  • March sales totaled 26,914 units
  • Tiguan delivered 3,519 units, a 53 percent increase, marking the best March ever for the vehicle.

Herndon, VA — (April 1, 2016) Volkswagen of America, Inc. (VWoA) today reported sales of 26,914 units delivered in March 2016.  The Tiguan produced the best March results on record for the vehicle with 3,519 vehicles delivered, a 53 percent increase over March 2015.

“We are pleased with the continued strong performance of the Tiguan,” said Mark McNabb, chief operating officer, Volkswagen of America. “While overall sales saw a decline for the month, Volkswagen dealers improved in terms of retail business.”

In March, Volkswagen debuted the next member of the Golf family with the U.S. production version of the all-wheel-drive Golf Alltrack. The Golf Alltrack, which goes on sale in the Fall as a 2017 model, is based on the Golf SportWagen and includes 4MOTION® all-wheel drive, body cladding, additional ground clearance, and “Off-Road Mode” which adds hill descent control and optimizes traction control. Deliveries of the Golf family totaled 4,495 vehicles in March.
