  1. 1. The CEO said there is a possibly of the Diesel V6 finding its way into the MDX, but that is all. I highly doubt they would put it in a sedan, Honda or Acura. 2. Nothing has been announced yet. Where did he get this info? 6. NSX will have a V-10, that was announced over a year ago. It will probably displace around 4.5L and put out around 550hp (although the size/power are just rumors from Japanese mags).
  2. I will bet that the next Ridgeline offers a Diesel V6, and not a V8.
  3. The head of American R&D is pushing for V8's in some Acura models, since it is obviously needed in order for Acura to compete in the upper price bracket. However nothing is official, the CEO hasn't given the go ahead, this is just a speculation. Notice the title "Acura may be ready for a V8". Even if the next RL/MDX have a 4.0L-4.5L V8, and the next NSX has a 4.5L V10, Honda will still undoubtedly have the best CAFE rating among larger manufacturers. So saying they will suddenly cease to be an environmental company and start cashing in on V8's, is a bad exaggeration. Have they? I think you're confusing Honda with Toyota :AH-HA_wink: They do. Except it's only 2.4L and makes over 700hp.

    Oh No, ASIMO!

It fell once, but it can still outrun and out-slalom a Pontiac!

    Acura RDX

Dude, didn't you already post a link to that same comparison a while back? Sure if you are heavy footed with a turbocharged vehicle you're going to get poor mileage. Turbo's drink up the gasoline when you're driving around WOT in boost all the time like the editor's undoubtedly were. Edit: Oh, I'm sorry, it was Variance who posted it 3 months ago here.

    Oh No, ASIMO!

This video is from a pre-2004 model. Funny how it just popped up now.
  7. I'll pass. Although the 4WD system sounds nifty!
  8. Because Lincoln is just a Ford with a giant chrome grille? It seems like while Acura is trying to move upscale, Lincoln is going the opposite direction.
  9. All Acura's, with the exception of maybe the TSX, are moving to AWD (and I wouldn't be surprised at all if the TSX will be AWD too). All Honda cars (with the exception of sports cars) will remain FWD since they are, after all, economy cars. FWD has a lot of advantages over RWD in that area and I'm sure you know that, you're just being sarcastic.
  10. Gas-guzzling V8? We're not talking about a big 6.0L V8 in a giant SUV. Chances are this V8 will displace around 4.0-4.5L, and have a bunch of new-fangled technologies to make it very efficient (like a-Vtec with continuously variable valve lift and timing control). Too little too late for the company that has had 10 consecutive years of record sales and what looks to be an 11th year soon (they're already at a 3.6% increase from last year at this time, only one month to go)? No Honda's will receive a V8, this is just for a couple of the Acura's (I'm guessing FMC RL first, then maybe the MDX). ?? Where does it say this?
  11. Looks like they blew it, maybe went a little too far over the edge, then tried to catch themselves at the last minute and make it more sensible looking. The result, a nice looking Evo trim no doubt, but a base model that doesn't know what it wants to be and has styling elements all over the place that don't match in the slightest. The funny thing is it wouldn't take a whole lot of reforming to make it into a very nice looking Volvo IS250.
  12. That's pretty good, you should sent that to them, it's more fitting.
  13. Scion is very baffling. I suppose all those xA buyers moved up to xC's once their A's fell apart? You would think the majority of new Scion buyers would move up to Toyota eventually, or wasn't that Toyota's plan? Since Scion doesn't really have anything bigger/more expensive to offer their buyers. Or maybe Toyota convinced J.D. Power to count buyers who went from Scion to Toyota as a positive retention rate?
  14. The Mazda 2.3L Turbo has big peak numbers with an absolutely horrible powerband, yet it gets on the list? It makes you wonder how they rate their engines.
  15. Spy video and some comments on the Lexus IS-F 500 here.
  16. I'm just saying based off of C&D's previous comparison test, there was no reason for them not to pick the Fit.
  17. Lights trucks, as in all the SUV's and the Ridgeline.
  18. I don't know if Toyota should be banking on their F1 experience given their recent 2006 performance. Renault 206 Ferrari 201 McLaren-Mercedes 110 Honda 86 Sauber-BMW 36 Toyota 35 RBR-Ferrari 16 Williams-Cosworth 11 STR-Cosworth 1
  19. You are all wrong btw, the new car will be called: Lexus IS500 Type F-spec beta5 Release 3.0b Windows XP TRD SHAWD is a very good name for what the system does. It makes large sedans/SUV's handle superbly. :AH-HA_wink:
  20. 33k :AH-HA_wink: Although the fact that you can lease a more expensive BMW for less per month sucks.
  21. That's one way of looking at it :AH-HA_wink:
  22. Except Toyota is buying into the Diesel technology. Toyota may not come out too far behind or behind at all with Isuzu's help.
  23. If you read Car & Driver's comparison test, the Fit was an obvious choice for its class. But I guess Honda paid off the C&D editors and that's the only reason the Fit won, right? Except the Fit is the fastest of its class, with the nimblest handling. Is the Fit slow compared to a mid-size with a V6? Yes. Is it slow compared to the Aveo and Versa? No.
