During our GM Canada dealer meetings tonight in Ontario we were introduced to the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe and the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. Although we were unable to sit in them, we were given an upclose look at the exterior of the models and let me tell you, they are even more amazing in real life. The Avalanche still has its unmistakable styling but has been softened on the sides and made more agressive on the front end. Some of the features we are too expect is a power operated hard cover and rolling cargo area, like that introduced this year on the 2006 Cadillac EXT. Dare I say that the side view of the Avalanche reminded me of the Ridgeline but much more Avalanche like. However the new Avalanche is an obvious improvement over the previous version, I can't wait to drive it! I was very impressed with the bold new look of the Tahoe, but we have already covered that on this site. Along with the the Tahoe and Avalanche we were given the oppourtunity to get upclose with the Solstice, Lucerne and G6's. All I can say is that the Lucerne literally stole the show. Everyone couldnt believe how nice it actually is. Pictures do not do it justice. Edited by CadillacCTS

Any word on the public release date of the 07 Avalanche as far as pictures go? And how was the front end more aggressive...more agressive then the current Gen Silverado? Or the current Gen cladded Av? Or just more aggresive then the 07 Tahoe? TIA

Is the avalanche different from the tahoe?

Yes, the front end is more truck like, more bold and has an aggressive look to it.

Does the front end distinguish it from the Tahoe front end, or are they the same thing? Is it more reserved like the Tahoe, or more bold like say the Escalade? Ive been waiting forever for the new Avalanche to surface, as it will most likely be my next truck. Any ideas on when theyre going to unveil this thing to the public?

GOOD! Not that I dislike the new Tahoe nose, but I really liked the fact that the Avalanche had it's own unique, and more appropriately aggressive front end from the beginning (if you forget the lousy Silverado nose on the WBH models).

Agreed wholeheartedly. I loved the original Avalanche, 2002-2003. The body hardware and nose made it look menacing, mean, and huge. It looked like a tank. The WBH Avalanches looked soft. That pleases me greatly to hear that the Avalanche has a more agressive front, even if the side got a more passive treatment.

Wow, GM is getting serious. You can tell when parts sharing is down between models that they seriously want to kick Toyota back to the other side of the Pacific.

A new day is dawning at GM and I can't wait for the cars to show face.

I'm surprised (and happy at the same time) that the Avalanche has a different front end.

Would you say the Tahoe or Avalanche front end was better?

I really liked the front end of the Avalanche it was much more truck like than the Tahoes front end. GM Canada told us that the front end of the Avalanche has some resemblance to the Silverado front end. They said the Silverado front end would be different yet from the Tahoe and Avalanche!

The Silverado is said to be significantly different from the current GMT800 brother and the rest of the GMT900's that have yet to be debuted. Very different!

Is this to lead us to believe that the posted pics of the Avalanche that were posted a while back were not the real deal........

the front end, though you can't exactly see it, looks very close to the Tahoe. It doesn't look any more "aggressive" than the Tahoe.

I thought that the front end on the Avalanche and the Silverado were going to be similar but different from the Tahoe. When they said different, I thought that meant that just by looking at the front of the two (Avalanche/Silverado vs. Tahoe) you would be able to definitively tell what you were looking at.

Glad to hear the Av is getting a unique front end. The uniqueness of the cladded Av, and mainly, the completely different more agressive front end, made that a no brainer when I got my 04 Av last year (and 03, the year before that)
