Yeah,s o I got a new cell phone yesterday, since my old piece of crap was dying. It's nothing overly fancy, a Virgin Mobile Cyclops, but it has a 1.3 megapixel camera, which for the price of $30 is unbeatable...most the the prepay phones have like .3 megapixels and cost closer to $100. As I was heading to work this morning I decided to try out the camera and take a photo of my car,a nd inadvertantly got the other 2 cars in the photo too,s o besides the Merc, which is in the driveway, it's a pic of the fleet, so what the hell, I felt like sharing. You can see one of the Shadow's new doors too. I still want to get a Cannon S5 IS though

For a long time now I've wanted to do an interior swap of my car's with that of a 300M's ever since I sat in one and felt just how supple and more comfortable the leather was in it verses the cloth or even leather seats of Intrepids. A couple weeks ago I obtained teh first piece of that goal...a 300M leather armrest. Next I'd like to acquire the backseat since they are harder to come by than the front seats. Plus they are cheaper.

So today we finally got the other door on. We also put the horn back on it and painted the rockers. Not professional, but still a big improvement and a cheap and quick way to make it look decent until the real work is done. And here's the old door. Had it inspected after we did the work. Somehow it passed emissions, but more importantly it passed safety without a problem. Good times.

Everyone as always feel free to enjoy them or save them as you would like! Tell me what you think sorry the set of the Bonneville was taken in Door County WI, it late August on my our get-away me and the wife for a long weekend and I know it was dirty! As for the others they were taken this afternoon after both cars were washed and detailed including the SLE's tips (what a pain) I had to dig for the sand-paper. I think they look nice! ENJOY...

Just wanted to drop a line in here... figured I'd peek in here to see how things go. Anyhow, my house is pretty much a GM house, with products from three decades and four divisions. My main car is my 2004 Pontiac GTO in silver, now almost completed with the process of a LHD Holden Monaro conversion (only missing some seat covers). Some pics: The exterior: Underhood - I tried my hand at airbrushing some Corvette fuel rail covers: List of mods: Engine: * K&N AirCharger short-ram intake & baffle * Hand ported/polished throttle-body w/ coolant bypass * NGK TR55IX Iridium Spark Plugs (gap to 0.055 inch) * Taylor "409" 10.4mm wi…

I've had this thing since I was like 3, dont know where it came from, my parents might remember, I haven't asked. But I've decided that I need to restore it. Shouldn't be too hard, the body is straight and most of the parts are there, it just has hellacious surface rust. For parts, all I'll need is a pedal (somehow its been through 3 houses and 2 storage units and only lost 1) the hubcaps, the seat cushion and a a new bell. The bell is there, but the dangly thing in the bell is M.I.A. I found most of the stuff online, my biggest concern at the moment is the graphics. They're painted on, and mostly there. I dont see any way around stripping the paint and starting ov…

Back in high school, before I even had my drier's license, I worked at Star Market (later bought out by Shaw's) in No. Reading, One day I helped an elderly couple get their groceries in the trunk of their Lincoln TownCar, they frequented the store once in a while and one day they asked me, wile I was again putting their groceries in the cavernous trunk of their (almost new 1993) Lincoln, if I would be interested in doing some landscaping for them. Well that was 1996 an over the next few years I spent many sat. & sun. mornings mowing their lawn, planting trees or laying down bark mulch and a million other things. Our families grew close and …

Well, after a breif 2 years with an 03 MDX, back to a 2 GM family. Very fortunate to be the owners of a 08 HHR SS, black on black, auto, purchased April 2008 brand new. Last night, picked up a 2007 Denali XL, preowned with 26k miles. Black on black. Months of searching and moreso, waiting for prices to drop a little bit. Will purchase the extended warranty on the Denali within the next year. That will be it for a number of years for me..probably spent too much on vehicles, but got exactly what I wanted in the end. Pics soon.

Hey C&Gers, I signed (most of) the papers on the Bonneville I'd been looking at since February (!). I take delivery of it tomorrow sometime (though, unfortunately, not in time for me to drive it to DC for class ). Got the 2-year warranty mainly 'cause we can't afford to replace a tranny anytime soon... that was about all that was extra that I paid for. Pics coming later this week... probably Thursday.

