Wow is all I have to say. I know it's new, but I've noticed typos, I don't care for the layout, and there's a reduction in the number of pictures they show for each model. And only 3 of the colors available on the LaCrosse (black, light silver and brown) are the only colors you DON'T have to pay extra for. And the price of the base LaCrosse went up by over a thousand. The price of the base Lucerne went up about 2500. You now pay over $30,000 if you want a base Lucerne that still doesn't have a telescoping steering wheel and comes with a manual a/c, while the base LaCrosse has tilt/telescopic and auto a/c. One of the pictures is of the gear selector, and the capti…

With Congress still yet to decide the fate of GM's return to profitability plan, Buick's role has potentially transformed from a 'niche' brand in the USA back into a core brand… a core brand that could potentially offer a full line of cars with the possibility of a crossover or two when all is said and done. So, what should Buick's line-up look like when all the pieces fall into place? Several suggestions have been tossed around in other related topics, but let's try to consolidate our future visions of Buick's line-up here. A wishlist line-up if you will... I'll start: (Yes, I'm borrowing from some suggestions already given because I agree with them ) CUVs …

History of Buick Design media.medialink.com link to video From the early days of William Durant and Walter Marr to current overseas success, Buick has been at the forefront of automotive design. With groundbreaking features, the line was one of the driving forces behind the creation of General Motors. Now, a hundred years later, Buick is set to make an impact with the premiere of the 2010 Buick LaCrosse. Revisiting the past to debut the future, GM's current head of design, Ed Welburn, gives us a tour of Buick's history – discussing the first ever concept car and some of the key design elements over the last century. In the first of a two part web series, Welburn…

I still think this would make a nice addition to the Buick lineup as a "4-door coupe" type of vehicle that could draw younger customers into Buick showrooms. The engine choices would need to be altered for the U.S. market though. The turbo 4 would need to be the base engine with the 3.0 DI V6 serving as the optional engine. These engine offerings would keep the Regal positioned below the upcoming LWB Eps II LaCrosse, which I believe will have the 3.0 DI V6 as standard equipment and the 3.6 DI V6 as an optional engine. The link below provides more extensive pictures of the "Buickized" Opel Insignia that I have not seen before: Visit My Website Source: World Car Fans…

Details on new Buick LaCrosse emerge New DI 3.0L V6 added Posted Oct 30th 2008 10:58AM Link to AutoBlog Judging from spy pics we've seen of the upcoming 2010 Buick LaCrosse, General Motors may have a winner on its hands, even if it is getting delayed. If specs from GM Inside News are accurate, Buick's new midsize sedan will have significant new powertrains, too. The big news comes from an all-new 3.0L, direct-inject V6 engine based on the larger 3.6L VVT powerplant that the General uses now. The small-displacement V6 packs some serious punch at 250 hp, and will be mated to the automaker's new 6T70 six-speed transmission for improved efficiency. The new 3.0L engine i…

A sales consultant at a GM dealer in Canada has posted to another website that Bob Lutz appeared at Canada's annual dealer conference today and brought along some future Buicks ( ! ). One was the LaCrosse/Allure. The second was a Buick Regal, based off, as you may have read reports, the Opel Insignia. (There were some spy shots taken in China and shown elsewhere on that website.) The third was the Riviera Concept and, according to this sales consultant, the Riviera is "a go!" He suspects that it will be built in Oshawa. If this information is accurate, it's wonderful news for present and future Buick owners!

Just saw some 09 Lucernes freshly delivered. Shockingly they were rated at one better city and highway than last years 3800 V6 at 17/26 vs 16/25. And these are non AFM 3900's from what I can tell. They must have coaxed a tad more mileage out of the regular detuned 227 HP version of this engine compared to the G6 convertible with it's 15/22 rating. The Lucernes 2.93:1 gears probably help too!

