From Autoweek:

New Volkswagen honcho Wolfgang Bernhard is big on dreams: working on them, driving them, making them come true, and VW is clearly dreaming big with its newest drop-top, which went from concept (in the form of the Concept C) to production reality in just 18 months. The four-place cabrio/coupe features a nifty, retractable five-section hardtop roof, five engine choices ranging from 115 to 250 hp and transmission options including the DSG direct-shift gearbox. The Eos will launch next spring in Europe and should hit the States sometime later in '06.

I honestly believe a cloth top would have improved its looks tremendously. As it is, it is disproportionate with the top up. The door handles look too low. I'd like to see more of the blue one next to the silver one.

Talk about an ass! Damn... it looks big; truckish. The top looks small and short. Those don't mix well. Reduce the rear and lengthen the top... it will look good. I also think a cloth top would look better. I'm not really a fan of hard top convertables... Oh.. the name royally sucks.

"supposedly" the top roof panel, can fold under like a large sunroof. This begs the question is that safe? Doesn't removing a piece of the roof, especially with no B pillar, make it more dangerous if the car flips?

I'd expect it to have pop-up rollover bars or something, like the New Beetle Cabrio's.
