They stole my idea!!! I want to see one of the new GMCs with that scheme. IF I get a truck, I'd want to do a black stripe down the side like my dad's. @Intrepidation did this photoshop for me. That last bit was true until Congress removed more than a few of the safeguards back in the spring.

Toyota News: Toyota Double Downs Investment On Hydrogen
Drew Dowdell replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
Fuel cells make great sense for city dwellers, small delivery vehicles, taxis, and other livery. You can have a hydrogen generator in your garage and hydrogen can be generated from renewable sources, so its efficiency is less of a concern. -

Interesting idea. Well, as long as it helps keep the XJ in production. However, I do worry about the blending of the two brands. Some of the latest LR SUVs are pretty close to the new Jaguar SUVs in terms of look and feel.- 11 replies

It's a shame that the death of the planet is now such old news that I don't even hear about stories like the wild fires until someone posts a car related thing on C&G

The big auto shows are substantially different than the regional ones. I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland is 1/4 the cost of Detroit. It's not the regional auto shows that he's complaining about... it's the big media shows like Detroit, LA, NYC, Frankfurt, etc.

You're making excuses. You're saying Toyota has a theme except when they don't have a theme. It's okay for Toyota but not for Buick? And for Buick the theme is "attainable luxury".

There are no warmed-over Chevys. The Impala isn't even on the same generation platform as the Lacrosse. The Enclave shares a platform with the Traverse, but it is its own vehicle with unique sheet metal. Everyone is a mix of product, including Subaru. Toyota has American Camries, Mazda built Yarii, Japanese built Subaru, and a Corolla Hatch designed for Europe, built in Japan, and imported to the US.

It looks it, but sitting inside one is a bit let down by the more entry-level switchgear feel. It is class appropriate, but it isn't the same class as the A-Class. The Verano still has plastic buttons just like the A-Class (or E-class for that matter), but MB has put a more... resolute.. feel into them. Even if there is not one iota more sturdiness to them, they feel like they are. And to be clear. I'm not implying that the Verano and A-Class compete. I'm just saying that Buick was too quick to kill their small sedan.

It'll only move the ATP needle. Subaru is not 100% AWD and neither is Buick. Both are close though.

I have to say I like the overall shape better than the "1998 Taurus" shape of the CLA. The interior is a good step up over the current CLA too though I don't really care for the "driving an iPad" look they're going for, I can see where some might appreciate this aesthetic. Clearly, Mercedes doesn't believe the sedan is dead yet. If Mercedes can do this, Buick could have certainly done the new Verano here in the US.

Looking at the order guide right now. The current truck will continue as a 2019 in DoubleCab config only. 1WT, 1LT, 2LT trims. 5.3 Liter, 6-speed Auto only. Z71 available. 4x2 or 4x4. Could make for a good deal for someone who wants that config.

When I asked about the V6 in the new Silverado, the reply from the Manager of Product Development Communications replied, "What V6?" So my guess is that the 4.3 is dead. The front end looks better in other trims. The air vents on the front bumpers are aero-functional. Edit: I just went and looked at the order guide and the 4.3 is there for 2019... so I guess he was for some reason being coy at the time of release.

The homogenization of the car is nearly complete already. The vroom vroom noises you are hearing in the Mustang, CT6, and most German premium brand models isn't even real anyway, it is computer embellishment. Buick, GMC Denali, Volvo and others use active noise cancelation to remove the vroom vroom noises whenever possible. Automatic pedestrian braking saves lives, loud pipes do nothing for someone who is deaf. It's 1919 and you're still arguing in favor of the horse and buggy. But all of that is beside the point... you can still just let other people enjoy things.

So you're paying 5c/kWh? That is incredibly cheap. It's the delivery charge that is killing you.

This is the autoshow's fault. They've been approving everyone and anyone who could fog a mirror and who has posted on the internet ever. It's all about the control factor. The manufacturers want to control who has access to the debut and instead of getting journalists and legitimate bloggers and influencers, they're getting Chinese competitive intelligence crawling over the car for the first 3 days of the show.

How much of that is distribution? NJ has capacity and flow issues, thus the cost. That price would be even higher without the solar. I'm significantly more pragmatic. I like torque... I don't need vroom vroom noises. I don't care how the torque is generated as long as there is a lot of it and I get it low in the RPM range. I'd drive a nuke powered V12 steam engine as long as it gives me the performance I want.

You would call the card you booked the tickets on, not the card you put the upcharge on (unless they're the same of course). All you had to buy was the flight. You don't have to buy the bag check fee. I never pay bag check fees because I fly so much I get them for free. I would be SOL if it required payment of the bag check fee to get the reimbursement. You could argue with the airline to get your bag check fee refunded.

no one here gets triggered negatively by petroleum as a fuel. Some seem to get triggered by electric as a motive power or even triggered by those who might like an electric.
