Supposedly they pay between something like $300 and $500 for it as well… which seems crazy to me, but hey, I’m just telling you what I heard. Anyway, apparently the “catch” (well, one of them) is that the husbands won’t leave you alone with their wives, so you’re going to have to get a strange Amish woman pregnant while her undoubtedly stern and disapproving husband watches over your shoulder. God, talk about a strange situation. But hey, some people might really get off on it, who knows?

Now that I think about it, I can see a logical basis for it. The Amish are a very closed community and their numbers aren't large in any given area. So, the hazards of too much inbreeding is very real. If they brought in some outside DNA, it would be a benefit to their community.

I live in Amish Country Ground Zero, and I've never heard of this. I agree with usonia, however, about the inbreeding thing. It's a danger to Amish culture.

Traditional conservatism, that being puleoconservatism, in other words the 'far Right,' does not, in any way, espouse that 'one control all' - a major tenet of fascism.

Nothing on the internet matched the keyword "puleoconservative" but did you mean "paleoconservative" instead? Because I read up on that...and yea...on the political spectrum they wouldn't be any further right than the current Republican party...and would probably be a little bit left due to not supporting a continued militaristic expansion. "The far right" can be in reference to a lot of things, but in terms of the political spectrum the paleoconservatives most certainly are not "far right."

C refers to Communism, D refers to Democrats, R to Republicans, and F to Fascists. The | denotes the center. In American politics, our two-party system is really two flavors of center. Go to Europe, and you will see that there are a lot of actual "extremists" that actually are far-right and far-left.

this is not just urban legend, i don't think. i'm pretty sure it was reported in the local major paper, too.
