The German automaker's largest unit, which includes the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands, sold 175,556 vehicles during September, up from 168,744 a year ago. GM cannot sell cars if they don't PRODUCE more cars. In KY, the dealerships are almost bare. Try going to a car lot and finding a HHR, Solstice, Malibu SS or Impala SS. In Central KY, you won't find one. One dealer said he plans to order a HHR and told me he will call me when it comes in! One HHR!! In a city of 30,000 people! Don't go car shopping in KY unless you want to find a lot full of Tahoes and Suburbans!

The Japanese automaker sold 93,540 vehicles during the month, up from 80,350 in September 2004. Car sales rose 26.5 percent to 56,134 vehicles as truck sales inched up 3.9 percent to 37,406 units. ET Subaru of America Inc. said Monday that its U.S. vehicle sales grew 1.6 percent in September, led by its new B9 Tribeca -- a luxury sport utility vehicle -- and higher sales of its Legacy sedan. The company sold 16,100 vehicles during the month, up from 15,843 a year earlier. Legacy sedan sales rose 5 percent to 1,859 vehicles. Automotive News / September 05, 2005 For the first time in more than two years, the people at Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America could cheer instead of cringe as they reported their monthly sales numbers. August sales were 2.1 percent higher than in the year-ago month. Mitsubishi's last gain was in June 2003, when sales were 1.1 percent higher than in the year-earlier period. And the 2.1 percent upturn in August was the best since a surge of 10.3 percent in August 2002. In August, Mitsubishi dealers sold 8,160 cars and 2,785 trucks for a total of 10,945 new vehicles. Year-to-date sales of 87,074 are down 29.6 percent from last year.
