I agree with the person man who said update the Impala, DTS and Lucerne. But uhh I would take it one step further and redesign the G-Body and call it a Chi (I know never exsisted) and end up switching the Impala to RWD. But they all could use 6 speed auto's for 2009!

The Zeta Impala or chevy sedan Zeta 551 has just been delayed 1 year! Was suppose to launch June 2009, new launch date is June 2010. And yes the W bodies will be around in 2010/11 at least as fleet anyway.

As I said in the other thread, seeing that a 12 month delay would not result in June 2010, I have to take this report with a grain of salt. It's possible that it is delayed and that it has been delayed until June 2010, but in that case the 12 month claim is wrong.

Here's a reality check folks. Has anyone here taken notice how poorly GM's excellent new pickups and SUVs have done with gas over $3/gal? You can bank on gas approaching $4.50 by 2010, about the time when Zeta blooms. It's hard to imagine buyers plunking down hard-earned money for a guzzler at those gas prices. Remember how the Fit, Yaris, Prius were the darlings last summer when prices went higher? People have already forgotten. But they'll remember soon again. Count on it. Once again GM will be caught flatfooted.

Chazman says Sandles is credible, so I believe it. I have a lot of respect for Chazman's posts on all the boards.

I see what people are saying... Cadillac aside (most of us are not on a budget to buy a new Caddy)

there's not much for us in terms of RWD cars from GM. We had the GTO for a while but besides

that & the F-body and even less practical Kappas we're out in the cold.

Show me an affordable 4-dr (family car) from GM w/ RWD sold new in the USA between 1997 & 2007.

(smack whoever called out Catera!)

The CTS has a base MSRP of 29k and can be had for about 27k real world.

Where do you think a Zeta Chevy/Buick/Pontiac is going to start?

Edit: Keep in mind that a Catera MSRPed for 29k in 1997, so considering inflation, the price has come down.

if i was GM, I'd be working overtime to have those NY auto show triplets on the street sooner rather than later. i'd also be focused on diesel(even if limited use in usa), E85 and hybrids as fast as possible.
