We'll have to agree to disagree.  I think the Impala SS is fair game: the Camry V6 delivers 90% of the horsepower that the SS delivers.

but the v8 small block SS doesn't weigh a lot. its barely heavier than the pushrod v6s.

just dont want anyone pulling the bs flag...

and no... if you look at toyota with the Resturant philospophy... they cant even get their "chefs specialty" prius right... the camry has transmission and engine problems, the avalon has suspension and steering problems, the echo had engine problems, the tundra has suspension faults...

so when a statement is said like ".....except that Toyota hits on the "engineering" and "execution" parts of the equation......."

i wonder... what they were thinking...

the only execution that has been done well over the last decade is PR... because i've been on the side of the road in a toyota more than enough times...

Don't think engineering or execution is necessarily the same thing as reliability.....

I'm referring to:

A V6 that is far and above superior in power, fuel economy, NVH, overall driveability than any of GM's pushrod V6s (and maybe EVEN the HF V6s)...

....a (so everyone says) "dated" Camry architecture that doesn't force Camry owners to put up with inefficient packaging, ungainly front-and-rear overhangs, or a compromise between ride and handling...

An interior design that avoids "corporate look" thanks to what appear to be Camry-specific gauges, center stack controls, etc.

Five'll get you ten the next generation of Toyota cars will share the Camry's general interior looks.

Also, its been how many decades since Japanese have been making electronics and yet the clock readout color still doesn't match the gauges...sad.
