So I was home for graduation parties like a week and a half ago. On Saturday night while I was out at a bonfire in the country, my pager went off. It was a medical call for a man that was choking ( at least that is what the dispatcher picked out of the cell phone call that was broken up) The dipatcher pretty much only knew where it was based off the GPS signal that the cell phone sent. So I hopped in the burban and took off, I was only about 3 miles away (luckily, considering that everyone else on the squad would have been in town which was 7 miles away). So I'm first on the scene. looking on the AutoTrader website I happened to come across a 2005 Cobalt SS SC lease takeover for only $234 per month. I was astonished as I didn't expect a car this nice for anything less than $350 per month, even when leased. I am not worried about the requirement for 91+ octane because I found out that instead of creating a price war by selling cheaper gas, some stations sell 90, 92 and 94 for the prices of 87, 89 and 91 respectively. My budget is pretty tight right now, so I will need a part-time job to pay for it. However, I do have quite a bit of free time. I have one simple question for you guys: Should I go for it?

So I came home from chilling with a few of my friends earlier tonight going my usual route. No big deal, I could drive home from work in my sleep if I had to (and practically have, many times; same route I take to work, practically). So I'm about two blocks or so away from my neighborhood, it's not quite as dense as the center of town is, but it isn't quite residential. Not so many cars on the road seeing as its about ten or so. So every year our paper prints the top executives pay here in MN. CEO of Target, 'total compensation' 45 mill. He may be good, but NOT THAT good. and so on, and so on. some guy in charge of lifetime fitness pulled in 40 mill......for renting floor space and treadmills. to top it off some can't afford food and look what these guys make. In our backyard sits an 86 oldsmobile delta 88, for some reason a few years ago the motor went kaput. The car is pretty good condition, even the interior. Im gonna end up getting another 3.0 V6 for it, heard horrible things about the 3.8's reliability. Probably gonna get a motor from a junkyard and clean it up, even run some engine cleaner through it, but does anyone on here have some ideas on things i can do to enhance the performance?

So, apparently, the Finger Lakes Region here has a "wine country" I love wine and am up for trying some new things and there is this tour company that will take you out for 6 hours for 300 bucks in get this.... a restored 1985 Cadillac Seville with a fake convertable top! So, its 12:30am and I'm driving home from the beach. I decide to do something rare, crazy, and irrational, a thing the majority of drivers here don't do - I stop at a crosswalk. During a recent taping of "Street Tuner Challenge", a mildy modified Cobalt SS pounds a Nissan Skyline, as well as a nitrous snorting Jetta. All cars were clearly at the limits of tire adhesion, as the little Cobalt had the best lap by more than seven full seconds. Too bad so sad. It was at Buttonwillow Raceway park, and it's coming up on Speedvision...Watch it if you like that sort of thing. :P no joke.

of my malibu SS sedan. I absolutley love it. The graphite colored cloth/leather interior with the faux aluminum trim, 3 spoke wheel and other SS trim bits is really sharp. the 3.9 is deffinetly fast in this lighter malibu than it is in teh g6 gtp and the gtp was getting very respectable mid to low 0-60 times and good quarter mile times to begin with. The sport suspension and hurdallic steering are very well balllanced and calibrated and I like the tossability and handling of the shorter wheelbase epsilon though it makes for noticably more tourqe steer than the long wheelbase cars. Check out this custom one-off. 1929 Ford with an early 90s 1st gen. Q45 motor transplant. It predated the Lexus hot rod by a few years but I never heard of it until just now when I found it on some random Infiniti forum. Later on as shown here it was obviouslt deemed cool enough by the powers that be at Nissan & Infiniti to dipslay at the show next to a 2nd gen. Q45 in the 97-01 era. It appears the weather will be cooperating (for the most part) for this year's massive Spring Cruise at Ocean City, MD. Thousands of hot cars of every description will descend on the ocean resort town starting today and running through the weekend. I dunno if this is bad karma from the rain or if it's just hit that point in its life where everything just wants to go wrong. CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico - Mexico said Tuesday that it would file lawsuits in U.S. courts if National Guard troops on the border become directly involved in detaining migrants. Mexican border officials also said they worried that sending troops to heavily trafficked regions would push illegal migrants into more perilous areas of the U.S.-Mexican border to avoid detection. Well spring has finally started for me..weve had snow on the ground into may...and its green...its proabbly a little more suprising to me than you because of the ugly yellow color the garss is most of the year...and the trees are a little darker green now too. East coast people arent a sprobably surprised seeing a they get alot of moisture there anyway...heres the pics.. i went fly fishing this week for school in Spearfish Canyon (a few miles south) and its really pretty out there too...maybe this weekend well head out there and ill get some pics..

I was driving through the Nissan-Saturn dealer today to see if they had any SKYs (they didn't) and I notice this orange 350Z convert sitting there with a sticker in the window. It read "MSRP: $39,xxx Reduced: $38,xxx" and I had to do a double take to make sure it was actually $39k. I don't know what anyone else thinks, but I think that's pretty rediculous. I'd take a SKY Redline over that any day and pocket the extra $10k. Hell, that's almost as much as a base Corvette! (granted not a convert - but still).

Well, for the most part at least. Today was the last real day of high school for me. I still have to finish up some Calculus (Final Exam, take home test, and 3 HWs - the teacher always piles stuff on at the end) but other than that I'm home free. I'm not going tomorrow as I have until Thursday to finish up the Calc. Who else is out of school or close?

Okay, doesn't look like going with a new small GM car lease will put the wife and I where we want to be financially (damn insurance premiums in NJ). Looks like it might be car buying time for me again over the summer... I'm a 19 yr old university student though so I don't have a huge budget... I'll probably get something between $4000 and $6500 Canadian... I've been looking around and have seen some decent prices on Cherokees, Impalas, Monte Carlos, Intrigues, Lincolns... etc. How are older Caddy Devilles? I asked a while back about the 89-91ish generation and most people told me to generally avoid them. What about the 94 bodystyle? There are great deals on these to, and they are definitely nice cars... I'm just not sure if they'd be a headache to own or not .
