The Lions have been horrible for along time, and it looks like they are still horrible.

It doesn't matter if they suck, because they will sell out every game and be the talk on every sports talk show in Detroit and fools like me will continue to watch their sorry asses.

Millen sucks.

Another bad thing, they are owned by a Ford.

I am trying hard to PICK my favorite highlight of the KITTIES game today.

LOL

actually, I stupidly dropped the Vikings D from my fantasy team this week. What was I thinking? I also had picked up Kitna and started Roy Williams, too bad they didn't score for me that much!

Millen returning; Lions 24-72 under his watch

Another subpar season won't cost Lions president Matt Millen his job.

Six Years Later ...

The record since president Matt Millen was hired in 2001 by the Detroit Lions, who are an NFL-worst 24-72 in that time:

Year W-L-T How finished

2001 2-14-0 Last in NFC Central

2002 3-13-0 Last in NFC Central

2003 5-11-0 Last in NFC Central

2004 6-10-0 Third in NFC North

2005 5-11-0 Third in NFC North

2006 3-13-0 Last in NFC North

Millen, who has a 24-72 record in his first six seasons, will return next season. He still has four years left on the contract extension he was given last season.

Millen said Tuesday that quitting is not an option he has considered despite criticism of the team's dismal performance in his tenure.

"I'll never quit,'' Millen said in an interview with a small group of reporters, including The Detroit News, which posted some of his comments on its Web site. "I can't do that. I don't even consider that."

"It's the way I'm made."

Asked why he wouldn't quit, Millen replied: "You're given a job, regardless of what it is. You keep on working and trying to get the thing done."

The Lions beat Dallas on Sunday, closing the season an NFC-low 3-13.

They won on Sunday which cost them the #1 pick in the draft. I'm sure they will find a fine WR to use the second pick on.

not really... Oakland got their QB only 2 years ago... look for them to take an Offensive lineman... 70+ sacks on the season... they need QB protection more than anything...

The lions will still get Brady Quinn... fresh out of Notre Dame... unfortunately... going to Detroit he will continue with his severe case of Peyton Manning Syndrome (great QB, poor team, chokes in the big games)

Nah, if Quinn isn't taken #1 by Oakland (or whoever Oakland trades its pick with) the Lions will pass on him for a receiver. Its what they do. Doesn't matter if they dont have anyone to throw the ball or anyone to block to allow the running game to be more effective or anyone to play defense, they will take a receiver because he will "have the most upside of any player available."
