Lexus' LF-A Spied
NSX? What NSX?

Lexus will reveal the production LF-A supercar either at Frankfurt in September or on its home field at Tokyo in October. This prototype, spied turning test laps at the Nürburgring, is likely powered by a 5.0-liter, 500-hp V10, similar to what’s in the next-generation NSX that the competition from Acura is finalizing for a Tokyo debut.

While the LF-A’s debut is up in the air, it’s clear the $100,000-plus flagship sports car is well on its way to going on sale in late 2008 as a 2009 model. Styling closely follows that of the concept design shown at both the 2005 and 2007 Detroit shows.

Why buy a 5 liter V10 for the same amount of money as a 7 liter V8 that makes the same power in a Corvette ZO6, and have enough 30 grand to buy a Buick Lucerene CXS with a 4.6 liter V8 good for 275 horses?

Why do people hate American cars? :duh::banghead::fiery::Toyota:

Because there's a drunken L on the hood.

In this price range, it's more about exclusivity, image, and luxury, than head snapping muscle car acceleration.

Why buy a 440-horsepower XLR-V for $100,000 when you can save $30,000 and get a 505-horsepower Corvette Z06 based on the same platform?

And coming in 2010, the LF-Ah. The tagline will probably read: "The first luxury hybrid sportscar."

The XLR-V is a drop-top... so not all of that extra $30,000 is a waste!

Yeah, but the Tesla electric roadster can one up even that.

And I agree about exclusivity, I always kinda thought the Corvette was for hardcore fans, lottery winners and people recieving large inheritances, and the XLR is for puushover business types who were frivilous with thier wallets enough to spend that much.

And BIMMER325, no matter what bad connotations there are,and shortcomings it has, it's still a Cadillac. I always did think the V series should replace the base XLR, and they work thier way up from there, tho.

So was the Cimarron.

So were the all the Sevilles, and all the El Dorados, and all those great early Cadillac as far back as 1902. Only two MAJOR failures, Cimmaron and Catera, even the Allante had a good aura about it.

I'm just sayin, I'd pay the premium for a CADILLAC, a car that could beat the world, maybe a Benz. Those are cars that have a century of excellence behind them.

Not a gussied up Toyota, with only twenty years quality under their belts, ya know?

That is pretty cool looking, kinda "Supra-esque".

However the front end makes me instantly think "Porsche"

because they don't want to see every tom, dick and harriet driving around the same car as there's every couple of blocks?

:withstupid:

The only aspect of the car that I like so far is the rear. The front looks funny to me and doesn't look that impressive, but I'll wait till the unveiling to make judgement.

We don't, but others are better and fit that person's personality. You get a Current buick (other than the beautiful enclave) and we know your 55 or older or Asian.

You get the LX, and your in the current century, or Asian. :pbjtime:

no 'loser' emblem on the front of the car

Well, there are reasons why luxury nameplates exisit in the first place. Not everyone wants to drive a Chevy.
