  1. BLC is the convertible? All the practice was on the G6 so they could get it right for Cadillac </rampant infounded speculation>
  2. I'm thinking the whining was coming from the front driver's seat location.
  3. Now wait a sec. You can't have it both ways. I get shouted down here because I maintain that the CTS is in the same class as the 5-series because they're the same size and have similar drivetrains. I fight with the people that say that the CTS is in the 3-series class because it shares a price point and is at the bottom rung of the Cadillac lineup. Therefore if I'm wrong about the CTS then the Aveo is in the same class as the Rio, Accent, and Aerio.
  4. and yet still one of the best sellers in it's class...
  5. *patiently waits for 68 to come in and say "if they'd just switched to RWD, the Galant alone would outsell Camry, Accord, Impala, and Sonata combined"*
  6. I can think of two local Mitsu dealers here in PGH. 1. looks like a doublewide trailer... the service department is an old Sunoco station. It's former name was "South Hills Premier Used Autos". 2. is a former Daewoo dealership with a vinyl "Mitsubishi" sign taped over the old Daewoo sign. At night the sign still lights up green and you can clearly read Daewoo under the white vinyl.
  7. I'm parking the CTS in the garage for the next month or two.... this is getting ridiculous!
  8. At 25.... maybe.... above that... not so much.
  9. If Brazil can do 100% ethanol fuel, we can do at least 50% ethanol fuel. Imagine what cutting our consumption of oil in half would do to the fuel market.
  10. The last relevent Eclipse was the second gen with available turbo and AWD. The last relevent Galant was the generation with the turbo and AWD. The 3000GT was their halo car, they lost that.
  11. Enlarged? It looks about normal sized to me.....
  12. If Joe Redneck can't afford a Silverado, he'll buy a Colorado. All that will happen is demand will shift from the big trucks to the small trucks. Profit on the large trucks would go down and profit on the small trucks would go up <as demand increases>. This is exactly what happened with Nissan Maxima and Nissan Altima. Maxima sales are down from where they once were, but Altima sales are way up.
  13. A number of points to address the falsehoods in both the article and some C&Ger's opinions: 1. Corn is one of the least economical of all the potential crops to derive ethanol from. 2. Switchgrass, sugarbeats, Beer manufacturing byproduct, and sugarcane are the most economical. I've seen ratios for sugarcane ethenol in Brazil being 8:1 energy production: energy consumption. 3. Currently you will see a hit in milage running E85. This is due to the engine being tuned to run E85 as a secondary measure. If the engine were tuned for E85 as the primary fuel, the mileage difference would diminish. 4. Petrol fuels are subsidized Let me say that again... Petrol fuels are subsidized Think 100 Billion for Iraq war 2.0 isn't a subsidy? How ever much for Iraq war 1.0 wasn't a subsidy? Personally, I'd rather have the Feds kick in 51 cents a gallon towards my fuel bill if it means my partner doesn't have to go back to Iraq <he served a year there... analyzing fuel ironically>. I'll tie a yellow ribbon 'round my Oldsmobile. We'll protect Kuwait for daddy's V8.
  14. That would be difficult. 1995 was the last year for the Convertible *and* the 3.4 dohc.
  15. uhm, why? If "Joe Redneck" can't afford his an F-150 or Silverado anymore, you think they'll be running to the Toyota and Honda dealers? I doubt it, they'll probably end up at Ford or Chevy.
  16. And I drive a CTS V6 and get 18 around town while my Avalanche gets 14. Yay V-6 fuel efficiency.
  17. Interesting, the steering wheel is the same one we saw in that 2008 CTS interior shot
  18. I saw one in the Bahamas.... don't recall the name.
  19. 58 Buick 59 Buick or 58 Olds 59 Olds
  20. under your rock...
  21. Is the horsepower war over, or is it just spreading into V6 land? just a few years ago every manufacturer was in the 180-240hp range with their V6es and had been there for a while. During that time the LS engines came out, the Ford OHC V8s came out, Infinity, Lexus and Dodge <with trucks> started throwing their hats in the ring with high powered V8s all the while the V6es lagged behind. Now V8s are easily pushing 350,400, 500hp out. The V8s have peaked. The V6es are playing catch up. A 300hp V6 is not any more fuel efficient than a 300hp V8. Infinity G35 coupe 6-speed manual = 19/26 City/Highway Impala SS 4-speed automatic = 18/28 city/highway GTO 400hp6-speed manual = 17/25 Heck even the lard bucket 300c manages 17/25 with 345hp, room for 5, and a huge trunk.
  22. 1995 Cutlass Supreme Convertible
  23. The U.S. Accord is also a Hyundai something in other markets.
