  1. I like how every modern car in the commercial was a production car.... except the Camaro.
  2. The Benz weighs 500lbs less and has one extra cog in the tranny....
  3. I like them right up until the C pillar. After that the shape kinda gets lost.
  4. Given the age of the N*, I'd say you could still call it "old fashioned".
  5. and the movie industry wonders why we don't go to the movies anymore....
  6. The FWD Cord came out also in 1934... and was the inspiration for the Toronado. The horrizontal grill and hide away headlights of the Toronado were tributes to the Cord. So... much like any other battle... the best France can claim is a tie. And a few photos... And I think it was this car or another that helped the Olds Toronado design team make the decision to make that car front-drive. So, front-drive is a French thing made American, in other words.
  7. Capacity probably. Doubt they can build it in Lordstown.
  8. Golf, Beetle, Jetta, Passat, A4, TT = A4 platform A6 A8, Phaeton and Tourege
  9. Heck, isn't the entire VW/Audi lineup on just 3 platforms?
  10. There are only 5% of new car buyers the know the difference between a push rod and a push broom.
  11. We don't have low-sulfer diesel here in the US. It's the sulfer in the fuel that causes problems with the newer cleaner burning diesels the Euros have. An old diesel can run low-sulfer fuel, but a new diesel can't run US spec fuel. The refineries have till 2007 <I think> to convert to low sulfer production. It's not that the Euro engines will change, it's that the fuel here in the US will be compatible with the current engines.
  12. The Camry isn't really a premium 4-cylinder. I'm thinking more along the lines of Saab 9-3, Acura TSX, Audi A4.
  13. I think some of you have missunderstood me. I really don't want an offering from another brand. I want a GM premium 4-cylinder. Something like a Benz C-class size, or previous 3-series size. I think there is a market for this type of vehicle in the days of $3.10 a gallon regular. Do I long for the days when I could buy a 1996 Fleetwood and fill it's tank with a $20 bill? Abso-f@#kin-lutly! But unlike some members of this forum, I actually live in 2006 rather than 1968. Additionally, since most of my driving is around town, I *rarely* get to use the power of the CTS's V6. Driving the Alero around town was about the same as driving the CTS.... minus the premium features and looks. The difference was I got about 25mpg rather than 18mpg. I think Buick, Saturn, AND Caddy could all have 4 cylinder premium cars. Aura is on it's way with a hybrid 4. Buick *really* should have an epsilon II based Skylark with FWD and Caddy should have an AWD BTS with a turbo Echotech. Ok.. fine... you don't like the style of the BTS. It's not coming here anyway. But it SHOULD be here on EPII in the layout I mentioned. Gas prices aren't going down.... they now have you conditioned to think that $2.50 a gallon is a great deal.
  14. Ah didn't know about the Citroen... but apparently we're tied with the French because they were developed at the same time.
  15. uh, front drive is quite American. It was invented here. It was perfected here. It was popularized here.
  16. *raises a glass in toast*
  17. Most customers don't know a pushrod from a push broom. If a pushrod can be built well <as you yourself have attested to>, then it doesn't matter as long as the performance is there <by whatever measurement you care to use>. and I thought the Aura was getting the 6-speed.
  18. This is just the proof....
  19. I thought Subaru's heritage was in fork trucks and backhoes.
  20. You'll make more money as C&G Admin then a comedian Bri.
  21. See, I actually like the Maxx... I think it looks more American. Saturn can have the Opel.
  22. The Aura has the 3.6 and a 4 cylinder, 2mode hybrid coming....what exactly is uncompetitve about that? Sure there is also the 3.5, but there is nothing wrong with offering customers the choice of that engine.* *Stated this way because I know your opinon on pushrod V6s. I like them, you don't. We can agree on that.
  23. Well... like what kind of bad experiences? Apple's Applecare warrenty is the best in the business.
  24. Don't do the G5! Seriously. Nothing is wrong with the processor itself except that Apple has already determined it's obsolesense. All new software will be written for the MacIntels.
