NorthWest Chairman Sold Stocks!

Recommended Posts

Posted
Four weeks before Northwest filed for bankruptcy, Northwest Chairman Gerald Wilson sold about one-third of his Northwest stock at about five and a half dollars a share. Since bankruptcy, Northwest stock has been less than a dollar. Congresswoman Candice Miller of Macomb County said Wilson is a greedy coward. “Here you have an individual who should be demonstrating leadership… for Northwest Airlines, and instead of that, he couldn’t wait to sell his stock off a month before he must have known fully well that they were going to be declaring bankruptcy. Again, just another unfortunate example – in my observation – of corporate greed,” explained Miller. A spokesperson for Northwest said Wilson would not answer questions. A written statement said Wilson's stock sale was in accordance with Securities and Exchange Commission rules.

No one should have been suprised even in Mid-July that NWA was going into bankrupcy. If you'd flown them recently, you'd know.

NorthWest isn't a bad airline. I actually like them. They are one of a very few that offer direct flights from IND to LAX (and vice versa if you're lucky). For my winter recess flight schedule, I go LAX-DTW, then DTW-IND, but the return is direct baby! I've never been to DTW before...is it a good airport, or is it nasty? Be honest.
