When Lamborghini introduced the new Urus at the at the Beijing Motor Show last month, we were wondering what would be powering it.

Automotive News had the chance to talk with Maurizio Reggiani, Lamborghini's Development chief about what could lie under the Urus' hood. Reggiani said that Lamborghini hasn't decided on an engine, but a V8 is a strong possibility.

"Such a car needs huge torque at low revolutions rather than high peak power, therefore a V-8 twin-turbo is an interesting possibility," Reggiani said.

The engine that could be used is the 4.2L 450 HP V8 unit Audi uses in their RS models. Lamborghini's version will likely produce somewhere in the range of 600 HP.