I was going through an old Photo Album when I found these pictures... the first is circa February 1997 the day my Cavalier was picked up from Jack Carter Chev Olds Cadillac as a new car... Hard to believe that thing was ever "new". The last two are circa Summer 1997 and are of the Dustbuster minivan we had from 1994-1999 (My brother and I are of course in this one as well).

Remember that '62 Buick Special I mentioned? Yup, she's now my daily driver. The Mercedes sold last Thursday, Saturday morning I picked this little Buick sedan. It has the 198 cu. in. iron-block V6. This GM "intermediate" is almost as much fun as my '68 Camaro was. The true-dual exhausts, oversized carburator & recent rebuild make it quicker than I expected, this thing is quite the little rat-rod. It only cost me half of what I sold the Mercedes for. Not bad at all for a rock-solid, rust free 46 year old GM classic. So now all THREE of our cars are GM again as well as all tri-shields. - 1959 Buick LeSabre 2dr sedan - 1962 Buick Special 4dr sedan…

So as you may recall, a few months ago some jackass in a stolen Integra sideswiped both the Intrepid and the Prizm. The Prizm is more scratched than dented, and plus I haven't found any matching doors for it yet, so it hasn't had any work done, we may just leave them on, since the car will be repainted eventually. The Intrepid meanwhile took a nasty hit in the rear driver's side door. It's cost prohibitive to have it the dents removed and have it repainted, but I have left it on there until i could find a matching door for it. We found one at the $50 day at Holland's Used Auto, but unfortunately it was pretty badly scraped up and dented, so I never bothered. I'm cheap,…

Mom just picked up her Enclave and it was parked next to my wagon here at work. I could not resist snapping a photo of them side by side. It is amazing how far cars have come in a relatively short amount of time. The sfaety, economy, comfort, convenience...it is all LIGHT YEARS ahead of what was on the roads 51 years ago! I cannot imagine what cars will be like in another 50 years! What further amazed me is the length of the two cars - it is almost a dead heat between the two of them!

These are pictures I took of my Impala back when the weather was actually bearable outside. I have the original 396 in my shed, but the engine in the car now is a 454 out of a 70 Chevelle (I think). It runs pretty good, but the rear main seal is shot and the transmission doesn't shift correctly (might be a faulty solenoid or something, not sure). The heads on the 454 are actually off the old 396. I think if I keep her and do a proper restoration, I'll rebuild the 396 and sell the 454 to someone who wants to build a hot rod or something.

So after some looking around my brother has decided that he wants the Shadow instead of buying a car. While I'm sure some of you are laughing your asses off, or wondering why we'd bother with some 80's FWD, Unibody, pillared, $h!box...f@#k off. Kidding. Seriously though, the car's been good to us for most of it's time with us. Plus, unlike a "new" car, which can be a good car (like mine) or a never ending sea of misery and problems (BV's Beast), we know everything that's good and bad with it. I've wanted a car to play with for some time now, something I don't have to worry about rushing because someone needs to drive it. I can take my time and do it rig…

Some of you may know (or remember) that, a couple of months ago, I had a decision to make. That decision has finally been made...for about a week or so. Story refresh: Back in 2001 (when Gram was still alive), I discovered that one of her best friends from high school, Ruby, had a '79 MC. Long story short ... Gram told me to tell Ruby about my collection and that I'd be interested in her '79 if she ever decided to sell it. I did. When the time came for her to sell it about 4 years ago, I didn't have the money ... and her grandson and great grandson "wanted" it, to keep it in the family.... Ruby didn't want her great grandson to have it; she wanted ME to have it.…

Well as some of you had noticed I was absent from regular posting sometime. I promise I am making up for it with some amazing Torrent photos from my vacation. Many were taken in the Tetons, others on the Beartooth HWY, and a few in South Dakota in Custer State Park. Another few odd balls were thrown in that I liked. Enjoy them and if I do say so myself they are some of my best, car photographs ever. 56K be warned there are over 40 of them and I only picked about 1/2 of what I took. Please enjoy leave comments and tell me if they are as good as I say or otherwise. Enjoy and feel free to use as wallpapers etc.

