  1. Thanks Great Info! Thanks for posting.
  2. So no mechanic work HMMM. Are they doing body kits?
  3. Losing Rick will damage much more than help GM. There are a lot of thing that need to change but Rick is not one of them. It is foolish to think other wise. A lot of good things are in place at GM just time is very tight and every setback makes it tighter. I hope Evok is not upset is I agree with him 100% here.
  4. The paddles on my GP are great on a curving mountain road and a lot of fun. They are also great for engine braking. On the other hand around town they are a waste. With only 4 gears and as widly spaced as they are there is not much excitment. On a six speed I could see more value. After living with them for 2 yerars they are fun in the right enviroment but I could live with out them easily. I also like the way they have the Vette paddles set up on the back of the wheel fro down shift. I wish you could up shift too with them. The GP could be a reach if you have short tumbs or small hands. My wife can't reach them well.
  5. I remember it in the show car now. I even have a Comp G and never really thought about the change. I am glad you found it as I knew I had seen it but unsure where.
  6. The first G6 i got in had one and I though how long till it breaks and how soon till it rattles. Pontiac can always change it to a canvas roof like GM used on the second gen Nova's. They are rare today since they all leaked and rotted the floors out. Anyway the G6 roof looked like a neat idea that should have been passed up like the folding roof on the Regal a few years back. The roof would be easy to fix by just deleating the option next year.
  7. The new High Performance Pontiac just came out with a good technical story on the GXP. They have a lot of engine details. They still had not done a driving review but I expect GM will have those in the magazines about the time the weather breaks.
  8. Jimmy is a child Genius in a cartoon. Happy not the slam you though? I would post something to make you look like foolish but I don't work that way. Besides your post speak volumes. By the way I sure Brian would not agree with you on that being rude and attacking people personaly is not how it works here!
  9. This is a place to share ideas, speculate and have fun! Not a place to just do personel attacks on another posters just because you don't agree. If you have an idea present it and let other have their own opinion!
  10. Just the chrome around the ac vents is a big help alone. I already was looking to upgrade my 04 to some of the 06 trim peices.
  11. Hmmm.... this where on of our resident Jimmy Neutrons comes in and tells all of us it just does not work that way?
  12. This is good but not enough! GM and Ford need to hit CR in the press with cold hard facts on how they twist the truth. As of now the pro 4n media and owners will just call it sour grapes and get away with it. Again! If GM I would have a investigation done independently and present them to the consumers in their own advertising.
  13. I think a Camaro followed up by the Impala will be a great 1-2 punch. The heritage of these two car is something Japan can build. They have for years tried to buid a better Harley but don't understand it is might run better and sound like it but it still ain't a Harley. NSX and Ferarri they same thing still not a Ferarri. For such a traditional minded country they never have grasped Heritage and history in cars or bikes in the states.
  14. They want to do it but it all comes down to economics. If they can do it and make enough money on it I could see it happen. But on the other hand just making money is not enough anymore. The question is will it be more profitable than another product line? I also know Ford has pondered the Rancharo idea too. If they move to bring it back GM may react?? I would be in the market as I still miss my 1972 GMC SPrint SP 402. But I understand GM needs to pay the bills with the highest profit cars they can right now. If the exchange rate gets right GM could fill the ships taking new GTO's and Camaro's to OZ and bring back El Camaino's Nice idea in a perfect world.
  15. I have paddles in my GTP Comp G. They are not something I have to have and around town are really a waste. But have been a lot fun to drive in the mountains and winding roads! The big problem on the GP is it only has 4 gears and a long time between shifts much of the time. I think the Vette with six gears and wide power band could be a lot of fun over a standard automatic. As for the floor or wheel to shift. The wheel is the only way to go once you get used to it.
