Pauwels Does The Malibu

I think the headlights are a little off, but everything else looks pretty good.

Agreed. Cribbing the headlights from a Dodge is a guarantee for inaccuracy. Rest looks good though.

ETA: Upon second glance, the beltline and greenhouse are way too aggressive...but what the hell, it's an awesome sketch.

Hmmmm... cool. If it was RWD, I'd hit it. :)

Automobile Rag said that GM may cram a V8 in this.

How credile is that statement? Probably slim to nil.

Anyhow, great job Chris. (By the way, if you're reading this, does GMS hire you to do these...?)

I'd say a V8 in it is feasible. Especially if/when it jumps to Zeta (it's going on Zeta eventually, right?). At least a small V8.. 5.3L or so.

Chris, I believe, does this as a favor to Josh. I could be wrong, but I know Josh has helped Chris in the past, so I'd guess Chris is just doing some repayment.

Well, a V8 may be feasible. The Epsilion platform, after all, is almost as big as the W-Body, if not larger with the updated platform.

As for the Malibu moving to Zeta, I have no clue but seriously doubt it. Impala's the Zeta car. :AH-HA_wink: :D

Ah, alright then.

Sure a V8 may fit, but that should get saved for the Impala.

Just give it the smooth HF 3.6L and the six speed auto and we'll have a nice Toyota Camry competitor right here.

Give it a pushrod 3.5 and a four speed on the other hand... and the critics will crucify it and Consumer Reports will give it yet another "Coarse Powertrain" comment.

read the toronto star Aura review. the pushrod mill gets a quick mention but the 3.6hf dohc and six speed combo gets absolute raves.

either combo moves the car. but good reviews and a better overall driving experience moves the buyer faster into the car. Maybe GM will finally figure it out and get the connection as to why everyone's been trashing their cars for years and years.
