Here's me lists:

Current (meaning, on my parents' wages):

    [*]GMC Acadia (metallic gray)

    [*]Pontiac GTO (blue)

    [*]Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe (yellow)

[*]My current Camaro, but much more modified

Not too distant future (5 years or so -- my own wages):

    [*]2010 Camaro SS

[*]Used Cobalt SS Turbo or Supercharged as a beater

After I've got a family:

[*]Maybe still that 2010 Camaro SS

[*]New Corvette (not sure the model)

    [*]Mid-size GM SUV

Ultimate Dream list:

    [*]2010 Camaro SS

    [*]Ferrari F430

    [*]Aston Martin DB9

    [*]2008 Viper Coupe

Now:

[*]A black 1998 - 2002 Pontiac Firebird with performance and discreet exterior modifications.

Not too distant future (after college and one year designing at Design North Studio...if GM hires me):

[*]Used 2010 Camaro SS or Z28.

[*]Used 2006 Dodge Charger.

[*]The Firebird listed above. (I plan on keeping it until I pretty much croak.)

After a wife and kids:

[*]The Charger, Firebird, and Camaro above.

[*]Used 2009 Chevrolet Silverado crew cab.

[*]Classic Pontiac GTO of any year or a 1966 Olds Toronado. (The only front-drive car I drool about, really, is the Toro.)

[*]Whatever the wife drags in. :D

A B-Body card could fit in the deck somewhere, too... :scratchchin:8)

If I had unlimited money and a airplane hangar:

[*]1980s Ford Tempo with shift-on-the-fly 4WD (A winter beater. Plus, it has to be the quirkiest and crappiest sedan Ford has ever made.)

[*]1966 Oldsmobile Toronado

[*]1970 Pontiac GTO

[*]1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

[*]1996 Chevrolet Impala SS

[*]1996 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1*

[*]2010 Chevy Camaro

[*]2009 Chevy Impala

[*]2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP

[*]1998 Pontiac Firebird Formula

[*]2004 Ford Crown Vic P71 Interceptor*

[*]2002 Ford Mustang P71*

[*]2006 Dodge Charger Cop Car*

[*]2009 Dodge Challenger (Why not? I've got a Mustang and a Camaro in here.)

[*]2005 Chrysler 300C

[*]1969 Dodge Charger

[*]1967 Chevrolet C10*

[*]1967 Pontiac Firebird

[*]1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS RS

[*]1969 Chevrolet Corvette ZL1

[*]1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

[*]2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

[*]1986 Buick GNX

And that's it. :D8)

*Indicates modified car/project car.

My dream garage would have a bed, sink, oven, refrigerator, bathtub, and toilet. Maybe a computer, too, in case I need to look something up. I'd want enough space for 10 cars, initially, with plenty of property to expand should my desires change. Of course, a huge work area with a lift, overhead engine crane, paint booth, and huge air compressor, and enough space to store the parts to a work in progress. And I'd like the property surrounded by a fence made out of crushed Toyotas.

As to what to fill it with, well, ask me this question tomorrow and I'll probably give a different answer for #3-10. Here goes:

1. My current Cobalt. I have no intentions of getting rid of it just yet.

2. My Corvette once it's done...it'll occupy the work area until then

3. 04-06 GTO.

4. 1967 Corvette L88. No such thing as too many Corvettes

5. Silverado SS - gotta have something to haul stuff with. I'll take the GMT800 SS, though I'm sure the GMT900 SS will be a heck of a lot better

6. STS-V - this'll be my token status mobile, for when I need to show up the Bimmer guys (sorry Nick)

7. 1963 Olds Cutlass F-85 Convertible - don't ask me why, I just like these cars for some reason.

8. 05-up Corvette - see #3

9. 70-73 Camaro Z/28 RS. Red w/black stripes.

10. 5th gen Camaro convertible - also a Z/28

I'm UNpretentious compared to most of you guys:

- a Chevrolet Monte Carlo LT with a 3.5 V6 VVT as a daily driver

- a Buick LaCrosse CX or Grand Prix base with a 3800 V6 for occasions when I have have to lug around people and need 2 extra doors

- a Pontiac GTO (or what about a new F-bird as a twin to the new Camaro?) as a toy car (driven on rare occasions and babied the rest of the time)

And it all fits within a 3-car garage.