Picked her up this morning for $600 off two dorky yuppie brothers in Bow, NH. Runs, drives, shifts, and stops. Incredibly solid (have the original Florida title from 1970) except for a little bubbling at the bottoms of the front fenders. Needs cosmetic love, but is mechanically awesome. Goes down the road straight, smooth, and quiet as a Cadillac should. Has a 2 year-old rebuilt transmission with a 50,000 mile warranty that is transferrable to me. It's gonna be me and the girl's backup car/summer beater. I'm glad to have picked it up; I've been having withdrawals since I traded Sixty8 the Banana for my Suburban, but now I once again have a driver!

Gas is $4.00+ a gallon. People are in a panic to get rid of their trucks and SUVs, desperate to get into a smaller more fuel efficient vehicle, even at the cost of their credit. Scienetists say we are doomed, and the Earth will literally boil and explode in the next year if we don't all start walking, riding bikes, and stop driving the things we love and farting. However, we're bucking the trend. That's right, and the RWD/BOF/V8 fanatics should be proud. Last week we bought a 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis. After a week or so of dealing with the hassle of MA's retarded registration polices we picked up the car on Wednesday. The man we bough it from is quite a character, pre…

Well I feel like a big loser for still not posting my 1959 Buick LeSabre two-door post sedan, or the "Banana Boat" 1977 Cadillac Coupe deVille in this sub-forum. Both of these old GMs are, in different ways, project cars of mine. The Buick was used as a daily driver for 7000 miles last summer, and is now receiving some over-due TLC. The 49 year old 364 cubic inch V8 is half appart. The Banana on the other hand is my current daily driver, a 4500lbs. "coupe" powered by a seven liter pushrod Cadillac block. 13 mpg is about all I'm getting since I drive it like I stole it. Not very condusive to $4.15/ gallon gasoline prices, esp. since I driv…

Not to be outdone by BV's Jetta... It gives me great pride to present my 1995 Oldsmobile Achieva (after a loooong ass search)! Bought yesterday for an as-is price of $850 CAD. Its a 3.1 V6, has power everything, including keyless entry. It has 170,570 Kilometers (105,992 miles). I am her 3rd owner. The first owners were an elderly couple, and had the car untill 2006. The person who sold it to me used it for short trips to work. Since Oct '07, he only drove about 7000 K (4349 miles). It is in pretty good shape, and appears to have been undersprayed (by the first owners). It has some common Achieva problems. The drivers side power window doesn't work, or works in…

...A VW. It's a 1998 Jetta GT. It has a 2.0l 4cyl, automatic, moonroof, alarm, air conditioning, and only 68k miles. It's not perfect, there are some flaws, but it's mechanically sound. I was cautious about buying a VW, but I didn't buy it blind. I looked into its reliability ratings and common issues, got a carfax report and had it checked out by a mechanic before I bought it. It runs very well and is rather peppy for only having 116 hp. Rides nicely, too. It has alot of quicks I'm not used to, though. Ratillac for now, anyways, but hopefully not forever. For whatever reason my girlfriend and parents really love this car (you should have seen some of the looks most of my past beaters have gotten!) and that alone is enough for me to make it nice as time goes on. Maybe I can convince one of them can "babysit" it for me if I find myself in need of space for a new toy a few years down the road :AH-HA_wink: So as you all probably know by now, I picked up a 1970 Cadillac Sedan DeVille a few weeks ago for the princely sum of $600 off of two fruity yuppie brothers in southern New Hampshire: The dorks at the front and rear of the car are them. The dork in the middle wear…

So after over a year of owning her I've finally done something to make her more unique. While I do like white-face gauges and the sporting image they give off, I've long wanted some sort of metallic rings to surround them. Not only does it add some modern bright work to the cabin, but it ads a touch of class. Well, I wasn't able to get rings for the gauges but I did manage to get the next best thing. On the recent $50 Day I managed to pick up a gauge cluster out of a Chrysler Concorde, and despite the rain I managed to keep it safe and dry. Yesterday, with some modifications, I was able to swap them out. Although these gauges are black, I do like the how they look, and…

Gave the Cutlass it's first bath since October and figured some pictures were in order. The paint color looks fabulous when wet. And now, the aforementioned Brookvillian roamings. The photography isn't the best. I meant to take these in more daylight but washing it turned out to be an all day job. It was a dirty little Beast. Also, I really need to upgrade to a better camera. The annoying auto-focus and inability to take a non-blurry picture in low light is beginning to get on my nerves. Also, yes, next time I take pictures of the Cutlass with the lights on, I should probably make sure they all light up first.

