Alright... Each year, Brookville host's the week long Laurel Festival on Main Street. It officially starts tomorrow, monday morning. Well, most of the things planned all week are quite boring, but it ends with a nice car show on Sunday. Well, being that it's really the only thing worth coming to Brookville for, other than the Labor Day homecoming in nearby Knox Dale, I thought I'd see if anybody wanted to meet there. I mean, might as well come to Brookville to see me sooner or later. And plus it's a car show that closes down Main St... Who can go wrong with that? You could even enter it if you wanted. So... anyone up for it. If not... well.. I thought I'd atleast ask, y…

So I had Chinese for lunch and my cookie had a very interesting fortune, it read: "Your BM will be flushed." This cannot be a good sign for Dollinger. But really, it was lame, "Fortune really helps those who are of good judgement." I want my fortune cookie to say something like "Put $500 on the Miami Heat in Game 3" or something useful like that.

Good? Bad? Trouble prone - stay away from them? Found a really nice looking Black with Black leather '99 Concours with about 52K... waiting for an e-mail on the price. Edmunds says all the techno-gizmos can be a problem, however 6 owner responses report no gizmo problems and most have over 60K. Is the Northstar 4.6L V8 a good engine? Coolant problems? Found this on Ask.com. I feel like kicking the bastards who would molest such a nice '68 Firebird like this right in the balls. I don't know about you, but I am getting sick and tired of looking through a Muscle/Classic Car Trader for a car and seeing crap like that. I found a '67 Camaro and a '70 Chevelle treated the same way. It ranks right up there with some kid ricing out his grandma's Tercel. I guess it's true. Stupidity is a disease.

A while back, my neighbors put their little house cat outside because she "attacked" their daughter (I think it may have been the other way around, but I digress). She was in heat. So of course a tomcat got to her and knocked her up... she was a homeless little girl in trouble. They put food out for her, but didn't let her back inside any more. She's been hopping over from their deck to mine from time to time if she knows my door is open. She'd been trying to get into my house. I've been petting her and being nice to her, but I didn't want to let her in. I had the door open this morning, she heard me through the screen door, so she hopped over and started crying he…

This morning, my friends and I were witness to one of the coolest things in my area for some time. The local mothballed coal fired plant called Lakeview, a long-standing waterfront landmark in Toronto's west end, had its smoke stacks toppled! It looked surreal in person. They fell in a semi-slow-motion way, with a loud thud and plumes of smoke. Check out the videos shot by CTV News : http://toronto.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTV...hub=TorontoHome

So.. I know what you're all thinking.. And I'm thinking the same. I love my Camaro, I really do. I love most everything about it. However, it's wearing on me and isn't as fresh as it was 2 years ago when I started driving, much less 6 years ago when we bought it. What's bugging me about it? Read on. Let's date back to when we bought this thang: almost exactly 6 years ago. Since the first day we had it in the garage, it has had a very slight oil leak. I'm talking about maybe one drip of oil on the garage floor after each time of taking it out for a drive. Not a big deal, no, but it does mean that my rear main is bad. But.. we fixed that with the engine rebuild, right? …

With all these "car shopping" threads in here lately, I thought I'd try one with a cool car in it for a change. So I'm going along my training route on the bicycle on Thursday when I see this early 2nd gen Camaro sitting on some guy's front lawn for sale. I didn't get a very good look at it, but I knew how to get to it for when I could take a longer look. Today, I'm in the neighborhood and I swing by to see if I can talk to the owner and get a better idea of the car's condition. To keep things short, here's the data: It's a '72 Camaro - the typical early '70s dark brown with black stripes. My guess is, it's not a Z/28 or SS, but it has the split bumper Looks to be …

Company paid for it so I took the opportunity to come down to LA and get some continuing education credits at the AIA (read "geek") convention. SENSORY OVERLOAD..not the convention but LA, rather. The convention is at the Convention Center downtown. All of the hotel prices were high in the immediate area, so I stayed in El Segundo (by LAX) where you can take 2 subway/light rail cars (Green Line to Blue Line) and get to downtown for a pittance. This is the first time I have ever been in South Central! An eye opening experience. All the houses have bars on windows. Since I can't come up with $2k... I'm stranded with only $2600 to buy a vehicle. I'm suspecting my parents would atleast be able to help me out a little bit, so I'd say my limit is $3k. What can I get for a lousy $3k? Give me suggestions. However, I'm still going to continue to be picky. I will only consider cars with 4cyls, manual trannies, and two doors. I might consider a sedan depending on what it is. That means... no floaty Buicks and such. As far as reliability... f@#k it. As long as the car itself runs good, I'll deal with it regardless of it's reputation.

