  1. At least he didn't buy a H1.
  2. How did that line from Deliverance go? "Sometimes you have to lose yourself before you can find anything ..."
  3. Indeed, the bezels are painted over.
  4. A what anniversary Camry? I'm confused. Yeah, maybe Toyota itself has been in the U.S. market for fifty years, but not the Camry. Toyota execs must have access to some potent stuff to think of an extra badge so asinine and misleading. Then again, given the IQ level of some of the "people" in this country, they'll probably buy into the Camry being a storied, historic nameplate that has been around in this country for fifty years plus, like the Impala or Corvette. Which is exactly what 'Yoter wants. Because, when you boil it down, who outside of a true automotive enthusiast in this country knows what Toyota was selling when it first came here? That's what I thought. Can we evacuate the few examples of intelligent life in California out of the state so we could make room for all of the idiots in the rest of the country to move in when it sinks into San Fransisco bay? I'd really like to know if an idiot can swim.
  5. Before PCS gets to it, the old kid from Kentucky bids two dollars.
  6. Amazing work. There is a sort of harrowing quality to these photographs. You are seeing a once mighty city that is now no more than a former shell of itself. The fourth image in the set illustrates it so well; it almost makes you think of the ruins of Chernobyl/Pripyat, Ukraine rather than a landmark city in America.
  7. (f@#king) sucks
  8. No doubt it will soon be a collector's item, but this era Toronado is the most ungainly one ever built. It's like a 70 year old with a t-square went wild after guzzling a vat of Metamucil and Geritol.
  9. Yes, do the brake job first. You don't want to wind up like I did over the course of two days with the Firebird; car broken down in your own driveway, replacing the pads, caliper, and rotor in the pouring rain ...
  10. There's one specific reason as to why I like it better and it's the 305 H.O. The aftermarket support for it is pretty decent and I plan on making that engine crank out more than 180 horses. If I can get to 250, that would be great. The Firebird's V6 didn't have a whole lot when it came to aftermarket performance parts. It was basically headers, exhaust, and a cold air/ram air intake system and that was it. Maybe someday if I can find some plood trim pieces that are in better shape than mine, I'll reinstall them for car shows, just to see someone's disappointed face when they come to the conclusion its a clone when it really isn't. I have to say, it makes the front of car appear more smooth and modern. I know that if I plan to go through on the conversion, I'm going to have to pick up a new set of headlight buckets to save my original ones. There's a piece of the bucket that has to be removed in order for the headlights to work. Thanks again Cort. And yes you do. If I should ever have an Aerocoupe come my way again, I'll let you know. Oh, and then there's this ... http://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/1300243040.html It's something I will most definitely consider. Hopefully, whichever shop I choose to paint my car could also do this as well.
  11. Well look'it thur. I found the scissors they used to cut NOS's balls off. Just kidding. Congratulations on the new Neon, NOS. I would suggest an SRT conversion ASAP for it, though. I never could stand the cheeky grin of the base and R/T models.
  12. Try a nasty, disgusting meat pie. It also looks like someone's ass with a violent case of acne and third degree burns that were put out with an old shop towel.
  13. Thank ya Cort. It would be pretty cool if you did know the original owner. I'd really love to know the car's actual mileage. I've got pics of the Monte on here and on MonteCarloSS.com if you want to check 'er out.
  14. The third image in the set is my favorite. So, what's the deal with this BV? Are you going to college to become a photographer?
  15. Glenn - Slint *thinks of BB covering Tool*
  16. mutt
  17. If you notice, they did damage the upper portion of the doors and possibly the roof when they raised it up like that.
  18. Americans are fat. Americans are stupid. Americans are lazy. amidoinitright? (I do agree with Satty, ftr.)
  19. Stick it in your pie hole.
  20. Does it cost much? Also, I'm on the lookout for a new temperature gauge. While removing the gauges to replace and upgrade the horrible backlighting, one of the needles broke off and I don't know exactly how, either. It was intact when I removed it and sat it down, but later, when I picked it up to move it, it was broken off.
  21. Most stores in the U.S. have a mild form of "skylight-lighting" so why in the hell were they bragging about that?
  22. Eleven bucks an hour? Ha! I worked there from February to May of this year and only made $7.20 an hour, a nickel below minimum wage. I'm lucky that I earned what money I did while I worked at the location in Richmond. I know having a Wal-Mart in Berea has pulled a few pins the holding smaller businesses here together completely out and thrown them aside. Superior Food Market shut down, was reopened by IGA, shut down again, and was reopened by a local owner who worked there as a teenager, only to struggle and be shut down for the last time. HFH opened a Re-Store (its like a Goodwill) in its place. The store just couldn't compete with Wal-Mart's prices and loyal customers wound up driving a few miles to the other side of town to shop cheaper. Bait shops have shut down as well because of Wal-Mart's sporting goods department. There's no hope for an alternative when Wal-Mart shows up to a small town. Local businesses are smothered to death before they eventually close their doors for good. Competitors only come to larger cities and they still have to put up a fierce fight to withstand Wal-Mart's corporate funk. I know I had plenty of co-workers eagerly awaiting Meijer's debut in Richmond, hoping that it would put a stranglehold on the store. I was, and still am, one of those people. But I also know better. It will take a devastating blow to the U.S. economy to see Wal-Mart rupture and go down, at least from a consumer standpoint.
  23. I'm not a fan of white by choice, more so by fate (the Sonoma and Firebird were white and the Monte is white; also, the Cutlass was pearl white before it was repainted). That said, this car looks great in white and the black SS stripes add the needed contrast to make the design really "pop."
  24. Yeah, I should have been more clear on what I was saying. Sorry about that. I was just using the F-Body as an example of a "hatchback coupe," not necessarily meaning the F-Body and the Astra 3-door coupe are in the same size class. That's exactly what I was thinking. An Astra coupe along the lines of the CRX or the Scirocco/Corrado.
  25. Congratulations on the new 'Bu, balt. As far as mainstream sedans go, you picked the winner.
