Here are pictures and a video of the 2010 Mercedes E350 Coupe at the Georgian College Autoshow in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. One of the only true hardtops on the market. It looked incredible in the sunshine. I find that little rear quarter window a bit strange, but I guess they had to do it to get the sleek roofline. VIDEO: PICS:

SANTA MONICA, California — The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe is just days away from its official debut at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show, and Inside Line now has an early look at the future Mercedes E-Class cabriolet as well. Since the new E-Class coupe is positioned as the replacement for the current Mercedes CLK coupe and cabrio, the arrival of a convertible shortly thereafter is all but certain. In fact, IL sources claim that the convertible is already headed for production with a soft-top design similar to the current CLK cabrio to keep cost and weight down. Power is expected to come from the same engines offered in the E-Class coupe: a 292-horsepower direct-injecte…

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class unveiled via web leak Dec 9th 2008 at 3:28PM Link to Article We've seen so many spy shots of the upcoming 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class that these official images hardly move us. Yet here they are, three images leaked onto the web that reportedly reveal the final production form of the 2010 E-Class, which makes its official debut at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show in March. The new E-Class was previewed by the Mercedes-Benz ConceptFascination that debuted at this year's Paris Motor Show, and we can see now that the front of the production car was heavily influenced by the concept. Revealed: Maybach 62 Landaulet Link to Original Article @ Motor Authority Maybach’s newest model has been revealed ahead of its world debut at the upcoming Dubai Motor Show in a couple of week’s time. The car is a new semi-convertible version of the 62 saloon that officials will be calling a concept, but a limited production run of just 20 examples is all but confirmed for early next year. The new model is based on the current Maybach 62 but adopts a sliding roof over the rear compartment. The Landaulet design was made popular in the early part of the century and is basically a regular sedan with a fabric roof-center that can be folded away. The car also gets a revis…

According to Bloomberg, the next version of the B-Class compact crossover is being designed for sale in the U.S. Available in Europe since 2005, the B-Class is due for a makeover in 2011 or 2012. Previous attempts to alter the current car for U.S. sale were nixed for cost reasons, but the new car is being designed for global sale from day one. This process lowers cost, allowing the B-Class to build a better business case. “At least we have the door open,…

click here Mercedes Dies-OttoRewriting the rules of internal combustion By JEFFERY P. VETTRAINO AutoWeek | Updated: 07/25/07, 4:02 pm et The demise of the internal combustion engine has been greatly exaggerated, or so Mercedes-Benz thinks. The company’s position stems from empirical observation, based on all rational evidence: Internal combustion will remain the workhorse in transportation and power equipment for decades to come. Beyond this conclusion, Mercedes’ advanced engineering staff believes the efficiencies in both spark-ignition and diesel engines are a long way from tapped out, even after 100-plus years of development. To demonstrate its point, Mercede…

2008 Mercedes-Benz R-Class: What’s New Half as many return for 2008 by Marty Padgett | Link to Original Article @ TCC | (2007-07-24) The R-Class "sports tourer" was introduced in 2006 as an all-new model. It resembles a slightly sportier and more aerodynamic wagon with conventional passenger-car doors - not unlike the Chrysler Pacifica. For 2007, Mercedes added a high-performance R63 AMG with 507 horsepower and a diesel-powered R320 CDI to the lineup. For 2008, the R63 AMG and R500 versions have been dropped, leaving a V-6 diesel or gas version from which to choose. The R350 model is now offered in rear- or four-wheel drive. Both versions are fitted to a new seven…

I was pedaling the 10-speed thru my neighborhood tonight around 8:30 PM, so it was getting darker than it should've been for a lightless-bike to be out, but I live on the edge that way. Saw something I remembered seeing in the early spring this year: a mercedes sedan parked on a quiet side-street in a line of cars, it's driver-side taillight & front parking light ONLY on. No one around, car locked up tight. I assumed it was some sort of convoluted safety device, a 'Look! My car's parked here in the dark!' sort of thing. Problem with that was that tonight I saw one of their R-minivans doing the same thing... in a residential driveway. Is this indeed a 'safety' fe…

