Here she is, my car. Too bad I cant drive it because I am in college. Money doesnt grow on trees, as the old saying goes. Anyway here it is, my 6 speed 96 Z. I sure like the car. She is fun to play around with. Completely stock.

Officially, my record is 1-2. :( I raced a camaro and beat him once, then he beat me. It was a modified 96 with exhaust and some other goodies. I think he let me win though the first time. Then i raced an 05 mustang GT and got basically whooped on. At any rate, I beat a lot of rice cars, but I dont count that in my official record!

Miller, I'm pretty sure we all care about it. It's a good looking car, dude. And the photos are great. Funny thing though, I had to study the photo with your car parked diagonally across the road, it looked like oncoming traffic! Now I see the Civic Hybrid, Grand Cherokee, and Tundra (?) are parked. Thanks for posting, man. If it were me, college would be a drag without my 6 speed Z.

Miller: Awsome. Thank You for sharing. :) You hear me complaining and making fun of the 4th gen. but it's only cause Chevy Pontiac let them bleed to death on the operating room floor in 2002. The 4th gen. cars are awsome. A nice first gen car is like PURE perfection ot me. My dream car is a '69 Camaro after all... But make no mistake if a '69 Camaro is perfection at 100 points out of a 100, then the 4th ge. cars are not far behind, at like 97. Where as a typical '95 Mustang would rate at 80 or 85 and a Corvette from the same era '96 4th gen. would rate at the same 97ish. As soon as a fourth gen. wiht retro-69 Styling hits the streets I can finally stop subconsiously resenting the 4th gens. for not meeting the market expectations. I almost bought a few 4th gens. but in the end wanted to hold out for a classic one. A 4th gen. LT1 or LS1 car is a hell of a bargain right now!

Cool car, nice and clean. My first Camaro driving experience was with a white 96 Z28 4A that my dad leased. I had lots of fun with that car, and allthough the LT1 doesn't match the LS1's performance, it made the sweetest music out of the tailpipes. I also know how hard it is to keep a black car looking good, the car that replaced the 96 Z was exactly your Camaro but a 98 (also a 2 yr lease).

Yeah the black is very difficult. On days when it got especially dirty, I sometimes had to spend at least 4 hours cleaning it! Talk about an arm workout.

I kinda wish I had the LS series motor, but I am still satisfied with the car. It is fun to play around with, and this can be seen in the rear tires. I really need some new tires. Lol.

There were times I would wash the 98, and if the conditions weren't perfect (temp., light, humidity) it would either get water spots or water "smears." I finally learned that the only way to clean it and have it stay clean for a reasonable amount of time, was to wash/dry and then use one of those spray on wax things.

Anyway... both the LT and LS engines are fun, just in different ways. And yes, they can both eat up the rear tires B) I've somehow managed to get 28k on the OE set of F1's, and i'm currently working on 26k on the second set. BTW, I always loved the tread pattern on the Eagle GS-C!
