No - I am unsure about the logistics of building the SLS over in Lansing and I have yet to check into it because I cannot do it at the moment.

aha, it was just the first thought that crossed my mind when i saw the DTS-L story. I look forward to any insight you and others might provide once you are able to do so. Edited by ZL-1

These pictures show a much more competitive interior - not world-class, but pretty damn nice.  The STS continues to be too timid in design, however, and doesn't really make a statement.

I remember following this program (much thanks to evok) back in the day.  From the things I remember being tossed around about the pre-Lutz STS were: poor stance, disproportinate greenhouse, cheap bumper designs, etc...but I collected that the design was alot more ballsy than what came out - similar to the LaCrosse program.  Now that GM seems to be fixing the 'interior' program, it'd be great if they could recapture the forward thinking concepts from the late 90s (ie more balls) while using the newfound discipline that the former organization clearly lacked.

I agree.... Most of the late 90s concepts had excellent elements that would still be fresh today as opposed to the 90s concept-touched-up-rehashed Chrysler that some of GM's cars possess.

If the STS/SLS becomes the S-class competitor, it will need the options loadout of it as well, especially the V-12.

Only a handful of grosser limousines are sold with V12s. By far the majority in the US are lwb V8s 4" longer than the SLS.

Just having the option alone is a huge benefit to have in this type of market, even if the take rate isn't high.
