Just found out from the news today (Yes, eventhough I'm anti-press I do glance every once in a while) that as of now there are only 2 other place in America where gas prices are higher than what I'm paying. Those places are 1) Hawaii and 2) Some high class place up north I think. So we have the third highest gas prices on average in the nation. The other day my community had the most expensive gas prices in NC. They're averaging from 3.19/gallon to 3.21/ gallon for regular here. I got a tank in Charlotte this weekend for 2.98/gallon though...SCORE!!! Just thought I would whine a bit.

Why the hell DID gas shoot up 20 cents last week? It was down to 2.6x at stations around town, then for some reason last Wednesday it shoots back back up to 2.8x?! Its gone down a couple cents since then, but still 2.79-2.85 depending on what part of town you're in.

Because it's a money making scam

Create panic---Make bigger profits

Just like if you create enough panic you can devalue a stock and make a profit when it goes back up.

the genious of Orson Wells. Well theres a few hoses still flopping around in the breeze down south at the refinerys. When they get them lasoed and tied up well see prices back down to 2.39 where they were before the big crisis struck. Remember when it went up 40 cents in 4 hours, one dollar in what 2.33 days ? Dont worry we all got a great big raise comming........down the pipeline.........you know that trickle down pipeline...........just be sure to get inline now so you dont miss your drip...........Dip! Dance to the pull of the Puppet Masters

There are other places higher...I was in Aspen, Colorado recently...it was $3.58 for regular unleaded (85 octane) there. It's always high in the mountain towns, I've noticed... it's between $2.85 and 2.95 for the most part here in Denver..really hasn't changed much since Labour Day. Edited by moltar

2.39... That'd be great.. We NEVER hit that low (Because of our horrendous gas tax in NC) We hit around 2.70 something, which I can live with. But anything over 3.00 makes me angry and worried.
