Why didn't they just take the 306hp V-6 from the IS and add the hybrid system then they would be the Prius of big luxury cars. Wow, Toyota is literally repeating GM's mistakes one by one, lol. Who cares about a car company whom thrived while GM and Ford were sleeping for 40 years.

Wow, It's like saying I'm the hardest working person in a room in which everybody is sound asleep. Big deal!

They'll be carrying a whole lot less to the lake, beach, and mountains in their LS600h. Maybe that's what their environmentally-friendly Land Cruiser is for...

I'm sure they already own a full-size SUV. And you can't argue the LS600h's pollution scores, fact is it pollutes less than most vehicles. Perhaps you wish everyone lived in a mud hut and walked everywhere but Toyota marketing already knows that isn't going to happen.

Standing ¼-mile: 13.8 sec @ 106 mph

C/D-observed: 20 mpg

More telling is that our observed consumption with the LS460L was 13 mpg, whereas the LS600hL returned 20 mpg during its week-long visit with us.

Lexus claims this car has V-12 performance with V-8 fuel consumption, and it’s hard to argue with that comparison unless the V-12 in question is in a Mercedes-Benz twin-turbo model, and in that instance, Lexus should expect to get its butt kicked.

Lexus proudly claims a 50-to-70-mph time of 3.5 seconds, and we beat that by 0.4 second at the test track.

Oh, gosh... don't give them ideas.

Well on the bright side, once Toyota makes it into single digit MPG, there's only one way to go, and that's up!

What a joke.

Toyota could put a lexus badge on a turd and it would sell.

Lexus should offer a version of the Prius...with different taillights, front end, Lexus interior trim and goodies, and the big L badges...now that would be hot.

Sad, but true. People will buy it, just like they do with the ES350. AS150h?

I swear most Toyota owners should be riding a bus!

For a multitude of reasons.

Yes...a quality interior and Lexus badge would make the Prius way more desirable, IMHO...the vile gray plastic interior of the current model is a big turn off, IMHO.