Every Friday, a group of us at work head out for lunch at a nearby steakhouse. Recently, a new Chili's has opened near our work, and we had talked about trying it. Last Friday, as we walked out to the parking lot to head out ("my" guy Ryan and another friend), we discussed where we would go. The other friend and I wanted to go to Chili's, Ryan didn't want to, but he reluctantly agreed we would meet at Chili's, along with two other coworkers. I told Ryan I had to go to the bank, but would meet them at Chili's and I took off in my truck while they waited for the other 2 guys. I got to Chili's and waited a couple short minutes before getting a table. The server put 4…

As I was sitting in Mickey D's this evening being a bad boy eating my quarter pounder, I watched to see who would leave the restaurant and hop in a gray, base model Honda Fit in the parking lot. It was an 80-year-old lady, 95 pounds at most, with a huge hairdo, accompanied by her p.i.m.p., a dude who was at least 80 and walking pretty slowly. Has the "Fit is Go!" ad campaign fallen on (nearly) deaf ears? Is every "hip, young" Japanese car doomed to congregate at Friday Night Bingo at the VFW? I find this phenomenon pretty amusing.

Today on my way back from school I saw a 2007 Acura RDX proto. It had black tape over the rear lights and badges but it was silver. It looked pretty good but I didnt see too much of the front. I guess the RDX was testing because we are only about half an hour from the Alliston Honda Plant.

I'm not even going to pretend the car is salvagable. I was going about 50ish in a 55 into a left curve, the car got away from me (not entirely sure how) and I went off the road, cartwheeled through an embankment, the car ended up on the passenger side in a field. The woman who was in front of me turned around, when I saw her up on the road (a good 20 feet above my head) I could see her jaw had just dropped. Well, if this doesn't solidify the fact that the GT500 is a porky, underperforming "performance" car, I don't know what does: http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83159 4130lbs (and it's not even the convert!), 56/44 weight distribution, 1/4 mile in 13.1 and $47k+ does not seem to appealing to me. A 2006 GTO with a good driver and a couple simple bolt-ons will beat the GT500 for $15k less, and that's before dealer markups. And what's the point of having 500HP if it's made at redline? Unless the fuel cut-off is well above redline, the 500HP is only available for a very short time.

There is a video on VVCARS.COM where it shows Chery's design studio. If you look closely at some parts, you can see a design of the Volkswagen Touareg. The other one shows the Mazda Kusabi clearly and if you look to the right of the designer's ear, you can see the Chevy SS. I can understand if this is for inspiration but Chinese cars have a bad history for copying other cars. To see this, go to the website and click on Factory. There will be a video and if you pause it, you can see some of them.

So today around 2pm I gave XP a ride to work after he put the Cutlass on my front lawn with a for sale sign. We notice that there's a '97/'98 Honda Accord in the parking lot at Dounkin Donuts in Drum Hill Chelmsford with what looks like a broken tie-rod, I pulled in to investigate and this is what I saw. I laughed and took the photos as I asked the kid WTF happened, he says "it just let go as I turned the wheel... the axle slipped right out & the suspension just snapped" As I walked away I said lound enough for him to hear... "Gotta love those Hondas, next time go for RWD." Then I got inside my RWD Q45 and drove away laughing my @$$ off as I told …

We know who you hate on C&G (sort of) so who do you hate outside of C&G? I would stab the following people in the face*: Bryan Adams John Basedow John Stamos Chris Berman Dick Cheney Thats all I can think of right now. *I do not condone violence towards anyone, but these people really annoy me and I make an effort to avoid them.

Out of Tuners? An Autoweek writer comments on the sport compact tuner scene and opines on what he thinks seems to be a trend on the decline. He cites the declination of quality and quantity of attendance as possible evidence that the tuning scene may be making its way out. Does he have a point? Read "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow?" @ Autoweek

Seems like everyone around me lately seems to be picking up some kind of Neon. I'm not sure why though. It started with a coworker picking up a 95. Then my neighbor around the corner picked up a 99. Now a good friend of mine just picked up a 98 Neon with 75k for 900 bucks (not bad, I say) for a beater. Now he wants me to get one to replace the aged cav wagon.... THough it did get me thinking... The wife had a 95, which had issues to last the least..(head gasket (twice), elec. issues, ate batteries.... Aside from the issues though, it was fun to drive (and even more fun to abuse toward the end) and it got kick butt milage...even while putting 2-3 quar…

Okay, yesteraday after giving the Dakota a good exterior cleaning at the car wash, I notice some pretty nasty areas on the roof and hood of the truck. Here. Take a look for yourself. The hood: The roof: Another part of the roof: Okay, yeah, I guess it could be much worse, but this still requires new paint on the roof and hood. I mean, just look at the roof. It's stripped down to the primer in one spot. I guess what I need to ask is, what will it cost to get the roof and hood repainted?

There is a club holding an event at the St.Thomas racetrack for Cavaliers and GM compact cars. The article from CanadianDriver states that GM will show off vehicles there including the SATURN AURA. I think I know where I'm going on Saturday. it is not to far from St.Thomas, Ontario which is fairly close to Buffalo and even Michigan if you dont mind the drive. It is probably a 2 1/2 drive from Detroit. Read the article to see where it is and it gives a link to the track's website. This would be great even for a little C&G meet if people show up. Here is the link. Gm Compact Car Show Details

I'm leaving tomorrow at 4:30AM for the airport to get on a plane to go to Miami where I will stay for a day and then get on a cruise ship to cruise around the Bahamas and other areas. Just thought I should let everyone know why I will probably not be here much from tomorrow until June 11.