I was at Barnes and Noble tonight...yes, I'm a geek, I know, looking up good cheap restaurants in Europe and looking at car mags...so what else is new? I was looking at Consumer Reports. After about 3 or 4 years, a lot of Mercedes products, like the C-class and the M-class, start racking up a lot of "black dots" (more problems that what is typical) and in some critical categories to boot. I was wondering: "Why the hell would someone pay that kind of money to drive one of these when it isn't it "red dot" land like a Toyota, Honda and now even some GM cars"? I was kind of surprised and it would certainly keep me out of a German car (eat your heart out, Irma Bunt), esp…

Mercedes Miffed at CR Mercedes has the worst record of any automaker with that many models. For a brand that claims to be "engineered like no other car in the world," that is fairly frightening. "They understand the problems and they are fixing some of them, but they have a long way to come," says David Champion, director of automotive testing at Consumers. For its part, a spokesman for Mercedes says that the data in the Consumer Reports rankings "is totally out of sync with what we're seeing in the mainstream research as well as our own customer satisfaction and warranty data." He points to the good marks Mercedes gets for ride, handling, comfort, safety and perfo…

Chinese Smart Car Copy Outrages DaimlerChrysler Chinese company CMEC has begun production of a new two-seat city car that appears for all the world like DaimlerChrysler offshoot Smart's six-year-old Fortwo. And its appearance has DaimlerChrysler executives hopping mad. Even the name of the Chinese car is daringly close to that of the original: Electric City Smart. Smart's original two-seater was christened the City Coupe before adopting the name Fortwo in 2004. Aesthetically, there's not much separating the two cars. Only the door handles, exterior mirrors and fuel tank of the CMEC-produced car display any discernible change from the original Smart design.

TCC Test: 2007 Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec It's no secret that most Americans are less than fond of diesels. Past U.S.-market diesels have been clattery, smoky and painfully slow compared to gas-powered counterparts, and U.S. diesel fuel has been sticky, stinky, harder to find and little (if any) cheaper than gasoline. Unless they've traveled to Europe lately, where quicker, quieter and nearly smokeless modern diesels have become more popular than gas burners due to their higher fuel economy and lower fuel taxes, they've had little reason to change that opinion. Until now. Read "2007 Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec: The world’s cleanest diesel, Benz promises" @ The Car Conn…

Edmunds STUTTGART, Germany — The soon-to-be-launched and much-hyped Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec has reportedly failed to meet emissions criteria in the important states of California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York and Vermont. Mercedes said its E320 CDI was "the cleanest diesel vehicle in the world," but apparently not clean enough for U.S. regulators. Despite their popularity in Europe, diesels have never been commonplace in the United States and have a reputation as a technology for big rigs only. But there's a more ecological explanation for the lukewarm reception. Diesel is actually more harmful to the environment than gasoline because it generates more nitrogen ox…

That is unless you can lower the car's top at the touch of a button and enjoy it all the more, like we did in the 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG. this may be old news for some of you and im sure websites like this exist for every car or product thats out there but its particlarly painful when people pay 70k, 80k, 100+k for a car. almost gut wrenching. one poor bastard had a catastrophic failure of his air suspension whil according to him cruising down the highway trying to pass a SEMI. http://www.mercedes-benz-usa.com/index.php so do you always get what you pay for--or pay for what you get.

Better late than never? By Chris Walton Date posted: 03-30-2006 OK, if you're like us, you're asking, "Doesn't Mercedes-Benz already have one SUV with the M-Class — two if you still count the G-Class?" And if you're concerned about the environment, you might ask, "Does the world really need another SUV?" So why has Mercedes-Benz chosen to build the 2007 GL450, a seven-seat, all-wheel-drive sport-utility powered by a 335-horsepower V8, in this era of SUV bashing? According to its own studies, Mercedes has lost 25 percent of its current M-Class owners to full-size domestic-branded SUVs due to family-size growth. The company also knows that many well-to-do Mercedes-Benz…

Consumers aren't exactly sure what they are: station wagon? SUV? 4X4? While crossovers typically offer the spaciousness of a station wagon, the higher ride height of an SUV, and the 3-row seating of a big SUV or minivan, they lack the sporty image and off-road ability of SUVs, the roominess of minivans, and the traditional family image of the station wagon.
