I looked up the "Special T" T-Type and all I found was that it had a Grand National exterior with a T-Type interior. Anyone know anymore about this like production numbers or what colours they came in. That Regal T-Type outside of my work looks to fit that description except for the fact that it is grey. I believe the guy may know what he has got because it has a T-Type dash pad cover and a sticker on the window with the National 6 logo.

I believe it was a trim package that gave a T-type the GN's painted bumpers and a few other trim items. If you ordered a black one it looked very close to the GN. The one you are looking at has chrome bumpers,so I doubt it has this option. There were quite a few options out there in those years and I can't remember all of the specifics. I would recommend finding a GN/T-Type site and doing some searching.

BTW: some T-types were non-turbo cars with a 305 V8. Confusing, isn't it?

How could the T-Type have a V8. I thought the T stood for turbo? I will check out other sites. The bumpers aren't original from what I can see. They looked brand new and weren't faded compared to the rest of the car. Up close, the bumpers look like they weren't mounted on exactly right to factory specs. There was quite a gap on the far side on the front.

PM me with the VIN and I'll give you the run down.

Probably missing a filler panel in front, When the shock absorbing bumpers are used in a light crash, manytimes the filler pnls are cracked or lost...

Also, the mounts for these G-body bumpers often rust out quick, so you have to fab new mounts or replace bumper asm's in snowy climates.

You could have a 307 in a t-type. It is a sport package for the Regal. My brother owns one of the rarest turbo t-type's which is a WE-4 which looks like a Grand National (all blacked out) but isn't.

The T-Type was given to both the Regal and GN. There was no GNX T-Type b/c the T-top added to much weight.

ummm... you mean no GNX T-tops were made.