Now (on my current budget):

3 car garage:

My current '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee for daily driver/winter use

An E46 BMW M3 coupe (upgrade from my current E36 M3)

My '87 Mustang GT

4 years from now, when I'm 40:

Same as above, but replace the Jeep with an X5, add 2 more garage spaces for a late '90s NSX and my '69 Mustang Mach 1 (currently in storage in Ohio).

My ideal--15 car garage (win the lottery, my current stock options gain value, whatever):

Same 5 cars as above, plus:

oldies:

'70 Mustang Mach 1

'71 Ford LTD convertible

'71 Buick Riviera

'72 Chevy Impala sport coupe

'70 Dodge Challenger R/T

late model:

Porsche 911 C4S

Porsche Boxster S

E39 BMW M5

Caddy STS-v

'09 Camaro Z-28

or something similar to that... :)

Jazz's dream garage:

The road trip car: Chrysler 300C, midnight blue, bone stock

The daily driver: 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, hunter green with the V-8 . The very first Grand Cherokee, and just about the only Jeep, period, with an eight-slot grille.

The fuel sipper: Ford Focus ZX3, black, SVT mods

The family hauler: That new Buick CUV would suit me fine; that thing is sharp - in pure white with chrome rims

The classic: Low miles Buick Reatta convertible, in bright blue

I'm three-fifths away from assembling that garage, too! :)

Too funny. Looks just like the garages in the home magazines at the supermarket.

I love that signature. I would especially like it if it was a 76 Pontiac Grand Le Mans coupe just like the one that Wildmanjoe once dug up for me!

Well, if I had an airport hangar and theft was an option, I figure I'd just steal Jay Leno's car collection. Lets see him make a punchline or monologue about that. Wait, it's Jay Leno... he can't stop being funny!

Anyway, I'm going to be realitively modest

1. 1987 Corvette...

2. 2007 (or latest model) GMC HD 2500 Duramax

3. Go Kart! :smilewide:

4. Russian T-90 Battle Tank (In case the neighours little punks get noisy)

5. M1A2 Abrams Battle Tank (In case aforementioned T-90 is out of service)

If I could afford the cars you guys are mentioning, I would just change my car every 3 months or so. Better yet, I would buy a local GM Dealer just so I could change my car weekly.

Speaking of big garages, between the barn and the two 2 car garages, my parents' place in Ohio has enough room for a Winnebago and 15 cars... for years they had that many there, between their cars, my cars, and my brother's cars..

Would like a working full-size replica of the 'center-steer' Tucker proposal, plus one of the '53 Cadillac LeMans' (original, not the '59 upgrade).

I would settle most comfortably for having my current 3 project vehicles done to my standards.

1969-70 Bel-Air.

1971-76 Impala or Caprice.

1977-79 Impala.

1980-84 Caprice.

1985-90 Caprice.

1994-96 Caprice.

1980-84 Citation.(3 door hatch with V6.)

1978-80 Malibu.

1978 Camaro Z-28.

1968-74 Nova(4-door). I had to be different.

2006 Monte Carlo. 3.9 liter V6 would be fine.

2005-2006 Equinox.( I love mine).

2006 HHR.

1976-79 Dodge Aspen.

1980-84 Buick Park Avenue.

1987 Buick Grand National.

1979 Buick Riviera.

1989-92 Cadillac Brugham.

1981 Bonneville( Maybe I am a little biased).

2004-2006 GTO.

There are more and if and when there is time I will add them.

Four cars: a '68 and '69 Chrysler 300, both convertibles.

'69 and '72 Chrysler Imperial, 4 door hardtops.

all loaded, buckets on the 300s

I love those fuselage-styled cars. I like the muscle cars too, but let's face it - most of them drove like grocery carts, and I am addicted to power windows, locks, etc.

I'd take half the cars on sixty8's list, but I've found when I've driven cars that are older than the mid-60s, they look good but their performance/handling/ride leave much to be desired.

