Honda Pilot Production to be Fully Moved to AL

Posted Image

Yes, it's pretty much a slow news day...

Honda of America Mfg. Inc. says it will move all Pilot cross/utility vehicle production to its Lincoln, AL, plant in February to free up capacity to build 60,000 more Civics annually in North America.

“We have been challenged to keep up with record customer demand for our lineup of fuel-efficient cars and trucks,” Dick Colliver, executive vice president-American Honda Motor Co. Inc., says in a statement. “Our flexible production system is a wonderful tool that enables Honda to better meet the demand of our customers and dealers in an efficient and timely way.”

Honda will begin building the Civic in April at its Alliston, Ont., Canada, Plant 2, which the auto maker says won’t increase current production capacity of 390,000 units annually.

It's really a shame the UAW couldn't close any deals with the foreign-owned auto factories. We'd have so much more money coming into our economy.