You probably read that GM's car plant in Oshawa will add two more cars besides the Camaro. The report I saw stated that Oshawa ". . . will also get some Chevrolet Impala production and an unnamed Buick model at some point in the future." Someone said the other day that the Ep II Buick couldn't be called "LaCrosse," because Oshawa had exclusive rights to that name. So now -- assuming they're talking about the EpII Buick / Invicta Concept -- does this mean it will be called LaCrosse? Or is there a chance that they mean another, future Buick - a possible replacement for the Lucerne? thegriffon or PCS, can you just tell us what the name of the EpII Buick will be? Us …

CARS.com is always updated (and accurately) ahead of the BUICK website. Just as BUICK rolled out the LaX Super and axed the CXS model, looks like the same thing is happening with the Lucerne CXS. You can now build a Lucerne Super on CARS, but the CXS has disappeared. It also looks like they rebundled some of the option packages as well on Lucerne.

According to Vince Burlapp's Car Page, the new Chinese Buick LaCrosse will basically be a rebadged Opel Insignia. So to read his information and see his picture, please go to burlappcars.com and look for the Wed., 6/25/08 story titled "Chinese Buick La Crosse." Burlapp states that the photo is what China gets but not what the U.S. will get. I thought with globalization that the Chinese and NA Buick product would be exactly the same. The website carscoop.blogspot.com recently featured a video of the designers of the Buick Invicta concept car talking about the project. At :07-:08 into the video, there is a scene with two women standing near some art boards. What is the vehicle on the board to the very right? It almost looks like a two-door (?) Buick "Volt," with a high, blocky back. To see the video (and, hopefully, to give your opinion as to what that vehicle on the board is), click here.

A Motortrend blog article called the 2009 Toyota Venza that just debuted at the NAIAS... a Buick. http://blogs.motortrend.com/6226463/new-ca...uick/index.html I think that's stretching it. The Toyota Venza only wishes it was anything nearly as good looking as the Enclave. Yet the article makes the awkward Venza seem luxurious enough to even compare to the Enclave. In looks this thing is tanked and I don't see the Buick similarities (outside of the color) at all. *edit* maybe I can see it closer to the Signia Concept

I had such a blast with this chop that I had to see what others thought about expanding the Buick line-up to include such a vehicle. It was posted first over in the "smaller car under LaCrosse" topic, and I didn't want to clutter the compact discussion with crossover fantasy. Talk about the design you would envision. Let your thoughts be known on what platform, what content, etc. that such a vehicle should have. Would it attract the younger buyers, as well as the older segment? These are the only three current Buick models. This reminds me of the fading days of Oldsmobile. Do we have confirmation that Buick is not going away? or is this a ship that GM is quietly filling with lead, like Olds? I think the name has some resonance with the older crowd still, and I wonder - why are there no plans for an Epsilon Buick? The size would be perfect for an entry-level Buick, IMO, and the quality of Epsilon is obviously now quite good. Thoughts?

To help GM meet new U.S. fuel-economy standards, Buick, Pontiac, and GMC may each add a new smaller vehicle. According to Jan. 15, 2008 news reports, "Potential additions include a sedan shorter than the Buick LaCrosse, a crossover sport-utility vehicle more compact than the GMC Acadia and a Pontiac small car," said Jim Bunnell, general manager for the division that includes the three brands. The U.S. regulations "have thrown everything on its head," Bunnell said. "We most likely will need smaller market entries to get in line." For Buick, could this be the NG Chinese Excelle, due later this year? Have there been rumors that it will be re-named "Skylark"?

This is a most excellent and very positive review of the LaCrosse Super I came across on Autoblog's site. I don't have the skills to post the article up...lol, so maybe someone else can do it. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/26/in-the-...lacrosse-super/

Was wondering if anyone ever commented on what this car was, is it a real concept or a chop? I ran across this image in my files, and with all the talk about a smaller Buick lately, just wondered if it had significance.

Went up to the new LaCrosse/Allure at a dealership and am having trouble digesting the new 2008 grille, and I was really looking forward to a freshening. Looking at nearby Lucernes, I thought the grille would be much nicer and subtler if "blacked out" as it is on the larger vehicle. At the very least, they should offer both versions. I voted for that option in the poll. Your thoughts and comments...

Another positive review for the Buick Enclave, this time from the Chicago Sun-Times, titled "Buick brings back the love." The reviewer makes the statement that Buick and Cadillac are the only GM divisions offering exciting styling. "The rest of GM models (perhaps with the exception of Corvette) will put you to sleep," it is stated.