So as you guys may recall the T&C came to use in a bit of a mass. The bumper had caved in, which included the cover and the the actual bumper, it also bent some of the front end so the headlight housing/grill don't all fit quite right anymore. At the time it looked pretty bad, and it was further compounded by lack of avaialble parts. Eventually after hunting through 6 junlkyards I found a downer, a blue Caravan. Black 2008 G6 GT Street Edition I know everyone here hates it, but I really liked it and my wife (it's her car) loves it. I did not know that you could add it to the GT models, but apparently you can. It has every option including the 18 inch rims and Stabili-track. I've been holding off on showing it, but what the hell, we're using it now so here we go. It's a 1990 Chrysler Town and Country. This was a gift to my mom for Christmas from a family friend's father. My mom's friend's husband's father to be exact. Not confusing at all! Anyway, he's an older gentleman, in his 70's or so. The story goes that he was driving down the middle of the road an apparently hit something, or multiple things...I have no idea what. A not so great pic of my Avi, a Christmas present from the hubby, and his red short wide. The bike was new, but it's been traded for an '07 GSXR 600. I'll get a better pic of my baby when the weather clears up.

So I bought my fourth Buick last night. I waited years to own a Buick after owning dozens of GM cars. My theory was that I was going for broke, my first Buick was going to be a '59 or nothing. Just two months after I brought my '59 LeSabre I had THREE Buicks in my driveway... the second being a '76 LeSabre four door hardtop powered by a 455 (later sold to FlyBrian) and an LT1 powered '94 Roadmaster Estate, now also long sold. While I loved my LT1 powered Estate I always wanted a steel roof sedan, esp. in a dark color, green, burgundy, black or gun-metal gray... Well last night I bougt (for $hort money even by my standards) a steel roof sed…

Over here I mentioned some big news not related to my vacation, well here it is: I'm now the proud owner of: *drum roll* A 1968 Corvette convertible. My father won it on eBay on my behalf while I was away. It's a project car in boxes, as the owner started the restoration but didn't finish it. All the hard work is done. It just needs new paint, an engine and tranny, and to be put back together. Here's the stats: 1968 Corvette convertible hardtop and softop L68 427 - 400hp M21 4 speed manual originally silver over silver, but changed to dark red over black I plan to put the car back to the original color combo, since I want to find a correct 427 and M21 to put in i…

I just bought this 1990 Buick Reatta for $700 and I was planning to use it for parts. However it only took a new battery to get it working great so I decided I will drive it and restore it. The body is pretty good on the car but the interior is a mess. However, I have a whole new interior waiting for it. It is a fully loaded coupe with 16-way seats and the moonroof but the only option it doesn't have it the CD player.

These photos are of my Oldsmobile Toronado and my friend's Oldsmobile Aurora in the U of H parking lot. She bought this car over a year ago. I talked her into buying the car. She had has a good experience so far. She has driven it across the country several times too.

...in an Oldsmobile! Allow me to introduce you to my first car, a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS. It's basically a loaded car, with, as you can see, leather, Bose Sound, sunroof, auto climate control, and the Autobahn package as major options. It set me back $3718, though the Blue Book suggested value for it was around $5000. For the most part, it's mechanically sound, impressive at 112,416 miles, and the general concensus among my friends is that it's a sexy beast. It has a bad front hub assembly, which will need replacing soon. The leather on the driver seat is torn in one spot, and there's another tear towards the middle of the rear bench. The plastic…

As most of you know my wife bought a Camaro, sight unseen on Ebay. This might be most guys dream, but my wife didn't see if it could seat 4. See, this Camaro has a 4-point roll cage bar, instead of 4 seats. To make a long story short, it's now up for sale. I got some decent pictures of it after having it detailed and some minor issues taken care of (center console replaced). You can check out the pictures at Camaro ad. The other cars are also for sale because she doesn't need 3 cars, and I want a new one. HHR in Craigslist / HHR in Autotrader Park Avenue in Craigslist / Park Avenue in Autotrader