I guess now would be the perfect time to admit that I am only a 15 yr. old boy and the breeze and saturn are my parent's cars, but I have a great deal of care for them.... Anyway, my dad was driving home from work(its raining) and he went to turn off of sunrise highway at our exit and some guy in a little toyota ramed the breeze in the rear passenger side door....the whole door is caved in(luckily no interior damage or window damage) but the panit is all scraped up and I cant even call it a dent it is so big...Thank god for insurance! The police said that the accident was the other guys fault. *pics coming soon*

It's the first actual "date" in a long while.. I'm hoping to make the best of it. We're going to see a movie then it'll be dark when the movie gets out, so we're going to take a walk down some pathways behind the one school (it's really nice back there) and it's a long enough walk to get to know her a lot better. I'm so excited, guys; wish me luck! (omg I feel like Nick lol )

So... I've been interviewing for a teaching position starting next year since when I graduated, budgets failed and there were no permanent Italian positions available on the Island. I was fortunate and got several interviews relatively quickly, and one district has been working fast (not common for schools on Long Island), and the procedure has been quick. I have my 5th interview tomorrow (yes, on Long Island, this is normal), with this one district. You have to first interview with a committee, then do a demo lesson, then interview with the chairperson of the department, then an assistant principal, then interview with a principal, then with the superintendent, an…

It's me! Cory! I'm back! For the time that I was away I really got to realize a few things. First of all, I'd like to apologize to everyone. Since being on medication I've been... like my old self in ways that I'm not proud. It's like I... de-matured with this stuff. I had worked hard to change myself a while ago and it seems after all that, I'm going back to how I was before. So... I've realized this and am going to try to get back to where I worked to get myself. I've also realized I love Chris... what would I ever do without him and the book he gave me? Also that I'm in love, get C&G-sick instead of home-sick, and that I lust for so many things... I really want …

What do you really hate about people's cars that you've been in? I'll start with my neighbors 2000 Ford Focus.... Everytime there is a bump/turn/road disturbance...I bang my head on the C-pillar in the backseat..It is SOOOO annoying! The inside of the car is too narrow and compact for me. The Springs in the wheel wells and the doors creek when they are opened/disturbed

Okay, I'm working my ASS off today at work and check my phone to see what time it is... Well it shows that I have a text, so I read it and it says this: The police are looking 4 a suspect described as sexy, funny & great in bed. Your ugly ass is safe but where should i hide? And I just died laughing. Imagine getting that exact message when you're in the middle of working harder at work than you have in the last 4+ months! :rotflmao:

WHY? http://storm.tocmp.com/oldsmobile1964.htm There's a small chance I might be rollin' in a 1964 Super 88 soon. So for the past 5 nights I stay up at night with images of metallic stitching, the chrome AM radio, Ultra High Performance 394, four door hardtop roofline and the soon to be eBay listing for my 1968 Camaro. By the 4th of July I might be driving around in a classic Oldsmobile and the Camaro wil have a new owner. Any member of C&G can come by and take my Camaro off my hands right now for $3500 motor and all!

The new devices section of General MOtors actually cares about what I think... they sent me a cool form letter saying I need to re-submit my ideas for the 5th gen. Camaro. My biggest & most important "hot-button" is that they keep the hardtop greenhouse for production. Check out the letter they sent: http://i3.tinypic.com/117qtug.jpg http://i3.tinypic.com/117ra76.jpg ------

The local Chevy-Cadillac-MB-Volvo dealership posted an ad in the paper for 2 people to detail cars. It says it's full time, so I'll have to investigate that (I would rather work 4 days a week and have 2 days off - something like Mon, Tues, Thurs, Sat) but I think it might be a pretty good job for the summer. I think I'd get to clean up the new vehicles and take them to the gas station to fuel them up, which might be fun. It's certainly better than a burger-flipping job, and I think I'm going to get really bored if I don't get a job for the summer, but I don't want to work full time either. What does everyone think about this as a possible summer job?

All right, currently I have a 2001 Chevrolet Impala LS 9C1 sedan. 3.8L 231cid 90* Buick V6, 4T65E transmission. 115,720 miles on the odometer. Oil changed every 3500 miles (give or take 20miles), transmission fluid changed at 100,000 along with coolant flush and refill. Full tune-up (plugs, wires, oil, trans fluid, coolant, hoses, pcv valve, etc) performed at 105,000 miles. Brakes replaced all the way around by 80,000 miles, front rotors turned at that time. Replaced front wheel hub assemblies at 109,000 miles (although I have to yank the driver's one out again due to a bad ABS wheel speed sensor). Front end aligned at 85,000. Struts never replaced, although that'…
