This was posted on WWW.Z28.COM: :o    Sex For Protection -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed. He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he's in there, the husband tells his wife: "Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman…

Well, I can't say that having a quiet car is a bad thing (in fact I hate the level of engine noise in my Cavalier), but is sometimes too quiet a bad thing? Especially a brand like Pontiac, shouldn't there be more engine noise to make it feel sportier? Surprisingly, a Sunfire is a bit more quiet than a Cavalier because it has slightly better materials. But shouldn't it be the other way around? Is it like we should make a Pontiac as quiet as a Buick? I remember there were reports that people complained the Porsche 996 was too quiet and in the new one they had to make it noisier.

Well, I'm now without a soul, as it has been ripped out of me by the computer world underlords. I got my new laptop today, a Dell Inspiron 6000 with an Intel Celeron processor and, of course, Windows XP. Now what about this thing isn't evil? On the bright side, I sprung for the Mediterranian Blue cover for it, which is almost distractingly pretty. I bought it after I realized that school work goes a lot easier at the library, etc when I'm not writing, since I have horrible handwriting.

Whatsup guys, I know I'm kinda new to the forums, but just wanted to say how I have seen a lot of skill in the showroom section, with people chopping, specially Nos and Plumcrazy (sorry if i mispelled ur name), and i was thinking how the people on this forum should get more into chopping and designing cars, and especially in the contest section. I think even if the majority of people on this forum might not know how to chop cars, you guys still should give it a shot, because it would be cool to see maybe more than 6 or 7 entries in the contest. I would like to see probly like 15-20 entries, i mean out of more than 1,000 people on this forums, only 6-7 make contest c…

So I did. http://www.autoextremist.com/page6.shtml#table Detroit's NASCAR Infatuation. Fishel told Mulhern that NASCAR is stuck "on a plateau" and that, "For the first time in recent memory there is no big story, no big direction. Paulie's "Edmunds" Review: 1992 Buick Century When most people think of a family sedan, they think of the Toyota Camry, the Honda Accord, the Hyundai Elantra, or even a Ford Aspire, but many fail to consider Buick's Century (because we tell them not to). The Century, part of an aging design on a decrepit body, using GM's tried-and-true, super-old crappy, err, I mean OHV, 3300 engine, is just one of the offered engines in the lineup. Families trying to save a penny here or there can stick with the anemic standard 4-banger (and boy does it bang!), 110-hp engine, but most will opt for the 6. The 3300 delivers 160 mediocre horses, and 185f…

Well we can argue over FWD/RWD, V8/V6. We can discuss wheel base or overall lenght. We can cry for more power, larger wheels and more elaborate interiors but what is the reality of the automobiles future? Yes, you guessed it, this is a oil price and availability drivin question. So what do we really need now that its going to cost 3 bucks for every 20-26 miles and talks that within a few years it will be 5 bucks. Is it time to bring back the big block V8 ? Body on frame, 225 inch long cars ? Most of us here are car freaks, so off course we want more, more, more but what is the reality ? For the first time in over a decade Im starting to wish I had the old VW diesel …

Ok, so I dont think I've mentioned this, but a couple of months ago, my mom decided to take a job in England. She left two weeks ago (my dad is going over after she gets settled and decides if she wants to stay) and was told she was going to need a car. They told her that her Saturn would "make her a target" (it would probably be the only L300 there) and besides that, its was too big. So in the time she isn't spending at work or trying to hook me up with waitresses (I'm never going to go visit if she does that the whole time I'm there) she's been looking for a car. I talked to my dad this morning, and apparently she bought a Corsa, which …

I went downstairs last night to let my dog out to pee, and when I turned the back light on, I saw two slugs fu*king while stuck to my sliding glass door. Being the mean guy that I am, I decided to break up the party by sprinkling salt on them. They unhooked themselves, contracted their bodies, and started going in circles while secreting a shitload of slime all over my glass door. It was DISGUSTING. It looked like a camel with a cold sneezed on it. They finally dropped off the glass and started (relatively) running away. I immediately turned the hose sprayer on the door, but that slug slime is tough! It stuck like Krazy Glue, but finally, the full-blast spray …

OK, as the title: If GM is to start another business, division, group, whatever you call it, what would this be? For me it would be a official modding company. Provide original SS, GXP, V, T-Type, Alpha performance and appeareance modifications while maintaining factory warranty. A bit different from RKSport (don't know if this is owned by GM though), where they only sell parts. My idea is a one stop shop to sell the parts AND provide service like installation.

