettes and GTOs. GM Powertrain will display examples of the hardware that made the horsepower that put the muscle in muscle cars.

Another mile south at the Royal Oak Memorial Park is where GM Performance Division will display the Chevrolet SS and Cadillac V-Series models engineered for driving enthusiasts. They will be joined by some unique vehicles that you can't buy, such as a custom Chevy Silverado created by Performance Division for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and a 200 mph Ecotec 4-cylinder-powered "belly tank lakester" for the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Located just north of 13 Mile Road on the east side of Woodward, the GM Performance Division exhibit will have product specialists on hand to discuss technical features of all the vehicles on display. Also, Linda Vaughn, "The First Lady of Motorsports," will be signing autographs at the exhibit from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 18.

All three GM exhibit locations will be open Saturday, Aug. 18 - Chevy Triangle from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., GM Athens Coney Island from 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Performance Division Memorial Park from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. In addition, the Performance Division exhibit will be open on Thursday, Aug. 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Ah, well ....

MM ... AWESOME pics!

Rosie from the MI MC organization Emailed me and let me know that she has been amazed at the number of cars and events along Woodward this year ... even well before the actual Dream Cruise. She told me I had better plan to be there at some point next year ... he he. Apparently, the MC group had a great turnout last weekend, too, that I missed :(.

I made it to the very first Woodward not even knowing it was on. Needless to say things have grown and I will have to make a return visit.

Also go to Hot August Nights in Reno it is also one of the things a real car guy has to do before he dies things.

Thanks for the pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woodward is a blast. I'm blessed to be only 2hrs away from D-Town, unfortunatly I was not able to make it this year (grinding my teeth at I type this) but have full plans to do it again next year.

Posted

As usual, the Woodward Dream Cruise was incredible. For all you guys who live out of state, you have to try one year to come out this way. It really is the biggest "Car Party" in the world.

Also, did any one get to see the corvette with the (I'm guessing) Nomad front and back end?

I got a side shot but not the front.

(I'll put the picture I got in here when I get home).

It was sharp.

Here are some more shots ....Saturday wasn't too good for taking pictures tho so I didn't take as many...

Talk about variety...

Yeah I tried to jump around ...Its wierd, but I kinda get tired of seeing all the regular cool cars by Saturday sometimes....

I get burnout and then almost all cool cars are like ......"meh"

they have to be different to raise an eyebrow.
