It seems that you cannot hold up as sign at the NASCAR races that says that you "Hate Toyotas" or you will be arrested.

Read this:

Sunday August 20, 2006 This man Bill Bagwell (the founder of fansagainestracingtoyotas.com) was at the NASCAR race in Michigan he was holding this sign up at the pre-race television show Race day on Speed TV. He had been among the fans holding signs for over a hour. Their were many signs some positive about NASCAR drivers and teams and some not so positive. During a break the producer came over and told Bill he could no longer hold his Toyota sign up. Bill told him that this race was still being held in the USA and that he had freedom of speech. The producer said he agreed with Bill but NASCAR was yelling into his headphones that he had to get Bill's sign down. The producer told Bill if you show that sign one more time you will be arrested. Bill protested but realized that he was out numbered when the security guards started to surround him so he did as he was told and he no longer held his sign up. What is NASCAR afraid of? Do the Frances now do as Toyota tells them? We thought they were in charge of NASCAR or is who ever has the newest money the one who calls the shots? During this TV show in their have been all kind of signs held up. The women standing next to Bill had a negative sign about Carl Edwards she was not told to put her sign down. Fans always hold up controversial signs. Signs that question different drivers sexual preferences, signs that talk about drivers not being good or drivers being great. Was Bills sign so threatening that NASCAR was willing to violate Bills 1st amendment rights? Tell us what you think of this terrible violation of Bills rights.

Once again I will say

Its amazing whats legal and whats illegal in this country

Way to go Bill........but you should have stood your ground firmly, with a friend and a video camera of course.

I suppose what they would have done was throw him off of the grounds and thats about it. Security guards do not equal arrest. Im sure Toyota money was exactly what had to do with it.

So now send in the C&G police because

ASIAN CARS................and SATURIN..............SUCK !

I

HATE

THEM ALL

I think we should launch a counter attack...

The Crown Victoria should compete in the

Japanese Drifting Championships next year.

Who cares about ASSCAR, anyway? I don't.

I hope Toyota climbing on this recently found Psuedo-American bandwagon and getting into ASSCAR offends enough rednecks to kill it. I'm sick of ASSCAR taking up the whole Sunday night line-up at FOX.

At least with NASCAR you don't know who is going to win and there are plenty of lead changes. Not F1.

Imagine a league where innovation was rewarded (like F1) but with a more substantial body to the car, so that they could really "race" (like NASCAR).

That I would watch. As it is, I have a slight interest in F1 and NASCAR, but don't watch either.

So funny to hear bowtiedude use the word white trash, a bit of an identity crisis there "dude".............. your the worst kind........one in denial.

I guess if White Trash is acceptable so is Niger, Queer, Fagot, Whop, Spic, Pollock and all the rest ?

Well that was actually fun ! I see how people today get off so much on the whole "shock" thing............... :nono:

Anyhow for those still breathing

There are race series that promote innovation and do offer excitement

ALMS series

Rolex Grand American Series and Grand Am cup series.

Formula One is a bit of a drag, the fastest cars & drivers are so fast and so close that passing is impossible. Its almost always done in the pits. In very few races are there actually passes for and serious positions made. This is a problem with road racing, narrow tracks with turns coming continously passing is so hard. F1 for me is fun, just to watch the amazing speed and graze that they devour the road with.

Champ car is very aggressive but less interesting from a vehical standpoint. I think there is only two or three basic cars and littel different than the color between them. Highly competitive, fast, crazy and eventful.

In Nascar one guy just lets of the gas and suddenly you see this car with great speed, go flying by.... :scratchchin:

Jeff Gordon is a great driver, well known by many of the road track guys. They have been trying to turn him to drive some real cars for quite a while now. I guess the money talks louder.

Who can blame the drivers, there is alot of money in Nascar, some how all those "white trash" people manage to buy those expensive tickets and do the drive to attend races.................must be welfare is footing the bill............

I already miss what NASCAR once was, I won't miss what it has become - even if Toyota wasn't involved.

Agreed. NASCAR stopped being cool in the late 80s, if not mid 7os.

Heh, I got tired of defending Nascar ages ago, so no problem. :P

If you can, find some old NASCAR footage from the 1950's and early 1960's. That is basically what you are looking for and what NASCAR diehards love. Sure they weren't as fast, but nothing beats watching nearly stock cars going at breakneck speed on skinny bias plys. :D

Essentially... Though, I'd say Nascar's best years were in the 70s and 80s. Just ask Bill Elliot. :D