I picked up some stock brushed aluminum Pontiac wheels this summer with the intentions of putting some winter tires on them. I put it off all summer, but when we saw some snow last week I decided it was time to go home from school for the weekend and get this done. The wheels were really dirty and had a lot of the clear coat peeling off. First I cleaned them all with some water and steal wool. Then I sanded off the rest of the clear coat and put tape around the tires. The paint that I chose is called gunmetal, and is a silver/black with a little bit of sparkle to it. So after some primer and a few layers of the paint, thats where I am right now. I am going to wai…

This past weekend my wife found a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice with the 9C1 pkg for sale. It has 133k miles and in fairly decent condition. At only $2,000 we couldn't pass it up. The new one is equipped just like the old but has tinted windows and working AC to make our daughters willing to drive in it. Oh yeah, and it's missing the cage and bars on the windows. Any ideas on what I can do to this one? For those that don't know; we've done the following to the previous ones; 1. Put 1 gallon of water for 10 gallons of fuel (Roach I only) 2. Jumped both of them multiple times 3. Leveled gravel (Roach I) 4. Jumped on the hood, roof & trunk (frequently) 5. P…

So I get a call from my wife yesterday. She says, "You shouldn't leave me home alone unsupervised". With that my mind wonders thinking maybe she caught the house on fire, broke something, etc. I then ask her why, She says that while looking at the vehicles for sale from the State of Oregon she saw a 2000 Camaro Z28 with an LS1 for sale that used to be a police vehicle. It only had 15 minutes left until the end of the auction and she couldn't get ahold of me so . . . as you could have guessed she bought it. At $3750, it was a steal. It didn't make me mad, it made me want her to full fill her duties as a wife. :AH-HA_wink: You can check it out the car at; 2000 C…

I have news.. I have a huge confession to make. As you recall, I had bought the wrong Toronado twice!! Recall I wanted the one on Ebay as it was what I always wanted and the color and interior was correct? Well... This is how it started. The very next day after I sent that weekly email a friend stepped up to the plate. I was busy in my office. He came on the messenger. He asked me had any of my friends offered to help me get that Toronado? I said no. Jo said she told me she was concerned about me. He said do you want the car? I said yes, I do but I do not have all the funds. I have some, not all. He said It is your dream. We are going to to get you that car. I said what…

I still have the Lesabre T-Type and my parents still have their Expediton and Tahoe. So this car is my personal car #2. I am still sticking with GM and it is still a Buick. I don't have it just yet but I am taking delivery of it this Saturday. What is it? I am buying a 1988 Buick ______. It was a deal I couldn't turn down and I love the car even though it is front wheel drive still. It has higher mileage, 156k miles but is still running strong. It has one rust spot which is quite huge but an easy fix. The car's interior is mint except for the center console in which the leather needs to be reupholstered. The headliner on the sunroof panel needs to be done as well but thos…

Well, my Bonneville was getting oh so dirty. The cloth seats had crumbs in them (a first for this car) the carpet was dirty and had grass shaving, the car had 5 weeks of dirt on it, the tires weren't shiney, and the exhuast tips had 24 weeks of black dirt build up on them. It was time to clean her, sadly the SLE didn't get waxed only washed and detailed. On Saturday afternoon I washed the car for my son as he went to his last homecoming of his high school career with a cute friend of his. And me being ths softy I am washed it for him and then let him drive it! What was I thinking? Anyways I am sure he got the cobs out of it, prolly not a bad thing, but not that I don'…

A couple weeks ago, there was a little accident on the farm. One of the guys we have working for harvest sideswiped my dads 04 Silverado with a piece of equipment. Destroyed the whole driver side of the pickup. The insurance company totalled it. Hopefully tomorrow my dad will be picking up a 2008 Silverado LT1. Optioned for the 5.3, the 3.73, and trailering package. Nothing too special, but will be much nicer than his 04 Silv. LS. If he gets it tomorrow I will try to snap a few pics.

