unexplained stalling?

i noticed alot that if my car is hot and I run in to a store or junkyard for about 30-45 minutes then i get in the car go to start it it will start then kinda misfire and stall it will do this repeatedly untill after you start it you floor it until it revs up then let it back down to idle and it runs fine after that. never does this on cold starts or if it was just running.

pretty much all the ignition system was replaced in feburary this year.

plugs wire cap rotor coil and ignition module

any ideas?

I got a new cataliytic conveter and flowmasters installed this past year. but the fuel lines dont run that close to it that would cause that. since i checked that out when i replaced my fuel filter.

the first guesses (and cheapies) could be a crank sensor, fuel pump relay, or the ecm.

i would check at night to see if any wires are arching. i caught a problem with the

spark plug wires like that. they were too close to the manifold and singed.

finally it could be the timing chain starting to go.

id also get some carb cleaner and see if that helps.

That could exlpain the flooring it part...

Sounds like a problem with the Throttle Position Sensor, but if it was, you'd normally get a "check engine" light.

may i will go around and replace them another fourm said it was a leaky fuel injector flooding the intake. thoughts on that?

the only CES code i have been getting lately is VSS vechicle speed sensor, and since its a 95 dollar part it gonna wait untill the spedddo is way off. or should i replace it immediatly?

I know my car is limited on sensors, but i will check the ones i have. unless you guys are mistaken about i have to floor the car while its stalling (misfireing) to get it to catch and run porperly, then let it to idle, it doesnt do that automatically.

Also what about idle solenoids? since it only does this at idle.

you might have just got some bad gas.

Idle soleniod, or Idle Air Control Valve could cause it to stall out some when cranking, since it acts like a choke during initial start-up to help the engine warm up, and you can normally clean them out with some carb cleaner, just like you would clean out an EGR valve.

I have also had stalling caused by a stuck EGR valves... Pending the last time you changed your O2 sensor....fresh ones never hurt. It' funny how a carboned sensor will trick an engine, next I would check fuel delivery

the o2 sensor is from the factory. I do plan to replace it soon.
