DETROIT – It’s time to rev up the fun as HUMMER rolls into McDonald’s for a pint-sized promotion. Beginning August 4 – August 31, 2006, young guests will receive one of eight powerful, fun-fueled miniature HUMMER vehicles, with the purchase of a Happy Meal ® or Mighty Kids Meal ®, at participating McDonald’s restaurants, while supplies last.

Always ready for adventure, HUMMER’s iconic vehicle design and unparalleled off-road capabilities spark the imagination of children nationwide. McDonald’s Happy Meal and Mighty Kids Meal HUMMER line-up features eight dynamic vehicles, capturing the power, excitement and unique styling that make HUMMER one of the most recognizable vehicles on (and off) the road.

-The Metallic Sand H1 is a free wheeling vehicle with a retractable winch – pull out the winch to watch it retract.

-Rev the Red Flame H1 SUV or the Black H3T forward to send them powering ahead, or pull back the Midnight Blue H3 X to watch it steer forward slowly and then pick up speed.

-The Desert Orange H3 SUV and Slate Blue Metallic H2 SUT feature wind up spare tires and are ready to off-road with a special switch to guide them forward, left or right.

-The Yellow H2 SUV charges forward when pulled back

-The Laser Blue H2H offers a truly enlightening ride – push the vehicle along to see the hydrogen tank flash green. For added fun, guests can customize their H2H with custom-applied “Hydrogen” stickers.

This dynamic collection captures the power, excitement and unique styling that make HUMMER one of the most recognizable vehicles on (and off) the road.

McDonald’s guests have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of food choices with their Happy Meals and Mighty Kids Meals including Apple Dippers (fresh, peeled apple slices) served with low-fat caramel dipping sauce, and beverage choices including 100% pure Minute Maid apple juice and low-fat white and chocolate Milk Jugs, served in easy to handle containers.

I saw those in a display. They start putting them in happy meals in a week or so. not the best quality or detail, but hey, the're made for McDonalds. They're all still pretty cool looking nonetheless.

Will we be getting plastic Buick Lacrosses in boxes of Oatmeal Crisp anytime soon?

Or maybe everytime you buy an "Eagles" CD, you have a chance to win a brand new Lucerne!

Speaking of toy cars, I have two of the Hot Wheels Fusions out of Fruit Loops boxes, I didn't win the free car, which is fine by me, since the one they're giving away is exactly the same as my car.

Well, I have my H2H. I can't believe how cheap little LEDs have become. A decade ago, something that lights up as it moves would've had a friction drive that simply sparked.

They are made with cheap plastic, it'd be better if they were just Hot Wheels Hummers, then at least you'd getr metallic paint and shiny wheels.

Yeah, but then they'd cost money instead of $0.00.

Not really, I still have a couple Hot Wheels cars I got from McDonalds when I was little, a Camaro actually.

I remember as a kid when McDonald's happy meal Hot Wheels were regular Hot Wheels--metal bodies, metal chassis... I have some somewhere in my stash, along with some Burger Chef specials..

sometime in the '90s they went to stuff specially made for MCD's that were mostly plastic.

So....I guess this kinda advertising really does work. My cousin Tana just bought a 2006 H2. She is a doctor, and just made the last payment on her student loans, and the car she had been driving was creaping up on 150,000 miles so she was in the market for a new vehicle. She and her husband came down here to Fargo to look at the local dealers, so I went with her. She was thinking she was going to get a Tahoe or an Escalade becuase they needed something bigger for their 2 younger kids. As we were headed over to the dealer, her son Morgan saw the arches and started yelling that he wanted some Mcnuggets, so she pulled in to get him something to eat, hopeing that it would keep him happy while we were looking around. She got him a happy meal, with a Hummer, that gave her the idea. She said, I never thought about a Hummer, her husband, Max imediately chimed in about the gas mileage that you would get with a H2, but to be honest, it really wasn't his decision, she works and he stays home with the kids, so she pays the bill and she was going to get whatever she wanted. We test drove an Escalade ESV, a Tahoe, and an H2, she picked the H2, not becuase she thought it was the best out of the 3 (because it was a tough choice between the slade and the H2 for her) but she liked the idea that not everyone has one, and that it is somewhat unique (at least up here). Her husband ended up being pretty excited about it, since he is an avid outdoorsman and will most likely be taking it on hunting trips where a Hummer might actually be needed, instead of just driving back and forth to work like she will be using it for.

I just wanted to say that it took me five Happy Meals to finally get the H3T pickup! I have three yellow H2 SUVs (the litte guys each have one), the green H2 SUT (again, the very little guy has this one), and of course the dark blue H3T (mine, mine - it's all mine!).