  16. when you watch this show note on the CTS M1 has the strange flaired wheel wells that keep shoing up on the mule pictures. I also noted the new picture od the CTS in Popuar mech. has the same fender flairs. Don't know if there is anything to the flairs but they keep showing up? Not sure what was done to the engine but the race car is claimed to have a production base engien too so It may have been just a modified stock engine nothing way out their. If I recall they hae to watch what is done on the CTS R as SCCA has given them trouble before and add weight if they run too good. I do love the name M1 it is a smack in the face of BMW and is the name of Woodward ave. Michigan 1. I hope they use it in the future. It is also interesting they keep bringing the V16 up just so it is not forgotten. Most engine not yet set for production like it are often in a back room waiting to get crushed a year later.
  17. Sorry I did not get all the details, but I saw on Autoblog.com. Thje SVT division is getting the plug pulled. I wonder where this will go for Fords performance future? The Ford GT dies in 07 and little has been said about a replacment. Also Ford really has said little on performance models outside the Shelby. Will they farm them out to an outside companies to develope and save money? Much of the Ford GT was done by Roush and Salaeen.
  18. There will be a long wheel base and short wheel base Zeta's. I wonder if that is where they seperate where the cars are built?
  19. Please don't get overly retro upset here. The Impala from my best clues will be much like the Camaro, a new design but cue's from the past. This is not a Challanger where it already looks old. I have seen both the Camaro and Challanger in person. Before ypu praise one and condem one you need to see them in person. Todays car design is so lame it is out of hand. If Chevy can deliver a reliable RWD car that is in the price range of a Camary. and Make it cool to own. they will have a hit. People are getting tired of the plain cars to the point of buying Sion toasters. Chevys home run would be a Impala that is Camary reliable and afordable but look good enough you would hang a poster of it up in the Garage. The key is to update the new cars more often and keep them trendy. That was the key from the 60's as each year had a lot to offer over the past year. I hate full on retro, but after seeing thre new Camaro it was done right. It is a new car and not a clone but when you see it you know it is a Camaro. Can you say the same on the new Impala for 06? It is a nice car buy has no soul! A great design is one that makes you feel it inside when you look at it. Also in a crowd it will draw attention and envy. From what I have heard If ypu like the Camaro you will love the new Impala. On the other note boot the Sting Ray Chevy has better things to build like a Nomad like Mini.
  20. You can't see it real well but the car has the following. Larger airdam Rear defuser Different style wheels in stock 17" size I believe the dise skirts are stock The silver one I saw had chrome around the AC vents and the door handle trim. Over all for the money you can do better in the after market.
  21. I am guessing the sedan is the new Impala as I have heard it is going to be a home run just as the Camaro has been. Not sure of the details but it is a lot new but a little retro just as the Camaro is.
  22. I saw one of these GP's in person. I too thought the wheels looked small but they are GTP 17" size. For the money I would rather keep my Comp G with the 5 spoke wheels and spo spoiler. The kit and wheels they addered was around $1200 and not as nice in persone as in photo's. Thought it does look better in black. In all I was disappointed in the new FX package. Choice of wheels make a bigger differance on a GP than anything.
  23. Well I think you will find out soon enough that there are many things going on in the land of OZ and we will soon see the fruits of ther labors. Also even someone as high up as B Lutz would not stick his neck so far out to say that the RWD GTO , Camaro, Impala, Monte Carlo and Buick Statesman are all coming in the neart future and then have the press or internet find he was not being truthfull. Just think what Wall Street would do to GM for such a statemet if proven false. Lutz would not let everything in his lifetime of work in the auto field all come down to being remebered for making such a false statement. Just too little to gain and too much too lose.
  24. I assume the note here was posted before you read the Autoweek story??? I Think Lutz is a reliable person for info on the GTO? On the Camaro I had posted Fbodfathers post from Camaroz28.com. He flat stated not to beleive the press and that Edmunds even has the wrong engines listed. Seeing that Fbodfather is involved with the Camaro in several areas and was the past marketing manager for the Camaro he should know what he speaks of here. Much can be learned by visiting the Camaro site and looking up Fbodfathers post. He may hint a lot but it adds up in time and you will be the first to know. Keep your eyes open as Real GM people are around and will leak some info from time to time. In the end the Zeta is alive, the Camaro and GTO are on the way. Only a unforseen economic development can stop it at this point. 2008 will be a very good year to go car shoping.
