Yesterday morning, Dodge released a few more teasers of the 2013 Dodge Dart that's set to debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show next month. The teasers didn't reveal much other than what the Dart's center IP and gauge cluster would look like. Well, if Dodge's constant teasing is starting to bother you, there's some good news: you don't have to wait until next month to see the rest of the interior at least. Someone at Dodge saw fit to put up a rather revealing photo of the Dart's interior on their Facebook page late yesterday evening. What we can tell from the photograph is that the ambient lighting that surrounds the gauges and center IP looks interesting and a lot of the…

Chrysler has announced the next Viper will be returning home when production begins late next year. The Viper's home is the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit where it was built from 1995 to 2010. Since production of Viper ended, Conner Avenue has sat idle. Chrysler says the reopening of Conner Avenue Assembly will bring back 150 jobs. Former employees will have first dibs on the positions before other hourly employees can apply for them. But there also a big change with the new Viper. Since 1992, the Viper was always known as a Dodge. However in the press release, the Dodge name is only used once. When asked about this, SRT spokesman Dan Reid said the Viper will …

Chrysler has been teasing the next Viper for the past year with shots here and there. The rumors have been swirling around for the same time, ranging from a 8.7L V10 to the Viper being based on a sports car from the Fiat Family (Maserati GranTurismo). All of these questions will be answered next April. Chrysler's SRT Brand President and CEO Ralph Gilles told Viper magazine the next Viper will be shown at the 2012 New York Auto Show in April. The Dodge Viper is undergoing it’s final stretch of development time before being launched sometime in 2012. During the past year, Dodge has been releasing little bits of information about the next Viper. Now, a little more information has come out about the next Viper. Automotive News spoke with Dodge boss Reid Bigland at the Los Angeles auto show this week. Bigland said the redesigned Viper "will appeal to a broader segment of the market." "It was a little crude in the past, and to a certain extent that was its appeal because you really needed to have your wits about you when you got behind the wheel to keep that thing on the road. And that thrill of driving a …

Rumorpile: 8.7L V10 For The Next Viper? William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com October 27, 2011 We're still a couple years away from SRT releasing the Viper out into the wild, but that isn't stopping rumors from flying around. We know that there is a new Viper on the way and has been testing for the past year. Now, Allpar is reporting the new Viper will use a 8.7L V10 engine, making it the largest displacement engine ever used in a Chrysler production car. Horsepower and torque ratings hasn't been said, but it would be safe to assume it would be above the 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque of the previous Viper. Allpar …

Dodge To Say Goodbye To Grand Caravan & Avenger, Replace With One Model William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com October 10, 2011 Dodge will be getting one crossover to replace the Grand Caravan and Avenger. Fiat & Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne tells Automotive News the model is part of a plan to reduce the number of duplicated vehicles in showrooms and give their brands a strong identity. "We cannot have the same type of vehicle in the showroom because the consumer is not stupid. We're not going to create the confusion and conflict in the showroom," Marchionne said. The crossover will use the Town & Country's platform and come …

Rumorpile: Dodge Getting A Durango SRT8? William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com September 21, 2011 With the introduction of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Chrysler's SRT Group is wondering if they should share the love with the Jeep's platform mate, the Dodge Durango. Chrysler isn't saying anything but a source tells Inside Line a Durango SRT8 is being seriously considered. It will have the 470 HP 6.4-liter Hemi V8, adjustable suspension, all-wheel-drive system, and huge Brembo brakes. And that's where the idea of the Durango SRT8 begins to hit the skids. All the hardware in the Grand Cherokee SRT8 has boosted the pricetag to $54,470 and ha…

That new Dodge Hornet isn't bad looking in the murky, telephoto world of spyshots, even as it has no eyes. Hopefully dynamic driving fun, economy, reliability and coolness are part of the buzz surrounding this new small Dodge. OH... and a 2-door hatch or coupe as well.

