  1. All the stuff above - yep. The stuff below I don't get - maybe some American stuff in here? I've never heard of Oregon Trail day or Arbor Day.* You got excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school. * Two words... Trapper Keeper. * You know what a "Gak Attack" is and had a can of your own * Your parents made you wear acid washed jeans and flourescent oversized shirts * You remember the "blue jean pencils" they gave out on Arbor Day
  2. Fixed.Fuel Cells are much more efficient, and should last longer than an internal combustion engine. Don't bust GM's balls for going out on a limb for once. I think they're right this time.
  3. I like the bumper-mounted lights. Ford certainly liked the headlights.
  4. This is interesting too - wasn't Ford's initial promise to build a "sub $1000 car"? "What cost $1000 in 1900 would cost $22155.60 in 2005."
  5. According to the inflation calculator: What cost $28895 in 1995 would cost $35950.29 in 2005. So, your Millenia was more expensive, by quite a bit actually.
  6. Futuristic? It looks like a first-gen Trans Sport and a Grand Prix with a front light bar made some dirty drunken love. The current FCX looks more futuristic than this. I applaud their fuel cell efforts, but this design is AWFUL.
  7. If it is as clean as gasoline, there will no longer be a compelling reason to choose gasoline cars... Interesting. I applaud Honda.
  8. I can see how I'm a combination of my parents in a lot of ways - not just my father. My father's an Optometrist with a History degree. My mother's an office manager for his office, and she also has a Geography degree with Teacher's college. I considered both Optometry and teaching for a time. I still consider teaching sometimes. When I get bored with programming, I'll probably go off and teach high school physics and math. As far as the History and Geography degrees go, I love trying to figure out "how things used to be". Abandoned roads facinate me. The layouts of old farming land grands from when England was founding Canada, and the concessions they left behind make me stare at maps for hours. One of the only times you will hear me long for something that's not fuel efficient is that I want a Jeep. I'd love to be able to drive down some of the really overgrown abandoned roads I've found (like Martin Road in Ancaster). Old houses which have been renovated also fascinate me. My parents both have bad tempers that rarely come out. So do I. All three of us can channel it however, and take it out on inanimate objects rather than people. I've broken a few doors, I've seen my mother throw a glass across the kitchen, and my father's broken tools and computer components. My political beliefs are very similar to theirs. I even like a lot of their music. Our differences are mostly due to the different times we grew up in. I like more modern music, including types they wouldn't have been exposed to. I mountain bike, which is also something they wouldn't have been exposed to. They are active however - they both run marathons! I'm pretty sure my dad is actually more fit than me, heh. He can't quite qualify for the Boston Marathon, but he's been close a couple of times now. His age category (50-60) is incredibly competitive!
  9. Peugeot 405. I had no idea that they sold any French cars in the US that recently...
  10. I want to say the Maserati Biturbo - but that was RWD.
  11. Link doesn't work, and picture doesn't show...
  12. Out of all the bulls### that this thread has made me look at, I like the gauge treatment Fly posted.
  13. Nice! Though... I don't think BV would be caught dead in a Beetle. ...not that he should really be in anybody's angry mob either!
  14. Wildman, not the one I would have expected to go after my interior design. There are some um... interesting colour choices in here. The guy I bought this place from was gay, and one colour in particular was a little too, um, flamboyant for me. In this photo you'll see the green that I painted the front hallway, and behind where the closet door closes, the square of purple that I missed painting. When I first bought it, it looked like Barney the Dinosaur exploded in my hallway. I like the gold in the living room, it's a fun colour and I think I got some artwork that works with it... This brings me to the "busted wall". The previous owner took out part of a wall to let more light into the living room. He tried to be "artistic" however, and finished the edge of the wall all bumpy. Not jagged or dangerous or anything - just... odd. Take a look. The bedroom's another interesting colour, but again, I like this one.. The kitchen is the only thing that really needs some help. Dark green counters, neon yellow cupboards and red floors. It's a little much: Anybody have any advice for the kitchen? I want to do tile for the floor (it's just painted concrete right now), and maybe get a new countertop and paint the cupboards. Colour suggestions?
  15. OK. Is everybody ready for the "no carpet pics"? There's even some pictures of wood! ...really Living room, hardwood. Kitchen, unfinished - I'm going to tile it. Bedroom, same hardwood. Front hall, and bathroom, two different tiles. Now... why do I get the feeling there's an angry gay mob about to drive up here tonight, hold me down and check for the kind of carpet they thought I was talking about? You're all such dirty buggers.
  16. yeah, yeah... I didn't have time last night, cause I'm working a lot of overtime lately (I'm at work now, and shouldn't be on here, tsk, tsk)... I'll post them tonight.
  17. Recipe for a Hyundai Take one part Mercedes A-Class Foglights from a new Lexus IS Side profile from a Nissan Murano Taillights from a Volvo Take random 90's headlights for inspiration. ..what, that's not original enough? Let's just give it a really wierd name...
  18. Hush.ai sells software to secure your computer. They probably hack to spread their name, to try to sell their product.
  19. If you expected to be disappointed, then you wouldn't be disappointed... ... I mean, you can't expect to be disappointed. It's a bit of a paradox.
  20. Guy I was un school with chewed tobacco. So gross! I tried it once just out of curiosity. Interesting feeling, but I could never put up with having to carry around a bottle to spit in. He was holding his spit bottle one day when another guy pushed him, horsing around. The spit bottle ended up getting dumped all over the pusher's girlfriend. She was covered in smelly brown spit and definately NOT impressed.
  21. I'll take some tonight and post them for everyone. :AH-HA_wink:
  22. Ontario introduced this new "Drive Clean" program... then as soon as they got enough clunkers off the road, and brought enough income to the shops in Ontario, it got cancelled.
  23. I'm supporting whatever keeps the sanity around here. Censorship? Bah... it's part of being on an internet board.
  24. Even as an extreme Canadian Liberal, I agree with the above. So much for Canada being more Liberal than the US. I am more Lib than most of Canada, and I still think Cali is being silly here.
