Nov. 2006 Sales: Nissan North America

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 1, 2006) – Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported sales of 76,015 units in November, a decrease of 1.6 percent from the prior year. Nissan Division sales decreased by 1.8 percent over last year. Infiniti Division posted a sales increase by 0.2 percent versus the prior year.  

NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS

· November sales for Nissan-brand vehicles of 65,633 units decreased by 1.8 percent on a daily sales rate basis compared with last year’s 66,849 units sold.

· The all-new Versa, Altima, and Sentra contributed to the car segment increase, up 13.2 percent year-over-year.

· The Altima had its best November ever with sales of 18,203 units, up 20.1 percent over last year, reflecting the strong start for the all-new model.

· The new Versa subcompact continued to build momentum with sales of 3,324 units.

INFINITI HIGHLIGHTS

· Sales for Infiniti were up 0.2 percent, with 10,382 units sold, as compared with last November’s 10,363 units.

· The all-new G35 sedan was off to a good start with sales of 4,229 units, up 29.8 percent over last year. This marks its best November ever and second best month ever.

· The M also set a November record with sales of 2,015 units.

And someone wanted to have an alliance with this company.

X-Terra, Pathfinder and Frontier are in their third model year (2005 was the first and they are already tanking in sales.)

I am amazed by how much 350Z tanked. Wonder if they are gonna get a replacement. The MCE Maxima is also underpar.

G-35 coupe has also dropped but considering a new one on the horizon people might be just hedging.

Had it not been the Altima, Versa and the G-35 sedan, Nissan would have been in disaster.

Titan, Armada are slowing too. Wonder how will GM's pickups do. Considering both Nissan and F150 down. Didn't Edmunds name the Titan most significant vehicle for 2005? :lol:

Pathfinder is holding steady and Frontier sales are up YTD.

The Z isn't a suprise: 4th model year going on 5th plus sports cars and approaching winter sales don't mix.

It's a given that the new Altima will always steal the older Maxima's thunder.