Replacement For Dodge Caliber To Debut At Detroit Auto Show William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com June 16, 2011 If there is one vehicle that Chrysler would like people to forget that doesn't start with the letter S would be the Dodge Caliber. The replacement for Neon was unloved by the public due to its poor quality and cheap materials. Back in 2009, Chrysler held a 10-Hour press conference talking about what will happen within the next few years. One of the slides showed Dodge's lineup for the next few years and in that slide was a note about a new compact car due out in 2012. According to Wards Auto this week, the new compact Dodge has …

Dodge Teases The Next Generation Viper William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com April 15, 2011 Dodge is busy at work on the next generation Viper due out in 2012. This will be the first Viper that includes stability control as mandated by US government. Dodge has released a teaser pic of a last generation Viper sliding along some snow which puts a grin on our faces. Not much is known about the next generation viper. It's rumored to have between 600 to 700 HP coming from a V10 or a forced induction V8. Either way, the Viper will be coming out in 2012 as a 2013 model and ready for the “Super Car Olympics” Press Release is Below Next-Gen Dodge V…

The Magnum Making A Comeback? William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com July 17, 2011 If someone was to write out a list of the coolest wagons ever built, the 2005-2008 Dodge Magnum would be somewhere on that list. RWD, a range of V6s and V8s, and just practical, found it a good amount of fans. However, poor sales and Chrysler's money woes meant the Magnum would be shown the door a few years later. “That vehicle was single-handedly killed by one executive who is no longer with the company. He’s retired. A lot of people in the company still like that vehicle — a lot. A lot of things that weren’t possible back then, now are.” said Ralph Gilles, t…

Instead of taking the kid to play today we went to the Kia Dodge Chevy dealer to sit in some cars. Weird combo of brands, but it made it convenient for one stop. Anyhow, what was nice was they had a new 011 Caravan, Journey, and Durango in the showroom. So I got to sit inside and look around a little. Kid was acting up so I didn't get to poke and prod too much. But still it was easy to see that there were some nice improvements. The Durango was the first one. I still think its sorta bland inside and out but the quality of the interior is pretty good. I would say the plastics are very good, maybe a little tiny bit above average for the class. Better plastics than …

With all of the Chrysler models receiving updates both significant and otherwise, it's understandable if you've gotten a little lost in the fray. Here's what you need to know: One of the most surprising bright lights to come out of the company's refresh bender is the 2011 Dodge Journey. While the 2011 Dodge Charger and Durango may have stolen the spotlight with their new sheetmetal, the Journey has transmogrified into a small family hauler that offers plenty of horsepower, acceptable fuel economy and a massively updated interior. There's even one of the quickest and largest touchscreens of any vehicle we've come across nestled in the dash. Given Chrysler's recently disco…

2011 Dodge Avenger Drew Dowdell - Chief Editor CheersandGears.com Dodge released pictures of the 2011 Dodge Avenger to virtually no fanfare today, and really, why should they? Dodge says that the Avenger has been completely overhauled for 2011 but the car itself will look familiar. Familiar is a bit of an understatement since we think that the only people who would notice any changes from the exterior are current owners.... and even then it would be more along the lines of "something about you change, but I can't put my finger on what". The biggest changes happen inside and under the hood the new Pentastar V6 takes up residence producing 283 horsepower (good for …

Just A Peek: Dodge Officially Teases 2011 Charger Interior Sunday, October 10th 2010 by "black-knight" We've more or less seen the new Charger's interior already through countless spy photos over the recent months, but those Dodge boys, who just love to tease us all, decided to throw us a bone anyway on the official 2011 Charger website. From the teaser shot, we know for sure the Charger will have the same steering wheel as the recently revealed interior of the 2011 Durango and Dodge is promising better materials and excellent fit 'n finish for everyone's favorite rebel American sedan (not that that's a extremely difficult thing to do in the first place). Chee…

Spy Photos: 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan - Edmunds Inside Line By Mike Magrath | October 8, 2010 These are the first spy photos of the newly redesigned 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. This new Dodge minivan is showing a dramatically redesigned face showing the new Dodge crosshair grill and a -- dare we say it -- sporty lower fascia. The headlights are also redesigned, or should we say, designed as the last ones were lifeless rectangles. And out back there's more.... Yep, those are LED tail lights on a Chrysler Mini van. They also stick out from the body now, much like the last gen Durango with two 3d tunnels that house the LED rings. A DODGE logo now replaces…