Well, here are some pics of my latest mods... Basically, I put on black projectors a few weeks ago, painted the SS badges on the side, did a $h!ty job painting the front bowtie, cut the stock antenna down, and today I got a dual outlet exhaust installed. Projectors and painted badges: Exhaust cut-out (not perfect, but I still like it): How she looked stock: How she looks today: And a quick video of how she sounds... idle and rev: Video doesn't really do it justice, as expected. It's quieter and a throatier than perceived through my camera. It's not very loud at idle and still not extremely loud at all at WOT, but I ac…

So our 1986 Fleetwood Brougham was sold on Thursday night at 8:00pm. A guy who lives about 1.5 miles away took for a testdrive, gave me a few $100s & $20s and shook my hand as I gave him the keys. Shortly after my wife Julie & myself were in the back of the Banana Boat (the famous Tight Whips yellow '77 Coupe deVille) on our way to South Boston. XP and his g/f gave us a ride down so we could pick up Julie's new hoopty. The car in question was on craigslist for several weeks, no photos in typical fashion. It was located close to University of Massachusetts, right by the famous JFK Library, in So. Boston off Rt. 93. 1982 Mercedes Benz 240 D, four door s…

So tonight after work I roped Sixty8 and his lovely new bride into taking a ride down to Warwick, Rhode Island (170-mile round trip) to pick up the latest addition to the fleet: a 1978 Cadillac Coupe DeVille with 94,000 miles and change on it. It's very clean for its age, everything works (except for the AC compressor, which is seized, which means I need a shorter belt if I want power steering!), colors are brown with a brown top and brown interior, and has very stylish late 80's Chevrolet truck wheels on it. Purchased for the paltry sum of $420, I plan to swap out the better parts (most notably the headliner board and the center section of the front bumper) with lesser q…

Went to see my friend Donald today and check out his new CTS. Along the way I had some target practice. "Bandit in sight, 12 o'clock. Closing." "Target acquired. Weapons hot." "Fox 3! Splash one Prius." So, here's his car and mine. You know my boat; his is a 2007 Cadillac CTS 2.8 automatic. Lovely little car and while not the most optioned-out Caddy, its a definite step up from his '02 SL2. He has a 3yr/39,000 miles lease for around $299/mo.

My new car. I have been looking awhile for something in excellent shape that was already done. SO I can just drive and enjoy. Intailly I wanted a Trans Am (NOT GTA) with the silver GFX but not too mnay 350s in that combo were made. So I expanded my search to include Formulas. And although it has T-tops--that was not my ideal option but since the rest of the car is so perfect I decided that I can overlook them. Drove it from Chicago to Calgary, Alberta. 89 Formula 350--most of the usual options. Finally took the time to take some decent pictures... This is my project car, a 1999 Saturn SC2. I purchased it back in Indiana for $1,000 with a bad automatic transmission that wouldn't shift into reverse. Fortunately, it was able to drive itself home, though by the time I turned into my neighborhood, it would no longer upshift. First gear got it into the garage, where I tinkered on it here & there for the winter. I purchased a number of goodies for it, but the only thing currently done to it is a manual transmission swap with short shifter, and aftermarket wheels. The manual tranny swap probably ran about $500 once all was said & done. I dismantled th…

Well I picked up a set of ROH Drift-R wheels. They're made in Australia and ROH actually manufacturers wheels for Holden, so these fit very well on GTOs. I also got some all-season Pirelli PZero Nero M+S tires, which are spectacular and totally transform the handling of the car vs. the stock BFG KDWS. They grip the road very well, and are hard to break lose (I have not broken them lose yet, but I have not gone at WOT yet. Still, the stock BFGs would have broken lose at some instances since I've had the Pirellis on). Anyways, here are the pics:

Well, many of you know the vehicles my family owns: 2007 Buick Rendezvous 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS/SC 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix 1990 Chevy Cavalier Coupe Well, we mainly have the Cavalier for insurance and "oh $h!" purposes. However, in order to get it running smoothly in an "oh $h!" instance, we'd have to spend a few hundred on a new door or two, battery, and radiator at the very least. So, seeing that we haven't started it in a few months, and haven't run it in over a year, we're finally getting rid of it. It will be a donation, and a sad one to see go since I've grown up with that car. Also, the Grand Prix will have seen its days with …

I was shocked at how well the 3.5 pulls the car around, and the interior is a very nice black leather. Tomarrow I have to go pick it up and get it registered, I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!
