I thought it was an excellent follow up! I'd give the original a 9 and this one an 8.5 The very first scene is one of the most intense scenes I've ever witnessed in a movie and the ending has a great twist! I hope they don't make it into a franchise though (Which is what it looks like they're going to do)

NOTE: I figured somebody had to pick up the slack from 98's abscence, and post the latest Autoextremist articles. So I did. Detroit. After wading through yet another glowing article about NASCAR, this time from Fortune magazine (September 5th cover date), it's clear to me that the mainstream media and sports marketing gurus have not only partaken of the NASCAR Kool-Aid, they've had taps installed in their houses for a constant free-flowing dose of it every morning. Members of the media in a kinder, gentler era would refer to Fortune's genuflection to and canonization of NASCAR as a "puff" piece. I'm not going to be that nice. This is 200…

I am starting to nitpick my truck, which usually means another new vehicle purchase is only a few months away. It won't be 2 years old until January 23rd and it has 27k miles. In heavy rains, it leaks. The headliner gets wet at the top of the driver's A-pillar. Also, it suddenly has a bunch of rattles in the doors and underneath. And I fear I am hearing the wear indicator on the front brake pads already. It's going in on Tuesday for a free promotional oil change and a brake inspection. I don't want to sound petty, I mean the truck runs fine, and starts with barely a flick of the key. It does have a couple very minor scuffs from people carelessl…

One of my coworkers has been looking to buy an SUV and instead of a Toyota, I convinced him that a Chevy TrailBlazer was a bargain and a good choice instead of a Highlander or 4Runner... After checking Consumer Reports, etc and test driving a few, he bought a used '05 with 12k miles for $20k. (now he's probably the only 30yr old Indian programmer in Denver driving a Chevy (no kidding-- 99% of software developers from India I know drive Toyotas--not a stereotype)

It's on now....I was praying for lesbians and there were gay people on the first set. Some dude who I can't remember his name is getting knocked by the other guys on the bus because he's ugly. I love this show. Especially when gays/lesbians get on there. Usually the chicks all end up making out with each other on the bus towards the end. No offense is meant by my post...but it's a show I find entertaining.

Kinda appropriate to call it a countdown since 24 premiered in syndication this weekend across America. In any case, all I really remember is a nice lowered Intrepid on fins, a 90s Cutlass Supreme sedan on some sort of big dubs (yes, both cars looked quite nice), and a advertising shrink wrap equipped Pacifica (from far away, I thought it was an SRX)

Is it 1973 because of the catalytic converters? Maybe 1977, with the beginning of the boxy styling craze (including rectangular headlights)? Is it somewhere in the 80s, with the switch to fuel injection and the death of chrome bumpers? Or is it the 90s, when all these transitions were complete and every car was officially "computerized" (with more crapola to come)? Can the cutoff year slide into more recent years? Or did one prick just say "it stops at the 50s!" and it just is what it is and will be for all time?

OK, there's an awesome new vehicle that you've just gotta have, but there's one problem. The color you've seen (and love) on other cars isn't available on your model... bah. Name your vehicle and the color you wish it came in. For example, I'd love to see a Colorado shortbed regular cab ZQ8 in monochrome Laser Blue with Ebony leather and machined or polished factory rims, and a Colorado Z71 4X4 in that cool new pearl brown color that's on the LaCrosse and '06 Impala and Monte with tan interior, body color flares, and machined finished factory rims. I'd also like to see a nice pale yellow return, like the beautiful Butternut Ye…

OK, this analogy popped on the top of my mind for some reason: Chevrolet -> A jug of water. Two parts hydrogen, one part oxygen. The necessities of everyone. Pontiac -> A nice bottle of beer, chilled to the right temperature. What GM is basically doing, by giving Pontiac rebadge Chevys, GM is pouring water into beer. It's like... who wants to drink diluted beer? Beer has H2O naturally in it (platform sharing), but don't pour it in directly! :alcoholic: :P And here's another one: Toyota -> A bottle of methanol wine. At the moment you're drinking it, it tastes just like wine, but eventually it'll make you blind and kill you.

So, i'm up at the local license bureau, licensing a car for one of my customers. I was in a rush since it was late in the day, my licensing girl had already been up there twice that day, so i went myself. So, i got that done, stepped outside and tripped over some uneven pavement. We who post here, we're red-blooded CAR fans...we like performance, we like being low to the ground...they're simply more interesting, more fun, and they just do it for us.... In the beginning, SUVs were called 4x4s, and were only made by six companies: Jeep Land Rover Toyota (Land Cruiser has to be one of the greatest inventions) Chevy/GMC Ford Dodge Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Mercedes came in with their entries in the late 70s and early 80s...they all were rugged, real off-roading machines that knew their role, and left all of that trying to be the best peoplemover and citymobile crap to cars, the way mature intended. Then, two ugly things happened: Suzuk…

I know this is way off topic here, but I figured *some* car nuts should know how to build things out of wood. I went to Home Depot and bought 12 pieces of spruce, 8 feet long each. I'm going to build a shoe rack and a laundry hamper. I cut 5 boards in thirds, and cut a sixth in 10 9-inch sections. The thirds go side by side with a 9-inch section at each end to form shelves. So I've used 1/2 of the wood so far. I want to build the sides and back (if necessary) out of as little wood as possible, so that my hamper can be bigger. Will 5 shelves screwed in to the vertical sides have strength? Will this design want to lean one way or the other, wobbling? If I do need a ba…

So far they've painted the exterior with a blue fade....with orange flames. On the interior, they've installed two dog bowls (the owner carries around dogs) with a TV for the dogs to watch...ok. I was walking along sidewalk enjoying the sunny, warm day when I glanced over at this new Jeep Commander sitting in the disabled spot of the parking lot of a retail store. The store was for the handicapped to outfit their vehicles for their special needs. "Final Objective" is a street legal 55 Chevy with a V12 1650ci Rolls Royce Merlin engine (the same type of engine used most of the P51 Mustang fighter aircraft). New Samsung BLADE Phone For Sprint

