    McCain's trend

Well, it could be much worse.
  2. The Civic Si is 6MT-only as well as the S2000. Everything else is either 5AT only or offers 5AT, 5MT, or 6MT. Then of course there are the CVT models, such as the Civic hybrid. The new NSX is supposed to have a dual-clutch transmission as well. Just rumors at this point though.
  3. Most manufacturers outsource their transmissions, especially their 6-speed auto's. Honda builds its own 5-speed auto, and likely is currently working on a 6-speed auto in-house. They save money, especially in the long run when R&D costs are paid for, by building their own transmission, but they will probably want to get as much time out of the 5-speed as they can.

    McCain's trend

Obama rebuked McCain when he accused him of wanting to just invade Pakistan, although I don't recall it exactly. I thought Obama came off much better composed and with a more defined plan of action than McCain, especially on the economic issues. I excepted him to do a lot more "uh uh uh", but surprisingly there was relatively little of it.

    McCain's trend

That was a great debate. Polls seem to indicate Obama did a better job, but who really cares? A few things I noticed; McCain didn't look at or address Obama once, and talked directly at Lehrer the entire time. Obama seemed more comfortable talking, and naturally looked between McCain, Lehrer and the TV camera throughout the debate. Obama addressed McCain directly a number of times, did McCain address and look at Obama at all? Obama mentioned McCain "was right" 5 times, which has already been paraded around by the Republicans and is surely to find its way into tomorrow's TV ads. Conversely, Obama said firmly several times "that is wrong" to something McCain said about him. McCain tended to say "I think he's confused" about things Obama said about him, but wasn't as firm and seemed a little bit less involved in the debate. Maybe it's because he's more concerned about getting back to DC and "fixing" everything. Obama interjected more often while McCain was talking than vice versa. This might be partly because McCain tends to ramble on, while Obama was more concise in his points. This is actually the opposite of what I thought was going to happen. Obama did seem better prepared for the debate. McCain's arms are still distracting. Your guy's thoughts?
  6. I certainly hope this is just semantics, and the EPA's tests aren't being developed with the goal of giving the Volt a 100-mpg rating. Because that is ass backwards. I have a good test. Ignore the battery, and just test the miles per gallon of gasoline with the gasoline engine charging the battery and running the vehicle. Last time I checked you can't divide by zero anyway. Then, they can say this is the real miles per gallon it gets when running off the gasoline engine, but it can run up to 40 miles on electric only. That is, IMO, the only logical way to do it. Of course logic and politics never agree, and politics usually wins. Let's do some math here. The Volt gets 100 miles to the gallon, and has a 12 gallon tank. Its range is approximately 350 miles, plus 40 miles from the electric motor. 390 / 12 = 100?? Really?

    McCain's trend

I'm not trying to argue any specific point such as trade policies. And it certainly wouldn't be a big reason to vote one over the other, just one thing to consider, and it may not even be true, but I am thinking it is.

    McCain's trend

Consider that our relations with our allies in Europe and around the world will likely improve the moment we elect Obama, and we may have an easier time negotiating trade deals and requesting their help in foreign matters because of it. I have a feeling electing McCain will be sort of equivalent to not only giving the rest of the world the finger, but making them all think we're a bunch of dummies that don't learn from the past and are willing to continue on our current path. That being said, I am really excited for tonight, and am very glad McCain chose to go through with the debate. I really didn't want to sit there and watch Obama answer questions, we've already seen plenty of that.

    McCain's trend

“My strong sense is that the best thing that I can do, rather than to inject presidential politics into some delicate negotiations, is to go down to Mississippi and explain to the American people what is going on and my vision for leading the country over the next four years,” Mr. Obama told reporters aboard his plane. “I’m looking forward to the debate and look forward after the debate to coming back to Washington and hopefully getting a package done.” (link) I sincerely hope both candidates refrain from taking shots at each other, and explain their plan's for going forward.

Let it crash. Our economy is based on citizens, not the government. We decide what is fair and what isn't. Let natural selection take its course. People who were dumb should be held accountable and not rescued.
  11. Which may work to the TL and G37's favor, as they are considerably less than the German competition. The 305HP TL beating the 300HP 335i and 335xi around the track is pretty incredible, given that the TL is a larger and heavier car with less torque. Now that Acura has FINALLY mated the 6-speed manual gearbox to SH-AWD, I can't wait to see what they do with the '10 TSX. There are images and an article floating around about the TSX, showing the underside and how there is room purposefully left for rear driveshafts and differential, and a gas tank designed to accept a prop shaft. Honda reps have commented that there is room for a V6 under the hood as well, although they are keeping their mouth shut otherwise. 280HP AWD TSX with 6-speed manual, around 3800~ lbs. <-my next car
  12. The comparison needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Around when this new TL comes out, the G37 will be coming out, and the S4 will be receiving a different engine (turbo V6 as opposed to N/A V8).

It's just politics, stop being so blinded and try to gain a clear and unbiased perspective on things.

Regardless of who would potentially be better at a debate about foreign policy, that is the lamest cop out I've heard yet.

I don't think that just because Obama isn't putting his campaign on hold, means he isn't contributing to (solving) this problem just as much as McCain.

    McCain's trend

I shouldn't say nonconservative, but "radical". He wants to drastically reduce the size and scope of the government. While that is a politically conservative idea, it is still not "conservative" in the dictionary sense of the word. I think his ideas seem smart but people are afraid of drastic change.
  18. I am at a loss for words right now. I'm not quite sure what to make of something such as this. I do know that the rear view looks ridiculous with the oddly styled bumper.

    McCain's trend

Viewing each candidates spiels on the "economy" issue, and it seems to me Obama/Biden at least have a fairly specific plan. McCain's is mostly generic and vague, he doesn't use very many figures or specifics. Maybe McCain not knowing much about economics would end up being a good thing, he might not try to fix things so much and it will end up fixing itself.

RP seems to be a very good economist. It's refreshing to hear a politician speak so directly and have so much knowledge. I hear he has some pretty nonconservative ideas though, and seems very opinionated.

Yes, thread hijacked! j/k lol I can build a gaming desktop for around $700 (complete box, no keyboard/mouse/monitor) that will play Crysis on near-maxed graphics settings at 1280x1024 or 1680x1050. High quality parts too. McCain probably doesn't play computer games, but I bet Obama does, so he gets my vote. And that is the only thing I am basing my vote on. I bet I could still take him down in a deathmatch though. Edit: In all seriousness, and speaking of technology, Obama is undoubtedly more tech-savvy than McCain. I want a president who is "with it" when it comes to the latest technology. Whether that means the ability to use a smart phone, or the speed at which they can get and respond to emails, I think it is very important. Think about it. The president has to make a decision on some new environmental technology. If he has no clue what it is, he may rely on his advisers entirely to make his decision. If he is tech savvy, he may have a bit more insight into it, or even know a lot about it. I'm not saying Obama is a nerd or anything, cause if he was, there would have been no indecision on my part.
