  1. I hope the production version looks better, which it will. That still has camo on it. It definately looks european, I don't think it'd fly over here.
  2. It accomplished its goal, which is to be the most fuel efficient mass production car. Its replacement will probably be the new Fit with a hybrid powertrain, or something along those lines. It will probably be cheaper too, under 20,000, since Honda is focusing on making their hybrid IMA system even cheaper to produce.

    Civic Hybrid

47mpg is good considering he was probably romping on it because he hated the car so much
  4. That Honda dealer looks more like a parking lot. They probably put that car there because the bright yellow S2000 didn't have enough ground clearance to get over the curb and onto the grass
  5. It's funny how a video of a burning Honda can make some of you guys act like little children again. For all we know, the driver could have been trying to light a cigarette while driving and started the fire.
  6. Be sure to paint it blue and make an A-pillar bracket for it.
  7. Even though the Fit does get good mileage already, if it can get near what the Insight does, how is that a bad thing? Specially since they can use a more compact, cheaper hybrid system (that doesn't need to be designed from the ground up) then what they would have to use in a SUV to make it worth while. A lot of people are estimating only about a 1700-2000 increase for the hybrid version. That makes it incredibly affordable, it might even be the first practical hybrid actually worth buying. Plus they can continue to say they offer the most fuel efficient vehicle available, except now it will be completely practical and possibly less expensive than the Insight was. Let's see. Hybrid SUV that costs $27,000 and gets 36mpg (31 on the frwy), or a hybrid 5 door hatch loaded with features that costs $18,000 and gets 50-55mpg. Which is better? Because everything in the world is so linear...
  8. The Fit hybrid is going to be a big hit, only 1 or 2 years away.
  9. But the exhaust note sounds so cool in the commercials! Is it just the CVT that's making it so slow? Is there a 6MT option?? I suppose the 3300 lb weight doesn't help. I'm sure a 6MT FWD version would put down much better times while weighing less and getting better mileage.
  10. And just to add, the transmission problem is still there, despite the dealer supposedly "fixing" it.
  11. Ah yes! Because that's the only thing wrong with GM's . Don't even get me started on our '04 Sierra. Let's just say, it has had to be towed once and has already had two seperate warranty visits to two different dealers. That's just in the last 3 months. It's only at 20k miles.
  12. 2779 lbs! Wow. I think the car looks great, from the back of the rear door to the front of the window at least. The front and back ends, from looking at that gray one at the top of the page, have very awkward lines and shapes. Maybe it does look better in person, most cars do.
  13. With a 1.8L engine and 6sp Manual trans, I would be very surprised if this isn't a little faster than the Fit (at least in a straight line). Has anybody posted performance times for the car yet?
  14. It is quite ugly. Definately uglier than the Yaris Sedan (although I think the Yaris hatch still takes the prize for ugliest small car). The front 3/4 view looks similar to a Fit, until you get to the front grille and healights, which are just wrong. Where did that grille come from? And the headlights look like they're straight off a last generation Kia. Back looks good though =) It'll be interesting to see the performance numbers.
  15. I got an idea. Paint the battery packs blue, put a NOS sticker on them, and put them where the rear dash area is, so people can see it through the rear windshield. Or maybe underglow neons that illuminate the word Hybrid on the ground next the car. Or... well I think a sticker is the most cost effective way, why all the fancy stuff? I'm just going to tail gate you more if I know you're in a Hybrid (unless it's a Honda of course! ).
  16. I think a large "I'm Better Than You ~Toyota" sticker on the back would accomplish what they're trying to do, and probably save on costs.
  17. Bleh. Good mileage or not, I'd actually rather have a Prius (aside from the exterior appearance). I hate diesels, they're noisy, slow, and stain the exhaust tip/bumper like no other. I didn't know phones wound out that well lol
  18. It doesn't matter if it's a leader It's marketting, they can get away with a lot as long as they word it correctly.
  19. I didn't read the article, but how is this a stupid idea? It might be annoying to you, but it will probably accomplish its goal -which is to give more Tundra exposure to people who are hardcore Domestic truck owners. Many, and I mean many companies do this, it's called sponsorship.
  20. Ah yes! Because absolutely no stats or information have been released on the new CRV, and you're basing your opinion entirely on a one camo'd rear 3/4 shot.
  21. The CL was rather ugly if you ask me. It was larger as well. Your point? The SRT-4 is just a sooped up Neon, just as those cars you mentioned are based on their respective models. Does that mean they aren't fast? No. The RSX Type S and Integra Type R are the fast versions of their base model in a simliar fashion. I like how people here get really defensive and jump to conclusions rather quickly. Did I say any of those cars were bad? Did I say the RSX was better than any of them? No I didn't.
  22. I think I struck a nerve Click me. I like this quote: "I don't drive a Neon, I drive an SRT-4!"
  23. Have you driven all 4 of the cars back to back on and off the track to form your own unbiased (is that possible?) comparison? Anybody can buy a 93 Civic Hatch, drop an Integra Type R engine into it and go faster than these cars stock, but does that make it a good car?
  24. There's already rumors of a TSX coupe, but who knows. The RDX is certainly not its replacement, but that isn't saying the next Acura coupe (other than an NSX) won't get a similar engine, or one tuned for high end HP. Too bad the SRT-4 was still based on a Neon, and looked the part. Just a sooped up Neon.