So I went out to the dealers tonight to see what new models they had and took some pics of them. Unfortunately the lighting is always really bright at car dealerships at night so some of the pics turned out bad because of it, so I apologize for the poor quality of some of the pics (I actually deleted probably half of them because some were so bad). Anyways, first up was the G6 coupe. It looked better than I was expecting, and I actually quite liked the rear. The rearseat legroom looked very good for a coupe, and the interior looked much better with the new steering wheel. I think a GTP with the 18s would be quite a looker. Holy cow has this summer kicked my ASS as far as concerts go. It all started about three months ago when I staged a "getaway" down south to catch Kid Rock in Tennesse, Atlanta, Georgia and one other southern state which name currently escapes me for some odd reason. After that it's been plenty of local shows. Jocaine (of course!) Papa Roach with/311 (left before ghey11 took the stage) and more Jocaine. Motley Crue was just a few short days ago and it was a blast. I think I may head to a few shows spontaniously (sp?) over the next few days and top it off with another JoCaine (Of course again!) show sometime early next week. Anybody else catch concer…

I thought this would be a fun topic. If you could bring back or create five new GM vehicles that aren't currently in the lineup, what would they be? Here's my list: 1. Cadillac ULS - range topping Cadillac to compete with 7er/S-Class/etc. 2. Buick Velite - RWD sedan, coupe, and convert versions based on the concept. 3. Pontiac "G8" - RWD sedan based loosely on the GTO (next gen GTO, if there is one). 4. Pontiac Kappa sedan - something to give Pontiac a model below the G6. 5. Chevy Camaro - self explanatory I think.

GM, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford, DCX, Hyundai, etc. co-existing and living in harmony. Would it end pissing matches among car enthusiasts? Would the auto industry become less of a raging battlefield? Would it improve international relations? (This may be a stretch.) Share your thoughts.

So I went to a Christian rock concert tonight because a friend of mine wanted to go since he really likes the band that played. They're a local band that isn't really known outside of central Iowa. I had a couple drinks over at another friend's apartment and then went over with him to the frat where they were playing. So we're at the concert and there's probably 150-200 people there. Well... Since I can't find the "Old Auto Show Concepts" forum, I'll just post it here Could have made a great Alero replacement, looks ready for Epsilon. Lose the sliding doors and give it a formal trunk. Makes me want to weep every time I see that oval emblem :(

So I'm off to San Diego for a five-day late-summer vacation. I leave the house on Thursday (at 2:30AM) and should be back on Tuesday, the 30th. It'll be sunny in the mid 70s the whole time I'm there....sweet.

Ok, I'm at a software conference/convention over at Disney's contemporary resort. A few questions for your native Floridians (I know a couple of you are from here): 1) What's with the flipping humidity? 2 seconds outside and you think to yourself: dang, I should've put deoderant on my balls. 2) What's with the STUPID "ApplianceDirect" commercials? They are about 15 minutes long, they've got some wacko pseudo-homely chick and some crazy guy talking non-stop -- and they alternate yelling "ApplianceDirect!". I stumbled upon it the first night I was here (Sat) and I (unfortunately for me) couldn't stop watching it: i…

Hey guys. After receiving several steep tickets in the past couple years for speeding... a few of them where I was lucky to have gotten away with being radared at like 95mph since I had been doing 100+ I've broken down and bought the Phazer. I do not trust radar detectors since I've heard too many storiess of them giving NO warning at all. NOw i'm kicking myself since the archives are gone and I had not given so much as a glance at the Radar detector thread. Anyone else own a Phazer? I've got my plugged in and since I do not own a radar/laser gun I can't verify it's effectiveness. What's the word on these things? Do they really scramble the si…

here's the orginal post I had made at modern driver about it http://s7.invisionfree.com/ModernDriver/in...p?showtopic=341 Later yesterday a friend I know that's more knowledgable in car mechanics than I took a ride down there with me and we looked at the car as well as I brought a camera. His first comment was "Eh.. I don't know about this Decker.. not for $3k" He said he knows a guy that lives down the road from him that's selling a 1960s GMC pickup for $2500 but I'm not that big of a truck guy... Here's the pics I took, please tell me your thoughts... http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/decka/camaro/03.jpg http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/decka/camaro/04.jpg …

Big 3 lose ground to the imports

From the domestic automakers good journalist friend........yup you guessed it: Christine Tierney! Sales of import brands rose sharply in the first half of August as Detroit automakers ran out of new car and truck supplies after extending generous employee-style discounts to all buyers. General Motors Corp., which initiated the employee discount plan in June, saw its share of the U.S. market drop from 29 percent in July to below 25 percent in the first two weeks of August, according to online auto research site Edmunds.com. Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Corp., which matched GM's plan in July, fared slightly better in the first half of August while Japanese…

"From a Buick 8..."

