Seems like they always have these doesnt it? I open the pages of my new Motor Trend, and see immediately: V-8 SPORT SEDAN SHOOTOUT M45 meets 545i meets E500 meets CADDY STS. I knew the result without opening the damn magazine. STS in last place. So what comments did they have on it? If I'm allowed to scan the entire article in here, I'll do so glady so you guys can see it. The idea in a nutshell is "GM's premium division continues to improve, but so do the rest." Complaints were that the Cadillac had too much interior noise and that switching from touring to performance was a nuisance. The running order were as follows; 1st Place: BMW 545i 2nd Pl…

EIGHT SPEED AUTO REAR RECILNE SEATS ICE BOX MP3-HOLDS 4K SONGS AUTO PARKING SYS CADILLAC SHOULD JUST COPY THOSE FEATURES AND PUT IN THEIR NEW TRUE FLAGSHIP THE LS460 MAKES ME SAY FORGET THE NEW S-CLASS AND WHO CARES ABOUT THE 2009 BMW 7. THE DTS IS WONDERFUL BUT NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR THE S,7,A8. ALSO THE STS INTERIOR IS BORING. THE DTS INTERIOR IS SO CLASSY. COMPARED TO THE STS. CHROME TOUCHES EVERYWHERE. ITS SORT AUDI LEXUS LIKE.

Read this in a recent car mag, can't remember which. Basically, Mercedes is collecting and restoring some of their classic models at specialized shops. For the longest time, I've felt Cadillac should do this. My family has had 3 beautiful old Caddies over the years- a 64 Coupe DeVille, a 65 Sedan DeVille, and a 75 CDV. Ours were all in great shape (dad was a bodyman/mechanic, so that helped) as long as we owned them, but I've always seen similar old Caddies that are just sad to behold- belching smoke, rusting to pieces, missing pieces, etc. I always thought that, out of respect for the brand, Cadillac should buy out all those old cars, restore the ones th…

I posted this in here because Cadillac is one of the few GM brands with HUD, but if a moderator thinks it will fit somewhere else better feel free to move it :) Why are we seeing no new GM cars with available Head-Up Display? With the demise of the Park Avenue, LeSabre, and [imminent demise of] Rendezvous, Buick will no longer feature a car with the unique technology. When the Bonneville got axed, that left the Grand Prix being the soul vehicle in that lineup that offers HUD. GM obviously sees the benefit of the technology because its offered or standard on the Corvette and XLR. Are buyers going to have to fork out $50k+ for a vehicle to be offered head-up displ…

Cadillac was flying through 2005. The CTS was selling at record numbers even though the car is four model years old, the Escalade was keeping steady and the STS was beating the Seville sales by over 200%. Then October came and took a 7.9% year-over-year gain and turned it into a 4.9% gain. Ward’s Auto World talked to Cadillac’s General Manager Jim Taylor about Cadillac sales worldwide and optimism that Cadillac will gain 5% in 2005 and another 5% in 2006. Will the V-Series cars and 2007 Escalade have enough “umph” to add an extra 10,000 units next year? Ward's articleWard's article

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,172324,00.html One of the most famous examples of such an odd association in recent years is Cadillac’s use of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll,” which debuted during the Super Bowl in 2002 and has been used in over a dozen commercials for the car since. Lisa Pottger of New York, N.Y., said these ads in particular turn her off. "I get all nostalgic, then annoyed," she said. The association was, of course, a calculated move. Cadillac was able to change the perception of the "Caddy" from your grandparents’ embarrassingly large boat of a car to the modern, sophisticated power machine that the engine warrants. “…

I did see the 07 in shell form quite some time ago which led me down the path of skepticism. My point... I saw an 07 Escalade in pearl white yesterday and I have to say I am impressed! It is an imposing vehicle in person. It is by far the best looking of the bunch, as I have seen the Tahoe and the Yukon already. Then I saw another one on my way home and the person driving it was 'giving er all shes got!' it sounded mean! It had to of had the 6.2 in it. Which I will tout personally as a very …

I rented a 2006 DTS (not the base version) and drove it for three days, and enough distance to use most of a full tank of gasoline: 1) Even though I am 6' 1", I had to lean halfway or more out the door to grab the handle in the armrest to close it. 2) The front seating area is so wide that I had to place my arms out as if doing the chicken dance to rest my left arm on the armrest in the door and my right arm on the center armrest / console cover. 3) The switches for the trip computer are way off on the upper left side of the dash, where they are hard to reach and see. 4) The switches in the armrest are surrounded by cheap hard plastic - the Malibu and 2006 Ta…

STS and SRX are calling, they want thier eyes back AND Caddy: How bout a little more CTS and XLR [and Sixteen] and a LOT less STS! My Design Analysis The '07 Escalade without a doubt is beautiful. It is incredibly classy, elegant, and with an air of snobbery. But there's nothing shocking about it this time around. There's nothing that will make you stare at it for a while. Why are the headlights so round? Why are they shaped like an old Deville? Why don't they continue the lines that run through the fender? I think that might be my biggest problem with this design, and also the lack of much definition in the sides or rear. I saw like a million current Escal…

Is it feasible to create a sort of "electrochromatic" adjustable tint for all the windows of a car? I noticed the new Ferrari Superamerica has this feature for the roof panel and thought about how cool it would be to be able to dictate how dark or light the windows get. I'm guessing it would be an expensive item to create, but maybe we'll see this on the ULS. I've looked at the new S Class, which is being praised for it's rather boring innovations. Where are the real innovations though?

I am confident in upgraded interiors coming from GM for Cadillac and I lov all their exterior styling, that leavs Caddy with one big area to catch up with, again, and that is powertrains. Forbes Car review Cadillac SRX Vs. Volkswagen Touareg 10-04-2005 By Dan Lienert The Cadillac SRX sport utility vehicle exemplifies many issues facing Detroit. It is a typical Detroit car in that it is an SUV with declining sales, but it is also a rare American auto: a luxury car that can outsell European competition--excellent competition, at that--by some margin. In the first eight months of 2005, Volkswagen's Touareg SUV matched only 71% of the SRX's American sales. Considering that the SRX might be the best Cadillac, and that the Touareg might be the best Volkswagen, the Caddy's superior sales performance is evidence against the myth that Detroit ca…

The ’07 model also incorporates elements introduced on the landmark Sixteen concept vehicle. These elements include vertical headlamp housing with HID tri-segment lighting elements and new, stylish front fender vents. It WAS built to compete with the luxury intermediates (GS, M, 5-series, E-class, A6) I guess I was just emotionally taking up the CTS's cause as being the intermediate Caddy. But unfortunately an STS that's only five inches longer, yet cuts a bit of a similar presence to the M and the GS kinda steps on the CTS's toes in Cadillac's lineup. And them you have the BLS in Europe, further making the CTS look kinda weird. In basic, as far as the CTS goes, I'm left feeling like the name should basically be killed off in favor of a new rear-drive compact Caddy that can line up against the G, C-class, and dreaded 3-series. What also complicated matters for …

Yeah, you want to be me. j/k :P I stopped by Dimmitt Cadillac in Clearwater today to see if they had and literature on the '06 DTS. Better than taht, they had a black one out front. Cool. I just saw a Cadillac commercial for the employee discount, I think the first I've ever seen. Anyway, at the end they advertise a base SRX V6 for $32,000. That's as much as a CTS with the same engine, and far less than the X5 and RX330, which indicates how the market is recieving its premium price. The SRX really needs a significant interior overhaul.