All right, my dream garage. Of course my 1976 Chevrolet C10 2WD (family heirloom, can't ever ever ever get rid of it).

1970 SS454 Chevelle two-door

1996 9C1 Impala SS

1985 K5 Blazer w/ 502-crate swap, T56 transmission, running on 32" boggers

Dodge Magnum w/ the hemi (Wife wants one, must submit to her wishes)

And finally one (1) 2007 Silverado 3500 HD crew cab dually with Duramax and Allison.

I have recently had a change of emotions on car stables, sending 4 vehicals of my own straight to the junk yard without batting an eye. Two of which were "dream cars of mine" a 86 Riviera and a 76 Delta 88 2dr hardtop. BOth of which were great origional owner cars, One needing little work and the other already having well over 300 hours of hard labor. I nearly sent them all but pulled back on the 75 convertable and our old 86 LeSabre 2dr.

It took awhile but I now understand the huge commitment and vast amount of man hours needed to maintain a stable let alone restify or customize cars that "need a little TLC"

Now I feel if I had the financial resources I would only pursue one car, the car that most stimulates me out of all cars.

Hmm... at the moment, it's the CL65 AMG, the pinnacle of absolute luxury, effortless speed, and useful technology, IMO.

* 612 hp/738 lb-ft

* PRE-SAFE: brakes, adjusts/inflates seats, and warns driver when crash is imminent

* DISTRONIC PLUS: completely foot-free cruise control, even during stop-and-go traffic

* hardtop

* Intelligent Light System: five headlight functions to match weather/driving conditions (bi-xenon, of course)

* radar parking: measures length of potential parallel parking space and provides steering angle guidance (w/camera, of course)

* infared headlamps

* keyless ignition, of course

* heated/ventilated active seats, of course

* and clever details like a dehumidifier (no window fogging/defrosting), seatbelt-use sensors that dictate A/C priority and passenger headrest position, memory card slot, infinite vehicle settings adjustments through COMAND (like how long the rear license plate light stays on after exiting the car)

I also have a thing for the TrailBlazer SS right now...

Am I the only one who saw the title of the thread and started thinking about actual features of the garage (garage size, tools, etc) versus just a huge list of cars?

Tell us more about your intense love of Dodge Aspens.

My sister had a 1979 2-door S/E/. It did have the slant six. I thought it was a fairly classy car with the half vinyl rood and the opera windows.

Why not sell those "soon to be classic" GMs instead of just junking them?

Don;t you think a 1986 Riviera & esp. a 1976 Delta 88 semi-laguna semi

hardtop deserve one lest chance at life before you throw them in the

crusher like some 1993 Camry with a rotted out strut tower? Maybe you

don't have the $$$, time, space or enrgy to bring them back to

roadworthy buit that does not mean NOBODY else out there will... make

an effort and sell themfor $300 each instead of taking $75 in junkyard

credit a piece. :(

Yeah, you say that about a half-ton pickup.... Imagine pushing the HUGE spring clutch in on something old, like say the bastard that's in the '66 International that's currently occupying our shop.

Posted

when i got the truck it was easy compared to some of the farm equipement i drove and some very old un reconizable trucks. just a seat dash engine frame and bed no fenders or anthing. but now that im spoiled i dont think i would enjoy going back to them. the first hydra. clutch was in my 85 blazer and the first time i hit the clutch i thought i was going to push it through the floor board.

Posted

I drove an old beat up 1980s Ford F350 once that had the clutch

from hell... I'd imagine it was hydraulic but damn it was like the

thing reqired more effort to push the clutch in then it did to

propell it down the road.

its not that hard give alot of gas drop the clutch burn some rubber. so its not a efficent start but hey your not stoped any more. Yes I do go through alot of clucthes. but ill be silky smooth when needed.

There's a handfull of cars that do not automatically suck even though they're

FWD. :P The list is short and the only one with a transverse mounted motor is

the original Austin MINI. Other cars, with longitudinally mounted motors

include the Cord L29 & 810, 67 Razorback Eldorado, 66 Toronado & Bustleback

I guess there's a few semi-cool FWD cars by my deffinition. like just off the top

What Mafia are you referring to? What is it a Playstation game or something?