From a Buick 8. If you haven't read this, do yourself a favor. As with other Stephen King books, it's very well written. And if you think a Buick is for Grampy and Granny, this will sure as hell change your mind. The story centers around the ultimate Buick from hell. A '54 Roadmaster with a dummy V8 engine, a dash meant for show, a key that cannot start any car of our imagination, a deap blue paintjob that's restant to all dirt and other Earthly substances and able to heal scratches (my, my, wouldn't we love to have that feature standard on a new Impala), fat ass whitewalls able to spit even the smallest grain of sand out of their treads, a steering…

First, is the parking brake supposed to work? :P Seriously... My yard is on a hill if anyone noticed from some of my pics. The driveway is level. However, today I washed and waxed my GA. Since the driveway needs re-graveled, my GA gets filthy just sitting there when it rains. So I parked it in the yard.. and set the parking brake. Well, I like to sit in it and listen to music sometimes. I was doing that last night. I ended up messing around and pressed in the clutch... *surprise* it starts rolling back. It now sits 3ft from where it was originally. I wasn't expecting that... So, this is nice to know... Second, how do I remove the badges? Or, should I even do it wit…

As some of you may know cars are my life. If I had to choose betwen cars and women I would choose cars. Cars are the only thing that kept me going through all my depressed suicidal times... There is nothing I love more than cars...I have been stressing a long time now because I have been trying to find my car, but the car I want isn't easy to find. When I found my car I was planning on paying for it and my parents promised me as a graduation present (my only one) to co-sign the loan for me when I find my car, because obviously I don't have credit which would make it nearly impossible to find a loan (which I am experiencing right now). Well, I found my car. The…

...does not have the same ring as "Sweet Home Alabama"...by a long shot. But, be that as it may, I am home safe'n'sound from my latest road trip...wishing, of course, I was still on the road. Heh...but, bills must be paid. My eastern road trip, just like my western one last year, was an absolute blast! Life is short, so, like last year, I made the most of my time by meeting/catching up with people. I missed seeing "too many" people for various reasons, but those "misses" allowed me more time to spend with those I did see, more time to relax/sleep, & time to take scenic routes (i.e. I-90/SR 2 in Ohio en route to Michigan…

Mechanics struck Northwest Airlines early Saturday after refusing big pay cuts and layoffs that would have cut their numbers almost in half. The nation's fourth largest airline pledged to keep flying with replacements. After months of talks broke off here just before midnight Friday, union spokesman Jim Young said the mechanics would rather see the airline go into bankruptcy than agree to Northwest's terms. The Airline Mechanics Fraternal Association 4,427 of Northwest's 40,000 workers. The strike began at 12:01 a.m. EDT. Flight attendants and pilots at Northwest Airlines said they would not join the walkout by mechanics. Julie Hagen Showers, Northwe…

Okay, okay... here's the deal. I am finally going to take the test to get my driver's license. FINALLY!!! :D Anyways, there is one detail that I am very confused about. Nobody in my family can give me a straight answer about it. The parking/emergency brake. Am I supposed to use it when I park... in an automatic transmission car? Yes? No? ...I need an answer, please. Now... to get everybody caught up on why it has taken so long. First, I didn't take the permit test a good month or so after my B-day... because of my parents. Then when it came time to take the license test... my parents cancelled it because of my aunt's wedding which was a few d…

You've gotta love kids these days...So here I am sitting up in my room...my room faces the front of our house...my window is wide open and my lights are on... I here these footsteps coming up towards my house...I think nothing of it and I dont bother looking outside...next thing you know I hear this banging on my door and these kids laughing and running away... From how I remember it, you are usually supposed to ring the doorbell but whatever...I just love how they did it...I mean, my lights on and you can clearly see me up in my room. I know who they are, they live only a couple houses down, I can hear them out there right now, sounds like they are having a get tog…