This phone destroys the RAZR in every way imaginable. We knew it would happen sooner or later, and it looks like the FCC has just approved Samsung’s SCH-V740, or “Blade”, cellphone to be sold in the US as the SPH-A900. According to the FCC filing, this dual-band model will debut on the Sprint network, and will sport a swiveling camera, Bluetooth, external display with media buttons, and EVDO. As usual with these FCC docs, important info such as price and release date are unfortunately absent. http://cellphones.engadget.com/entry/1234000190064364/

Also, I vacuumed out under the dash and notice the plastic panel between the firewall and back of the center stack isn't soft. Its hard. Also, when I turned the key in the ignition, I heard a very disconcerting sound coming from the front of the car. It was some sort of growling, like some sort of machinery was there. And when I started accelerating, the noise grew louder! I think I'm going to buy a Lexus. :P :CG_all:

Sure I love BMW and have the utmost respect for Deusenbergs, Bugattis, Packards, Auburns and Pierce Arrows... I even like certain M.B.s and Lincolns but in the end Cadillac is my favorite by a far. So I thought I'd share some of my favorites through the years: 1928 Cadillac Imperial Cabriolet 1930 Cadillac V16 (Al Capone's personal armored ride) 1930 boat tail V16 1931 one of one tripple red V16 1931 V16 roadster 1932 Cadillac Dual Cowl Phaeton V16 1936 Cadillac Imperial limo V16 1948 Caddy Ragtop …

More and more I see guys that are in their mid 30s and up, on skateboards and they often look slightly foolish to me. It seems like a young person's thing...am I wrong in this?....just a fun topic to see how you all see this.

I know I've been working too much (7th day in a row was today) and I finally have a day off (tomorrow: Tuesday) but I'm the sickest I've been in quite sometime. I don't know if it's this weather or what but I feel like total crap! Has anybody else been feeling the "ups and downs" lately? My cat of 18 years is sick due to this weather! Hopefully he's not dying but that's another post for another day. So, anybody else not feel up to the task? My 1 day off will be had in bed. Blah!

I am guilty of buying too many cars. In the past three years I have owned a 1999 Grand Am, 1993 GMC Sierra, 2003 Corolla, 1985 Grand Marquis and a 2005 Acura RSX. Looking at that I have wasted too much money on cars. I have the RSX and access to my fathers Sierra (which I am beginning to love) at the current time. I want to drop the RSX in favour of a new truck, but I am going to get raked over the coals. Is there a help clinic for people like me? The only other option is to work at a car dealer and get new demos every 8000 kms!

On Lincoln Way in east Ames, a few stations are currently having some type of gas war. Right now, regular unleaded is $2.09 per gallon at the Citgo, Casey's, and Phillip's 66 all right by each other. About half a mile west is a BP where 87 is $2.48, and further west most stations are averaging $2.50. It's crazy...I filled up my car for less than $30 for the first time in months!

I put this particular animation together for another forum to because there was some debate about the possibility that the individual images were presented out of sequence. I figured that as my animation is being passed from forum to forum, I might as well let you guys see it. This happened very recently at a "Cruise" event at the local circuit race track. It was a "low speed" cruise event, so helmets weren't required, and the poorly installed 4 point seatbelts proved useless in a rollover. Fortunately there were no serious injuries. The passenger (on the left side ... the car is RHD) received grazes and needed stitches for a gash in her head from hitting the ro…

Very long list, I wont bother to copy it all over here. I will say this, some very very not good songs on it. Clicky for full list I have to admit, seeing Too Drunk to F*ck on any best songs lists is awesome, Hunger Strike should be higher than 471, Jump by Kriss Kross (seriously, wtf?) The list is bogus, complete crap, like four good songs on it. We should destroy Blender magazine. I mean come on, the list has the Macarena in the top 200.

The new Black Eyed Peas video, My Hump (seriously, that's the name) has some of the most godawful lyrics I've ever been subjected to: Those are some lovely lady lumps you have there dear...   The other thing that is very confusing about this video, is the used of a riced out Sonoma! You know the typical rap video where they rap and dance in front of a car in a white room? Usually it's an Escalade. Apparently the BEP can't afford that. ^_^

Nothing really special today, just a typical, ultra-busy Wednesday with school, work, and bible study later-hopefully after church go out with some friends for dinner or something. Oh, and as of 10:05 AM, its my birthday and I'm 22!

By: Alistair Weaver Date Posted 10-10-2005 BMW and Mercedes-Benz are at war again, and the stakes could not be higher. This is not simply a matter of 7 Series versus S-Class or SLK against Z4. This is a struggle for the future direction of the automobile. Inside Line asked senior figures from Mercedes and BMW to outline their companies' visions of the future, and while they agree on some issues, there are also some startling and fundamental differences of opinion. Munich is represented by Professor Raymond Freymann. As the managing director of BMW's Research and Technology division, he is responsible for "translating crazy ideas into reality." His…

My friend just bought a dark grey 2006 4.0l v6 5-speed Mustang. The shift knob top rotates fairly freely. I was taking it for a little drive, and tried to shift from first to second without fully gripping the shifter - I just sort of put my hand on the top right side like I do in the Cobalt. This should work since you're pulling it down and left to go to 2nd. However, the knob rotated a full 180, and my hand slipped off the shifter. Nothing bad happened from this - I just thought I should relate what is wrong. He said he's taken it in to the dealer to ask about it, and they said it's supposed to rotate, to "accomodate different grip styles". It'…
