Connection Problems

Can anyone explain why my connection has headed south literally overnight? Yesterday, I managed to get a decent dial-up connection of around 46.6. Tonight, I've gotten nothing but a lousy 28.8. Usually, disconnecting and reconnecting fixes the problem on the off chance it happens. But now, it's all I get.

Running at half-speed just doesn't work. And I can't tolerate a slow connection.

Any way I can get my connection back to normal speed? This is getting aggravating.

If it helps, here's the Modem Log.

No. Not that I can think of. The weather has been rather nice and calm recently.

If you go and get blazed on some Cannabis it will seem like normal speed.

Somtimes its on the ISP side and not yours.

So the ISP is the problem? Would contacting them yield a solution.

If it's this slow tomorrow, I'll cancel my service with them. I'm not going to wait thirty minutes for one Wikipedia page to load.

SBC DSL has done me good and with a complaint when my bill went to 50 after the 14.99 deal was up i got it lowered to 14.99 for another yaer then it will go to 19.99 after that. decent speed 1300kbs down and 398kbs up i think

I still have my $5 a month AOL as a back up tho.

Or do you have massive amounts of porn stockpiled on your computer?

but call and complain sometimes they will tell you do stuff that will make it faster.

What internet provider do you use?

Same as you, BV; PeoplePC online.

Or do you have massive amounts of porn stockpiled on your computer?

Nah. Not since early '06. :D

And you are right, Cap'. It's the ISP causing the problem. I'm now up to a 46.6 connection and things are running smooth again. When I finally find a job, however, I'm going to try to go to a high-speed provider.
