Spying: Is This Dodge Challenger Packing The Hellcat HEMI V8?

A few weeks ago in the rumorpile, we reported that Chrysler was working on a Supercharged HEMI V8, codenamed Hellcat. This new engine is expected to be 6.2L and pack power somewhere between 560 to 640 horsepower. Well, a spy photographer this week got shots of a Challenger mule that is purported to have the Hellcat V8.

Clues that lead us to this belief is a set of larger brakes with bigger calipers and cross-drilled front discs. Second is a different and larger exhaust. Finally, the headlights on the driver's side are missing. This could be due to engineers testing an intake system.

This new engine is rumored to come out in 2014. We'll be keeping a close eye on this.