I couldn't help notice that on buick.com there is a link to a Car and Driver article that says the stunning Riviera will be produced. Why would Buick post that article if it was false. I heard a rumor GM plans to unveil it at the Olympics in Beijing this summer for production in China and the U-S. Can anybody confirm?

Los Angeles Times writer Dan Neil reviews the Buick Enclave in his article, "A Buick crossover plays to more than front row." he states, "There will be a lot of hearty back-and-forth about whether the Enclave meets or beats the standard for mass-class luxury, the Lexus and Acura. Not quite. But the deficits are small and fixable." To view the entire article, click here.

Now that we know that the Zeta Lucerne comes only in 2011, is there any news on an MCE for the current car? An "Enclavisation", maybe?

From today's Detroit Free Press Meanwhile, GM has decided to add models to its Buick brand Vice Chairman Bob Lutz said. Fuelled by the success of Buick’s new Enclave SUV and strong showings in customer satisfaction and quality surveys, “there’s now a consensus within GM that Buick is alive and well and can appeal to young people,” Lutz said. Buick was widely considered to be a candidate for elimination just a couple of years ago.

Ok, I go home tomorrow but I have been in Florida and Atlanta for the last 2 weeks. I've seen Enclaves on the road, in parking lots and at the dealerships. Kudos for the great workmanship and packaging. However, this vehicle is way too rounded, bulbous and has not much going for it in the way of sleekness. I absolutely detest the pillar behind the rear passenger door and the rear storage area. I'm sure that it will be a fine vehicle and that some will definitely like it. I hope it does well because Buick (and GM) can use all the victories they can muster. However, this is a car I would NOT buy if this were my segment. Your poll opinion and any comments?

Essentially, no changes, as we already know. The standard content has gone up to include the leather wheel, the tilt and telescope and a few other items. The optional package is $ 495, which includes (1) the folding rear seat, (2) the power lumbar, and (3) heated seats. I guess that's not SO bad, since the split rear seat cost $ 275 last M.Y. Comment on styling: the new front end is better but not THAT great. IMO, it is TOO tall for the front fascia and the chrome bars are too pronounced. The new shape is definitely the way it should have been, but it should have been a little more understated. Did not bother to get inside. It was 106 degrees in Sin City today…

Buick China I was surfin the net tonight and googled the Chinese Buick's website. It's much cooler than the USA Buick website. I love how they created the skyscraper with the trishield symbol. Anyone else have any comments?

Have you seen the color chips for the new Buicks, particularly for the LaCrosse? Disappointing. The Dark Mocha is basically a dark root beer brown and not a sable type shade. The Midnight Blue is almost black. The Gold Mist looks like a urine sample. The 2 reds are pretty mainstream; that is, no deep burgundy or a "cool" shade like Mulberry seen on Cadillacs and SUVs in years past Lastly, the absence of a Light Quartz equivalent is bad news for a brand that sells well in light blues. Overall, I find the color palette too dark. Do you agree?

So....CTS went in for some minor warranty work....and I snagged a brand-spanking-new Enclave CXL as a loaner!!!!! It's so refreshing and exciting to get into a brand-new GM product and have such a strong "feel-good" reaction because the product is not only good-looking, but makes you feel so good to sit in and drive. This is a new GM product that really needs no excuses.........and man does it get looks on the road! The Enclave is so impressive in person and when you are behind the wheel, it made me search out RX350s, BMW X5s, and Audi Q7s.....just to see those owners' reactions to this sylish new Buick. The sales people at a Ford/Lincoln store I was at (to see a clie…

Okay.....most of you know I'm not a W-body fan.....but I've said repeatedly that I think the styling upgrades on the '08 LaCrosse Super are quite attractive and would most likely make it the GM model I'd buy if locked into one of the three W-bodies.... Have any of you seen the print ad in this month's magazines? It talks all about the new Super....the styling changes.....the chassis improvements.....and even hints that it might be "quicker than a Grand National" (which it's not....Impala SS went 0-60 in 5.7 secs compared to contemporary GN road tests of the times that had the GN just under 5.0sec 0-60.) But NO WHERE in the entire ad does it mention that the Super has a…

Slight update to the sites overall look. The LaCrosse definitely looks better, and I like the new paint choices for the LaCrosse and Lucerne. 3 models. Wow. Looks so scarce.
