GM has recalled its all-new crossovers, the GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook, because of potentially faulty airbag sensors. The recall affects all 13,032 of the vehicles on the road. The problem stems from a faulty sensor that controls the front airbags’ deployment. It will also prevent the vehicle from alerting owners of a malfunction.

GM says the problem is a software issue and can be remedied with a service — no parts need to be replaced — at the dealer at no cost to owners. The company discovered the problem during internal testing and no incidents have been reported.

:duh: You really didn't need this GM. These Lambdas are probably the biggest products that showcase what the new design driven GM is all about. Hearing a recall about a newly released, highly praised vehicle is just a big fat NO. I'm also glad they caught it early, but damn that is not what I wanted to hear. Edited by big blue

How does this affect the assembly lines and keeping up with demand? I just put in my order for an Acadia last Tuesday and was told 6 weeks to delivery. Is this going to put me out even further?

Not at all. It's a simple fix for already produced units, and the revision was already implemented on vehicles on the line, without causing any delay.
