Hyundai Motor America Reports Best April Ever

  • Hyundai CUV segment up 21.4 percent

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America announced April sales of 66,107, up 4.4 percent versus the same period in 2013, setting an all-time record April.

"With consumer confidence continuing on an upward swing and the economy improving across the nation, customers appear to have put cars back on their shopping lists," said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of national sales, Hyundai Motor America. "With our award-winning lineup of vehicles, including our recently introduced all-new 2015 Genesis sedan that nabbed top honors -- Car of Texas -- at the Texas Auto Writers Association's Annual Texas Auto Roundup earlier this week, we look forward to the spring selling season."

Three Hyundai vehicles saw sales gains of 30 percent or more: Accent was up of 36 percent, followed closely by both Santa Fe and Sonata, up 30 percent. Sonata Hybrid had its best month ever at 2,055 units, up 8.6 percent for the month. Equus, Hyundai's premium luxury sedan, garnered a 9.2 percent gain over April 2013.
