I want to drive them all, too, so you are not alone!

I am old enough to remember these vehicles (as mostly beaters), but not old enough to have driven them. A guy I briefly dated in the early '80s had a '62 Plymouth - power brakes but no power steering! I had a '67 Polara in '79 and I did (illegally) get to drive my father's '69 300 quite a bit in '75ish.

I love watching old movies just to get glimpses of old cars like these. The 2nd or 3rd Planet of the Apes featured a '71 New Yorker in a few of the scenes. The Happening (horrible movie, but great soundtrack) had a '66 (I think) Chrysler convertible featured prominently. Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (original) had a lot of cool "Forward Look" Chryslers. Just a few movies that come to mind.

But best of all - nary a Honda or Toyota in sight!!!

I didn't think I was alone on that ;).

Sixty8- the father of the guy who we talked to about the Hurrican Floyd B-59 has a sweet '59 Imperial Crown 2-dr hardtop.

Another guy I sold a car to a while back owns a '60 300-F 2-dr hardtop with both long- and short-tube Ram Induction set-ups. Burgandy with a white 4-bucket interior. I told him he needed to sell it to me, but he just laughed and said he's going to be buried in it.

I'm not a T-bird fan, in fact I think they're some of the most over rated cars

around, and some are in fact butt ugly IMHO. But in the spirit of my G/F

watching Thelma & Louise this morning I thought I'd post an exception to the

rule: the '70 Thunder-Turd 2dr pillarless Hardtop.

This is a 1970 T-Bird in "Green Fire". Ford's idea of green is combustion.

And some random stuff:

Holy Cow Balathazar:

I certanly hope he treats the '59 Imperial better than the

cars we looked at. It's sad that someone would leave

so many neat classics rotting in a wet barn or out in the

tall grass year round next to some Ford & Son tractor.

Here's a 300F, one of the best examples of tailfins EVER!

Here's an AMC hardtop that I have never seen up close and

yet there's one that I keep seeing in the area from afar...

And how about a '77 Nissan 4-door Hardtop?

Harley- what the hell have you been up to lately, or have I just been moving in different threads than you?

Sixty- that '77 nissan is a loaded diaper. Could be a circa '70 intermediate from AMC.

I love the SC/Ramblers- I've seen a few over the years- the American is a nice little car to start with.

Hey Balthazar, doing ok here...was away for awhile, busy with life, but lurking around here occasionally. Glad to see you and others are looking after things at C&G.

Here's another hardtop:

The clean and understated '51 Hudson Hollywood.

Love that Hudson never seen a photo of one, nevermind in the flesh....

'68'...you are so right, photos of this car are very rare.

Tough time finding some.

Oh and did I say, I'm a big Hudson fan.

They had such a solid, broad shouldered,

American stance about them.

At one time the Hudson Motor Car Company

sold 300,000 cars a year.

This is the pillared Club Coupe.

Wanted to show it, just because

it looks so good.

The unique shape of the rear window

and a butt that just won't quit.

Sexy.
