2019 Chevy Silverado 2.7-liter, 4-cylinder hits 23 mpg
Drew Dowdell replied to ccap41's topic in Chevrolet
The new 1500 is about an inch taller than the outgoing 1500. (from memory) They made the hood taller so they could shorten hood length to increase cab size without an impact to the overall length. Basically, they stretched the truck upwards in an effort to give more passenger and cargo room without making the truck longer. -

These Subscription services are still too expensive. I imagine they're trying to turn a profit on reselling insurance and that is one thing that is driving up costs. The only good thing I see about this is the ability to "unsubscribe" almost any time you want after the first year... but I would be swapping out the car as many times as I was allowed just beacuse I'm allowed. What I don't get is why the manufacturers want to get into the insurance business. Getting out of their core comfort zones usually leads to poor results.

Pick your first and second runners-up. I'm going to do all of them, I just want to know which ones I should do first.

Not by GM. I think some 3d party did.

cadillac xt4 Cadillac XT4 Tech Talk - Is any of the items a concern?
Drew Dowdell replied to G. David Felt's topic in Cadillac
I wonder when we're going to start seeing things like carbon fiber valvetrains. -
So don't buy one if you don't want it. Personally, would have preferred they did the JGC first.

Ford is already selling all the F-150s in the US they can build. Maybe GM, with their falling truck sales numbers, should give it a go in the UK.... oh, no wait... they mostly pulled out of Europe except for Corvette and Cadillac.

I'm not surprised about the Cascada. It seemed like a one and done from the start and the only reason it was brought here was that it was on a Federalized platform and there was extra room on the boat coming over. The interior, while decent, was the very last of that generation of Buick/Opel interior to be released before they started doing the nicer ones we see today.

2019 Chevy Silverado 2.7-liter, 4-cylinder hits 23 mpg

I think GM is just trying to prove that a 4-cylinder pickup could sell. Still, I'd rather have a 6 even if it is a smaller turbo one like the Ford 2.7T. -
I've recently tried out a bunch of cars. Here is the list. I want to know if there are any, in particular, you think I should focus on. If you could pick your top 3. GMC Terrain Denali, Chevy Cruze RS Red-line, CT6 Platinum SuperCruise, Infiniti QX80, Chevy Camaro Convertible, '19 Jetta, '19 Subaru Ascent, 19 Infiniti QX50, '19 Altima AWD, '19 M-B CLS 450 Designo, Mazda Miata The following were off-road only - Wrangler, GMC Sierra AT4, Ram Rebel I have a new Avalon Limited that a client just bought who will let me test it also.

I love the new Lincoln names. I'm actually interested to see what they re-name the MKC into. I imagine the MKZ is probably dead as a doornail, but going back to Zephyr would be fine with me if it stuck around. I wonder if Lincoln could partner with someone who isn't giving up on sedans to make a replacement.... a heavily reworked Mazda 6 might not be bad and Mazda has no problem building cars for other brands.

You're right, that was a typo on my part. I imagine it would be easier if models had names instead of scrabble letters.

Around $32k and relatively similar interior sizes, they're all competition.

Differences of a couple inches do not a whole new segment make. It's price first and then a GENERAL size class.

No... exactly wrong. There are price classes AND size classes... usually, a vehicle has to be close in both to get consideration. The GLA and XT4 are the competitors for each other. They compete in price and they're close enough in INTERIOR space that they compete there too..... it's just that the Cadillac wins there that gets you bent out of shape... because the Cadillac is the better car for the price.

@smk4565 The competition has mostly moved up in price (except the 3-series which has decontented to stay cheaper). Cars broken into price class first and size class second. You don't see people comparing a Sonic 5-door to a Bentley coupe just because they're both EPA Sub-Compacts. An Impala and a CLA can both be had at $30k but size is secondary to price.... people who want space go with the Impala. Same with the CLA and ATS. People who want a smaller sporty sedan in the $30k - $40k range can look at the smaller CLA or the larger ATS. The C-Class is out of reach and so is the Bentley.

Drew Dowdell replied to William Maley's topic in Jeep
This is a really great lil package with all that equipment. I remain unconvinced by these tiny displacement turbo engines. -
